Indoor rock climbing!! They have top rope and boulder walls! They also offer yoga classes, fitness classes, and a sauna! In order to belay, you need to be certified with a hanging tag. Great for all ages!

Came with a Groupon but honestly if I lived closer I would take advantage of this gym. They offer a class to use the ropes which was fun for me and my 10 year old son. We came to conquer our fear of heights and this place is such a unique experience a definitely an all day activity. I had only planned on 2 hrs but we stayed for 4 and still didn't get to even use the whole gym. It's not just rock climbing walls either, they have a small *actual gym* with quite a bit of equipment, including free weights and a sauna.

Great gym, the biggest in Austin, with a massive rope climbing area with tall walls, most ropes can also be lead climbed. They have a huge variety of straight, inclined, declined, and overhang, with a mix of slab and bouldery climbs. With the large number of climbs there's also a wide range of grades, for everyone from beginner to advanced climbers. The bouldering section upstairs is just an extensive and varied. They also have fitness and yoga classes, free on Sunday for some, a huge sauna, restrooms, lockers and showers, snacks area, and gear. Of course there's a training area with weights, hangboard, kilter board and spray wall, and it's a nice location so unlike other gyms it's easy to find parking. Greatest downfall currently is it's somewhat isolated so you need to drive to get food, a drink, or other. Otherwise it's the best gym in the area and comparable pricing.

We are here quite often but I've only climbed 3 times as normally I'll be on the side watching the kids. My husband is a member and he was introduced to Mesa Rim by our surrounding neighbors who are avid climbers when me and the kids were overseas. He talked about how beautiful and well kept the place is but I was skeptical as we've been to other Bouldering places in Austin...and I wasn't too impressed. Fun yes, but fancy? I wasn't expected to be wowed really. Anyway, when we finally visited for the first time, I didn't want to leave. They are super family friendly and have everything you need. I believe diaper changing tables are on the first floor so babies can come too. My oldest kid sometimes would have scratches here and there and she even knows where to find cotton swabs, bandaids, tapes, and hair ties. This place is so clean I want to live here. You can tell the staff really put in a lot of work to have this place running successfully. The restroom upstairs is gender neutral and downstairs are gender specific. The individual stalls in the restroom and shower area are big enough for me and two kids to not bump into others. Whew. The sense of community here is strong, there are fun classes and events for those interested to participate. There is a bulletin board too for everyone to communicate and managers/staff would actually respond. You can also find belay buddies to practice together. If you want to take a break from climbing, there are also cardio and strength training equipment, and a ping pong table to switch it up. Overall I'm happy my husband introduced Mesa Rim to us and I might even become a member myself.

At the beginning of the school year we came every Saturday, but as schools gotten busier we havent been coming so frequently. It is the most affordable bouldering place ive ever been, they provide bandaids when you get scraped, have very attentive service, inclusive staff and events, and very kindly use sustainable paper towels at the handwashing station with high-quality lotion available after. They always provide chalk and shoes and I think the routes are super fun and also inclusive! I also like having the opportunity to use the other gym amenities with the daytime pass, and it is all kept very clean. One time I came in with a sprained ankle and used two punches because I thought my ankle wouldnt get in the way too much, but after a few minutes I realized it would and I didnt want to stay. They refunded my punches so now I have them for another time! I love this place and have brought almost everyone I know here with me. I would definitely recommend it.

The trail itself is relatively short and manageable, though there are a few stairs to navigate. Parking can be limited during peak times, so arriving early is a good idea. The terrain is rocky on top so watch your step and there are a fair amount of people up here enjoying the view as well. I am sure sunrises and sunsets are beautiful and very impressive. We walked for a ways and got a few different vantage points of the views so if you are able to do that I definitely recommend doing so. It's a great place and indeed a place to go when visiting. Austin, TX 78741, it quickly jumped to 4 stars. This obviously doesn't bode well for the above-referenced facility. What helped determine the increase in stars was the immediate response to my complaint about what happened on my second visit here. The manager emailed to offer his apology and asked how he could make up for the poor service I encountered from a couple of his staff members. His apology was enough for me, considering I don't live in Austin and was visiting. The manager's concern for the customer goes a long way in my opinion and determination of my reviews. I commend the manager for his attentiveness and concern for his clients. I recommend that he clean his store with a little more elbow grease.

In this locations defense, the manager at this location did reach out eventually and have a conversation with me - they also hired some new staff members for the early morning 5AM shift that are more attentive and can be seen cleaning, however, issues unfortunately remain at this location that warrant a follow up. Having been to at least 10 different PF locations around Austin' and the greater surrounding area I can unequivocally state that this location remains to be the worst that I frequent which is unfortunate considering this Anderson Mill is the one closest in proximity to my 9-5 I'm writing this review so that additional resources can be put into the Anderson Mill location in order to remedy the ONGOING (several months) issues with the showers. This location has gone weeks with multiple showers being out of order due to an ongoing and unresolved leak. This means for those of us that shower after our workout prior to heading into our jobs we either had to wait in a line of people before using facilities (or in my case) have to cut my gym session short 10-15min in order to be the first in the shower to avoid congestion. Fast forward several weeks EVERY shower is now non-functional due to that same leak creating mold This poses an even greater inconvenience as now members have NO ability to shower after their workouts before heading into work. Not sure what can be done to address this but it's made working out at this location extremely cumbersome - the signs posted to the now closed off showers clearly state "BEING REMEDIED FOR MOLD". My presumption based on this locations history is that this leak and mold issue will likely NOT be fixed expeditiously - not being able to shower prior to my work shift after sweating is not ideal. I am now having to look at Golds Gym within the same proximity so that I can continue my morning workout schedule as I require shower facilities after working out prior to heading into work - a major inconvenience considering I've been a member of PF for over a decade at this point with this gym being my primary. Not stoked about having to carry/pay for 2 gym memberships nor am I even sure Gold's Gym offers a month to month option with no contract; at this point, however, I am not sure I have any other option in the interim. It wasn't just a matter of the weight I had packed on in the past few years. I also knew I was terrible at holding myself accountable to actually go and DO the workout. I'd make every excuse possible; work is too busy, it's too far, it's too expensive, I can do it on my own.... (fill in the blank). After talking to a few trainers (at other companies), I settled on Shawn who had been introduced to me several months prior in relation to Real Estate (I'm a Realtor). I reached out, and found his approach to be thoughtful, well prescribed and he actually LISTENED! I explained the health challenges I had, what my expectations were, and what experiences I had with working out. I simply cannot work out at super intense levels with my health concerns. I wanted a trainer who would be willing to understand this and not just throw me a generic workout plan because that's all they know. In terms of Shawn himself and everyone at FxFit... awesome! Shawn is very accommodating with my ever changing schedule, when he was travelling for the holidays, he lined up a trainer to work with me. He sends workouts during the week to keep reminding me of what I could be doing this week in between workouts. He recently got Crossfit trained, and is always looking to improve his skill set as well. He know's his stuff, hires great trainers, is humble, thoughtful and actually listens. Mind you that I had been in physical therapy for 9 months prior to TrainLifeFit seeing me--the pt had helped but pain relief and correct posture only lasted 2 hours after each session. I was pleasantly shocked at the relief Sumair provided, corrected my posture by releasing muscles that were constricted and he explained to me that my weak lats were a big source of my issues. Going into my second session, I'm feeling confident that my correct posture will return and my pain vanished, hoping to avoid surgery.

I've been training with Sumair for almost a year, so buckle in, this is a long, thorough review!…read more Before I came to see Sumair, I had struggled for years with back and hip issues. I had an extreme lack of mobility, and my pain was at about a 7 or 8 every day. I was limping around at age 36 like a much older person. At that point I had tried everything - tons of physical therapy, 4 different trainers, chiropractors, massage...nothing worked. When I began with Sumair, I couldn't do much of anything. I mean, I had zero range of motion and very little strength. If you're feeling self conscious or scared, please don't let that stop you, we have all been there, and I would argue that is where TrainLifeFit really shines. Sumair has built TLF to be a holistic program. What makes it so great is that it is a body/mind/emotions program. What does it matter if you can do a proper push up if your mind has been programmed to believe that you CAN'T do things because you "just don't have the body for it"? Because I am petite and small, that's what I had been told. I'd also been told that my pain was just my "new normal," and to get used to it, so Sumair also had to help me overcome my sad sad sad mental programming about my body. He also taught me about mechanics and how to recognize what was going on with my body. That understanding was reinforced through the homework he gave me, so now I have the ability to identify what's happening and work through it on my own. That's important for the other days when I'm not training with him, and I cannot overstate how much it improved my relationship with my body. I now understand it and know what it needs. So my result is, less than a year later, my pain is at about a 1. I have gained significant strength, stability and muscle mass. My winter coat didn't fit this year because my arms and back had gotten bigger! My mobility is excellent and I have recently begun to run again, an activity I had been told wasn't available for me anymore. But most importantly, I trust my body. I know it is capable of much more than I had been told. I understand it, I have a vocabulary to describe what is happening with it, and I no longer treat it like an annoying employee by getting frustrated when it doesn't do what I say. So you can train anywhere. But if you want a transformation, I recommend TrainLifeFit.
