Throughout my entire pregnancy i felt supported and safe. not a moment went by where I was feeling left in the dark other than the typical new mom fog, forgetting about some things and having to be reminded again. I felt heard and secure in my decisions. now almost one year later I am still excited for the pediatrician appointments to hear about how well my son is developing. hitting milestones early, even though he was a littler baby. Dr Richmond will always be my favorite doctor and probably my sons as well. I have severe PTSD and was terrified to give birth in a public hospital but I knew that was going to be the safest place to go. I'll continue to come back here for regularly scheduled appointments even if I were to move out of state. Kathy, another one of the nurses here is also a blessing. she used to be my nurse before I got pregnant and made the switch to Dr. Richmond. Tammy/Tami; Dr Richmond's nurse is also such a blessing in my life. she was there for me throughout every appointment making sure not only my pregnancy was going well but my general day to day was going just as well. life is so beautiful thanks to MHP and their wonderful staff. Angie has been in the reception office as far back as I can remember! familiar faces all over. I can't wait to be back when I have my complete family unit to have another beautiful baby.

Emergency Room Specific First off I want to say that the…read morestaff working on the day of our visit were so kind and this is not a mark against them. I came here last month and found out I was miscarrying our very wanted child. While here we of course signed an entire books worth of forms while in distress because, you know, I was having a miscarriage. One of these things was a No Surprise Billing form. A billing person explained it to us and told us that we could only be charged a max of $XXX after insurance for our visit because the hospital was transparent with its charges. We signed because the number given was one I could handle, barely. However, today I received a bill for almost 3 times the amount I was given on the No Surprise Billing form. We of course call the hospital confused and were transferred to physicians billing where we were told that the physicians billing is NOT AFFECTED by the No Surprise Billing and can basically charge whatever they want. We expressed our frustration about this because nowhere in the explanation of the No Surprise Billing was it ever told to us that the physicians billing was not part of it. We were told that one of the first forms we signed (among the many) mentioned that physicians billing is separate from facility billing. Ok, but why was it not explained to us that it wasn't included in the No Surprise Billing? Yeah it's a separate bill but so is imaging and that IS included in the No Surprise Billing...so we are now left with a bill 3x the amount we expected, waiting on the bill from the facility that hopefully is the amount expected. That will bring our total to paying 4x the amount we were told. I went to the emergency room because I was losing my baby. And now I have to deal with paying a bill that I feel is incredibly predatory. Basically, the No Surprise Billing form is a cover and the physicians can charge you whatever they want. Whatever amount they tell you at the time of treatment is pennies compared to what you will be charged after the fact. Also, no one answers your calls no matter what time of day you call. The front desk and front of house people are fantastic and answer right away but as soon as you are transferred to anyone else (patient advocate, billing, etc.) be prepared to get sent to voicemail and NEVER get a call back. Overall this has made a devastating experience even worse and I will NEVER go back. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU CAN AVOID IT.

Went to schedule mri and the mri office explained they didn't receive the request from the hospital in a timely manner and I'd have to request another from the specialist in order to be scheduled. I called outpatient clinic (within a week and a half of specialist appointment) because I didn't receive phone call from mri office. My phone calls to outpatient were transferred to voicemail for every call. I left several messages for return calls. I did not receive calls back. I did continue to receive a bill for a remaining balance. I had issues with my new medication and wished to discuss with my specialist. Left voicemails and never received a call back. Luckily was able to continue to refill said prescription to manage chronic health condition. A week ago I ran out of refills and my pharmacy communicated to me that they've not been able to reach my specialist for a refill. I called outpatient again today to try to get medication refill or even a response. I got a call back finally. Was told I haven't been seen since November, I didn't get an mri, and I won't be getting my meds refilled. I reiterated that I've called and left voicemails since November and haven't received any calls back. I also need my medications for pain management. To which the nurse replied coldly that she didn't receive any voicemails, and I won't be getting medication until an appointment is made. I have a communication advocate on file with the office as well and they are also unable to get in contact with specialist or assistance. This experience has left me feeling like this office doesn't care about patients outside of the office. I'd use patient portal for communication if I was even added to it but that information or opportunity wasn't extended to me.
