I had an unpleasant massage experience with Sonok. In my session, she did not want to do a massage even though I made an appointment for massage and I told her this. She said I needed stretching instead of massage. When her techniques were hurting me, I asked her to stop. She told me she knew what I needed and I should listen to her if I wanted to feel better. While some things she did during my session were beneficial, her technique overall is rough and, frustratingly, she does not listen to your NO. She continues to push repeatedly after you have already clearly said you don't want something done to you. As an aside, I have had stretching done by other therapists and it was not (is not) painful. Similar to the other review, she also spoke about religion during my massage. I tried to be kind and expressed my preference for a quiet massage because I wanted to relax. Sonok continued to speak about her life, her suffering, her struggles with her family and more religious talk. Even if I don't disagree with your views, during a massage at an establishment, I feel this is inappropriate. After my second request for a relaxing massage, I stopped responding to her conversation. She also told me I needed to have her walk on me instead of use her hands. There was no bar on the ceiling; no, thank you. I have shared my experience with friends and here is a surprising coincidence, two said they had similar experiences with Sonok (roughness, stretching instead of massaging and wanting to use her feet instead of her hands). I wish I had talked to others prior to booking this appointment. My friends have spoken directly to Massage Envy about Sonok yet nothing seems to have changed - a 2 year old review, friends who had this happen over the last year and my recent experience. I am not sure why Massage Envy would continue to allow this to occur. Another part of the experience that was negative is Sonok exhales forcefully with her breath directly in your face. Not only is this unpleasant, but it is unsanitary. Usually, the worst part of a massage is the end. In this case, I have never wanted a massage session to end until this appointment. There is one more thing to watch out for when receiving services at Massage Envy ...when leaving, I was told I had an additional charge for an "enhancement". I didn't know what that meant. I was told Sonok used essential oil during my massage and there was an additional charge for it. During the massage, she asked if I liked "smell good" with no explanation that what she was providing was different than what was included in my massage and no explanation that this was an additional cost. She said 4 words - you like smell good? I feel her approach with this up charge was covert and unprofessional. I understand Yelp is here for people to provide helpful information, but it's hard for me to speak negatively about an individual person in a public forum. My intention is for this review to be helpful to others.

I had seen Stephanie's work before (both hair and makeup) via Amanda and I knew this chick was a genius so I bit the bullet. Plus, you know that feeling you get when you just *know* someone is cool? Well, not only is she cool but I *knew* Stephanie was a hair/makeup genius the moment I walked in the door. It was love at first sight and now I've had her do my hair and makeup for 3 shoots. She has done vintage to contemporary and I've loved it all. I would hire her to do my makeup and hair every day if I could afford it because it is no coincidence that my dates go way better when I see them after I see her...but this is still not how she changed my life. My best friend's fiancee saw me on New Years and hadn't seen me since this little transformation and literally asked her to start doing her eyebrows like mine. Who knew eyebrows could make someone feel so sexy?! Anyways, not only Stephanie Brick rock my world with the eyebrow revelation, but she also taught me how to correctly do my eye makeup. I've been walking around this world for 28 years with way too thick eyeliner looking like Cleopatra gone wrong...and now (I don't mean to brag but...) I can finally do a proper wingtip!
