I started coming to this place September 2017 and realized early that they aren't any help. I had several problems that would cause a lot of pain with confirmed diagnosis. Each time I went there to get help they would test me for something unrelated to my pain. They weren't interested in helping me. Not only that they told me I'll be on medical leave and then after a surgery refused to signed the forms causing me to lose out on my leave pay. I'm lucky to have another doctor to fill out the leave forms or I wouldn't have a job right now. At my last appointment they were worried about bi-poplar which isn't my diagnosis at all but it's on my record for them and they never treated me for bi-polar but yet they were discussing something I don't have when I was there for my pain from surgery. I never did find out what's causing my pain. If you need a doctor that will help and listen you in your time of need don't go here! Worse experience ever.

I told my Piedmont Dr. that I had trouble in the past where staff does not want to lift me onto the bone scan table. She really didn't think I'd have any problems when I mentioned it. I wrote on my e-check in. I wrote it on my original document and in response to an email I received. When I arrived, there was no record of that and the staff said they could not lift me. So I left, crying out of pure frustration. HEALTHCARE IS NOT FOR THE SICK. IT'S FINE IF YOU ARE FULLY FUNCTIONAL. GO AWAY IF YOU NEED ASSISTANCE. Don't even get me started on the lack of information in the address. 242 King Ave. is a pay lot with buildings A and B. There's no way to tell what is in each building .

My mother was here after a…read moresevere stroke that left her left side paralyzed and with aphasia, incontinence, and confusion. Let's start with the positives: Most of the nurses are incredible and are doing the best they can. There were a select few nurses that helped my my mother bathe and brushed her hair ad put it up in a ponytail to prevent further matting that occurred when she was in the ICU. Now for everything else. Within the first 48 hours of arriving, a nurse left a tourniquet on my mother's left arm for at least two hours. Not only could we not assess if this did any damage because her left side was already suffering from palsy due to the stroke, but it left an awful mark that I'm sure hurt. I asked them to document this incident but after looking at her medical records it looks like no one did that. Throughout her stay, I could tell when things were wrong. I would ask for a test to be run for, say, a UTI, and it took so much pushing and several days of my mother grimacing and white-knuckling the rail to get a test done at all, and then hours for antibiotics to be administered after results were back. The communication here is God awful. My mother was mostly deaf, and somehow it either wasn't in her chart or no one was reading it, because no one knew until I asked them to put a sign up in her room that said "hard of hearing." They lost her hearing aids, also, which certainly didn't help. Some nurses weren't aware of when she had infections or even that her left side was paralyzed. My mother's insurance stopped covering her stay at Landmark after about two/three weeks, and would not cover any more unless someone at Landmark said there were complications with her. No complications were reported, despite her developing MRSA pneumonia and having to be 24/7 restrained. The administration did their best to push her out of Landmark to a nursing home, and ended up not restraining her when they should have because in order for someone to be sent to a nursing home they have to have been out of restraints for at least 48 hours. My mother decannulated often due to the discomfort of the trachea and her lack of understanding as to the harm it caused. She needed 24/7 eyes on her, and they often had a nurse sitting at the door, but due to understaffing she couldn't always be there. My mother pulled out of her restraints countless times, or they weren't tight enough so she could pull herself up enough to take the cannula out. This contributed to her developing tracheal stenosis, a narrowing of her trachea, which caused her death due to acute respiratory failure the day she was transferred out of Landmark. Suffice to say, I don't recommend anyone stay at Landmark if you have serious issues. The administration simply does not care about you, and the nurses are too overwhelmed to do anything. If you have absolutely no choice in where your loved one ends up, and you HAVE to choose Landmark, I IMPLORE you to spend as much time with them as possible and to be a fierce and aggressive advocate for their health. You have to become an expert in their care whether you like it or not to make sure things are being done right.

Easy access, prompt professional service, quality care, teamwork with the providers. Only down side is that the pharmacy used to have Saturday service but now only weekdays. She took my vitals and was so very kind. The wait wasn't long before I was off to a room and met the sweetest nurse, Brittany (RN). Although my anxiety was through the roof as I waited on my CT Scan results, she made me feel so relaxed. Brittany was kind, personable, and professional. Lastly, I met Dr. Eddie Green. He was outstanding! Best doctor I've ever encountered at any Emergency Room. All I can say is that they made my visit so comforting despite the circumstances. I was put on a 1013 hold after having 2 seizures and having "amnesia." I put that in quotes because…read morethat was the reason for the hold. I was transferred from Athens to Snellville (still not knowing why I'm being held) via Sheriff's auto. Upon reaching Snellville, they slid a specimen bag across the table to me. Inside were the materials I would need for a blood draw. I work in the medical field and wasn't sure if they thought I could do my own draw or not; regardless, I slid it back across the table to them. They then strip searched me. This was after having all of my clothes and belongings taken from me in Athens. They gave me the same paper scrubs to put back on. This is a horrendous experience for anyone who has been sexually assaulted. Little did I know, this was just the beginning of my traumatic experiences with them. I have required medication due to heart surgery - was not provided that. I have required medication for epilepsy and very strict routines and daily care to prevent seizures - gave me the meds, but I did not sleep for 5 days. Their policy is to open your door every 15 minutes to put eyes on you. They don't miss that. I take an injection (for my heart) and was never given that. Took that 5 days late after I was released. Take medication for sleep because it is so important to keep my seizures at bay - not one night did I sleep nor was I given the medication. I asked for Tylenol for a headache, I got it the next day. Every night someone was screaming or cursing the nurses in the commons area. No one got sleep except for the transgender boy who got to keep his door closed. People with real psychiatric issues were almost competing to see who could keep the most people awake. No interventions from the staff (Haldol or other injection) to ensure we all got sleep. In 5 days of no sleep, 1 patient was given an injection and that was during the day. During the day they wanted you to go to "group sessions" to color, paint, do graphic organizers, etc. Not one session focused on amnesia, drug abuse, suicidal thoughts, or any of the host of things that had placed us all in this hell. Patients openly talked and planned how high they were going to get once they were released. In the meantime, I'm there with no memory of why. I saw a psyche doctor who said I was suicidal, however, he also said at no point did I ever threaten to harm myself or others (reasons for a 1013). My paperwork also shows that I never made any threats, but my discharge papers say I have several mental diagnoses. At no point in the 5 days did I ever receive anti psyche medications or even a diagnosis. All I knew was I had 2 seizures and had amnesia. That is called postictal. It is what happens with epilepsy. I will admit my memories have still not returned and I am having to ask my family and friends to fill in the blanks. That is a neurological issue. I explained this to the psychiatrist at the hospital and he agreed that he was not "treating me for my seizures and only my amnesia." Again, that should have included at least an MRI of the brain, but that didn't happen. On day 5 (legal limit without going before a judge) they released me. No new medications that would treat any diagnosis they listed and told to follow up with a Behavioral Health facility. My "intake" was done on the day I left (malpractice). I had to have a "Safety Plan" to be discharged - again, I have not one time threatened harm to anyone! I want to mention I got 5 days because of the weekend. I was told "No one gets released on the weekends because they don't count." They certainly do count when you are being held against your will. I have been home for a few days now. My life is back to what it was before all of this happened. This was, without a doubt, a VERY traumatic thing to go thru. I have lived thru some severe traumas....losses of loved ones by suicide, illness, and most recently, the loss of my daughter. I even began to question my own sanity while being in this place. If I was not processing the loss of my daughter, you would think they would have focused on helping with that. Instead, they wanted to call it "stabilization until they go to a different facility." So, what about me? I wasn't threatening harm to myself or others. I wasn't going to another facility. I was "kidnapped" and held for 5 days without any kind of interventions, counseling, medications, etc. I was just an MRN with insurance. While this is lengthy, I hope it helps people to understand that this place did more harm to me, than it helped. I can't say they helped the addicts because they were looking forward to getting high. They didn't do anything for the psyche patients who screamed all night. It is holding pen and that's all.

i cannot say enough good things about dr. chisolm. he is the best doctor i've ever had by far…read more his knowlege and expertise are way above average. his bedside manner is excellent. his nursing staff is kind and professional. he is able to do a lot of testing right in his office. he sees you in a timely manner and is able to electronically order your prescriptions. he always remembers what's going on with you. i was really impressed when i came to his office 45 minutes before they opened with food poisoning and he was able to get me a hospital bed reserved while he stabilized me until a friend was able to drive me to the hospital. most of all, dr. chisolm really listens.
