Arkansas Black, Northern Spy and so many more kinds of apples that you will never ever see in stores. The visit alone is amazing! The GPS kept re-routing me to volcan, but if you continue straight rather than taking a left onto farmer road, continue straight ahead past volcan and you will see farmer road continued and take a right there. The entrance of the location is the 3rd driveway off of farmer road. My friend had organized an event here for a group of ~20 people and they accommodated our group and were so friendly! I like how each group gets their own booking time and you get a private experience. We got to try the apple cider that they make, a several variety of apples, honey and take home some bags of tea. The owners gave a great educational overview of the types of apples, the farm, and how they take care of the trees here. They also had some other fruits including plums and persimmons that were absolutely delicious. They had a unique variety of apples called russet apples which look like russet potatoes but they taste so sweet and I think this was my favorite apple to try! The gift shop here is adorable and their Jams specifically the apricot jasmine and strawberry rose taste SOOO GOOD and are a must to get! There is also a bathroom here which is really clean. Overall they are an amazing place to go to, well priced, and very friendly! Def would be back

AMBIANCE Parking: Street parking in downtown Julian. It can get pretty busy based on the time and season. Vibes: Welcome to Julian! A small town feel as you can experience almost everything within a block. However there are also some cool bars/farms to explore around to. The Cider Mill itself is in the heart of downtown Julian. Shelves filled with jams, preserves, candies, local honey, nuts, dried fruits, and all kinds of nostalgic treats. FOOD / DRINKS Apple Boysenberry Cider (Recommend) I'm a fan of apple but a fan of all seasonal flavors. I enjoyed the sweetness and light tart of the berry flavor - a nice depth of tanginess that just felt lively. CUSTOMER SERVICE Friendly and welcoming. Ondean served me a sample of the drinks and they were great! TL;DR OVERALL 4.5 Stars. Good selections, good products, and a pleasant experience. I love the small town feel as they're attentive with the details and interaction. Julian Cider Mill isn't anything flashy just your good old reliable snack shop when you need it. TIPS * Great place to stop and go for snacks, cooking flavors, or samples like their ciders!

As we walked in, I was so impressed with how many products they were offering. Lots of different honeys, candies, ciders, sauces, pickled vegetables, toys, beef jerky, snacks, and so much more. Absolutely, loved the samples of apple ciders. They were offering cherry and boysenberry flavors. We enjoyed the boysenberry cider so we had to get a cup of it. Although, I felt it was pricey for a small cup of cider where I gulp it in a minute. Really refreshing since it was a nice day out in Julian. The staff were very inviting and nice. Store is small, so when it got busy we had to leave. Worth checking out when you are looking for something to do in Julian.

You pre-pay and then they give you your container. Walk around and you can come here to pick different fruits during different seasons. Guess what, they have a petting zoo inside as well! How cool! If there is food available and they haven't been fed too much, you can grab a scoop and feed away! Staff was friendly and very helpful in navigating, especially when you forget where you are supposed to walk to in order to pick your fruit. I would say it is about farmer's market pricing, definitely not on the cheaper scale but you are paying for quality here. Can't wait to come back! A complaint has been filed with the US Department of Justice as Nan has openly discriminated…read moreagainst my husband for having to have a hearing service dog and used wildlife specifically deer around the cabin as an excuse to charge us a lot more to stay in the larger "pet friendly" artist loft instead of the smaller 2 person cozy cabin at Strawberry Hill we requested. It's against the ADA requirements- Q. Can hotels assign designated rooms for guests with service animals? A. No. A guest with a disability who uses a service animal must be provided the same opportunity to reserve any available room as other guests without disabilities. They may not be restricted to "pet-friendly" rooms. As for her flimsy excuse about the wildlife even though I assured her we follow the service dog rules of bathing her before trips and keeping her on a close leash. She never has barked EVER. We have never heard her voice! She was trained to not chase or even look at other animals she turns away. She is a well trained service dog from two well know legitimate organizations and is licensed. Even though by law we don't have to show her I offered to show Nan the CA service dog license and her training paperwork and card my husband carries showing who trained her and that she is allowed in ambulances and hospitals too. I explained all the tasks that she does to help my husband with his hearing loss and explained why we wouldn't allow her to ever be close to wildlife for her safety too. All in all Nan went on and on about how she had to close off the cabins before and after the dates because of covid and aerosols and the cost of insurance, the cost of doing business so it appears as if she used the excuse of wildlife and bad past experiences with people lying about pets being service animals to make us pay more by booking the larger pet friendly cabin. I kept saying my husband's service dog is not a pet and she wouldn't listen. 27 minutes on the phone I listened to her discriminate against my husband before asking one more time if since she was insisting we stay in the large pet cabin with the 3 beds we don't need could she at least just charge us the cost of the strawberry cabin since we aren't supposed to be penalized with increased charges because of my husband's disability and she said No. So I finally said well I'm going to report you and hung up. I did double check just in case there was a change in the last few weeks but there wasn't. I called the CA state park in Julian and spoke with the ranger which is the same wildlife, same forest as Nans property and they assured me that service dogs are still allowed in cabins there AND even on trails. He assured me that my husband's service dog would not interfere with the deer under her cabin at all!!! That the people staying in the cabins and even her 6 cats roaming the property could interfere more. Her excuse was a flimsy way to try to extort more money out of us. Maybe someone who was trying to pass a pet off as a service dog would have been fine with this since she does have no pets on her listings BUT a legitimate well trained service dog is NOT a pet and we know the law and we are proud of the amazing job the dog does that is potentially life saving. It's sad we are missing out what appears to be a cute cabin but I'm glad we aren't monetarily supporting disabled discrimination.
