We wanted to do something different with the kids, So my daughter did some research and she saw that Happy Hens not only sold farm fresh eggs but they also had fun Egg-tivities. They had a cute tiny store and a petting zoo and inside the zoo a small playground. $10 per person for the petting zoo. Ramona residents $5 and 2 and under is free. They were very friendly . The zoo tickets are sold in the little store as well as the chicken and goat food. We bought some honey, salve, and soup. A little on the pricey side but I'm supporting a small business so to me it's money well spent. The kids had fun feeding and petting all the animals. They played a little on the playground. They had out houses for the restrooms We spent a couple of hours there and you can totally make a longer day of it if you pack a lunch and sit on the benches Sweet family time fun. read more

Happy Hens is a small farm that sells fresh, organic, free‑range eggs, and you can also tour the property, check out the petting zoo/playground, stay on the farm, or attend their local events. We stopped by as part of our Ramona trip to see the animals and pick up some fresh goods. There's plenty of parking, and the barn is covered in egg‑cellent egg pun signs, which definitely adds to the charm. We came on a Saturday around 11 and it was fairly empty. The "petting zoo," however, is a bit misleading. You can only pet the goats -- which are beautiful -- but many of the other animals were either not visible or behind fencing that made it hard to interact or feed them. You pay for admission and then pay again for different animal foods, which felt pricey given the limited access. The person at the front seemed confused and wasn't able to answer basic questions about the egg products, which made the experience feel a little unorganized. No one was unfriendly, but no one was particularly helpful either. I expected a warmer, more guided experience. Also, keep in mind the only bathroom available was a porta‑potty, so plan accordingly. That said, it's still a fun quick stop if you're already in Ramona and want to grab fresh eggs or see a few animals like a bunny, two goats, chickens, a horse, and some sheep. I have an allergy to corn so I come here driving an hour to get my eggs. Its for my health and I like their eggs. However the girls that run the little store when I am there are not friendly nor do they generally have answers for questions. I've tried to have a conversation with them but they are inconvenienced by my existence. Half the stuff is miss marked and some don't have ingredients. They ring up the wrong items and when you point out they rang up the wrong item or the item has a sticker with a lower price they are put out by having to correct the wrong item and wont even correct the price. Overall I will be looking for a closer person with eggs without corn because after several visits 1/ever 2-3 months I'm over being treated the way the girls treat me. read more

I appreciated the punny signs along the road that help point to the farm as well as the punny signs around the farm and within the shop. They even have a drive through! I saw petting zoo was 10$ admission and you can pet goats, chickens, cows. Service was also friendly. Eggs tastes great. The egg white is much fluffier compared to store brought eggs. Such a great experience! Visited the farm on NYE with a friend. The farm was well maintained and the animals seemed happy. They have a little shop next to the parking lot with a variety of goodies including raw milk, eggs, some meats, etc. The clerk was friendly and helpful. I ordered a flat of 30 eggs and loved them. I took my children here on a weekday afternoon and it was not a great experience. the farm itself is fun, and petting zoo is alright but you can only pet the goats, nothing else. my issue is with the kids who attend the school at the farm. when they were let out they took over every area of the play area and other areas where animals were. there were no supervision and these children pushed and shoved my kids out of the way and also told my kids they weren't allowed to play with certain items but they were. when we used tokens to buy food for the animals I was bombarded with kids trying to steal the food from my children or to shake the vending machine to get food out. it was extremely chaotic. a little boy was chasing my son pretending to be a zombie scaring my 2 year old. it was too much that we left I think there should be boundaries for those who attend the school and those who are guests. won't be back until there is read more

Drove from Chula Vista to buy some eggs. Let me tell you first, yes, it was a drive but totally worth it it was the reset drive that was needed. Once we were getting closer cut signs let us know that we were on the right path. Once we arrive we fell in love. Such a cute little place and super friendly staff. In my search for fresh, organic, made by happy hens, eggs, I stumbled upon Happy Hens! It is eggactly (forgive me) what I've been looking for. Eggs that are fresh, delicious tasting and humane kept hens. They run free and do what chickens do all day long! There are a variety of types and they produce white and brown eggs. It's a family run farm with the most adorable children I have ever met! Amos was helpful showing us how to feed the pigs and goats. They also have a donkey, some peacocks, turkeys ( Tom & Tina) and lots and lots of happy hens! They have a drive through too if you don't want to get out and explore. Inside there's a cute little pantry selling all kinds of homemade jams, healthy smoothie mixes and breads. I can't name the eclectic mix of items you can buy because there's just so much! Although it was a little bit far from where we live, it worth the long drive for their fresh eggs! They have eggs, chicken broth, chicken, milk.. and more. I think we got about 30 eggs, price wasn't different from what you paid for so called "pasture-raised" eggs at grocery stores. You see the difference cause size and color are so vary unlike all nice looking store bought eggs. I'm Japanese, we'd like to eat fresh egg raw with hot rice and bit of soy sauce... yum!!! People may say " it's not safe" or " "disgusting " to eat raw eggs.. since eggs are so fresh, you can eat them raw! We also got milk, it was so sweet and creamy!
