My wife and I couldn't be more thankful for the work Rich did on our house. We live in Lake Arrowhead which can be brutal on paint jobs. We purchased our house in July and new we needed an excellent paint job before the winter came. We had five different companies come to bid the job. We decided on Rich because of his professional manner, the comments he made about the house while reviewing the job (such as area's we would and would not need to replace siding, it was obvious he was very skilled), and lastly his quote (which was VERY good). One thing I also liked was his choice of paint for our home. Instead of your standard paint, he used Flood stain which can be color matched. This product is much more durable for the harsh variations in weather that occurs on the mountain. He started the job on time and worked his tail off prepping the house for three weeks! Every day I came home from work to see his progress I was delighted by his attention to detail. There were a couple siding boards that needed replacing from the woodpeckers and you can't tell that he replaced the boards (matching new wood with older siding can be a challenge). He also fixed a couple holes where some old pipes were coming out of the buildup. I've stood in front of those spots staring trying to see if i could notice the patch job, but was never able to. Also, there were some splatters of paint on the roof from whoever did the last paint job and he had a painters trick to cover that up. He also painted the vent piping coming out of the roof. I would recommend Rich Merola to any of my friends or family. I have hired painters in the past, twice to be exact, and neither showed the professionalism or skill that Rich Merola had. Rich had a big project coming up and squeezed my little project in on a Saturday so i didn't have to wait until after the holidays to get this done. When he arrived, to his own surprise i'm sure, he had to work in a house filled with 4 young children and a dog (remember, it was a saturday). He didn't seem bothered by it in the slightest. There are no words that can express the type of service I received. First off, he was on time....not a minute late. We pained my kitchen, not a huge job, but the quality of work was exceptional. We have a home in the San Bernardino Mountains that we built in 1994. It has been painted a total of 4 times. With this 4th paint job done by Rich Merola, the house has been painted correctly for the first time! The house looks spectacular. I had no idea it could look so good. They masked everything, scraped, primed and painted everything (which included a good 30' height of deck support structure). Rich and staff kept my house neat and clean inside and out and Rich even helped me clean the windows afterwards because I was too scared to climb out on the scaffolding and the high windows have never been washed either.
