There's plenty of free parking in the plaza where the museum is located. & speaking of free - there is no entrance fee to get in to the museum! We were greeted right away by the friendliest woman who gave us a donkey spiel & then offered to take a hilarious video of us (please watch it - it's attached to this review). The museum is equal parts informative & quirky. I loved all of the historic donkey photos & giggled at the wooden donkey figurines. I just wish I had longer to spend here so I could read every single photo caption. There's a cute little trinket section (I wish there was more - I would buy more!) & an option to donate to the museum. Donate! Keep this adorable little function alive. I will absolutely stop by again when I'm in the area. Thank you for educating my ass at the Donkey History Museum!!

The owner allowed us to bring food and drinks since we were having a private party. He gave us great tips on different techniques, and made us feel welcome and appreciated. It was only a few days before our works were fired and ready for pick up. We were all proud of ourselves and agreed that we should do it again. I can't confirm that this one is run by volunteers, but it definitely has the small-town feel. We were greeted by a woman who was excited to give us the spiel about how the town was settled (Mormon pioneers that traveled south from Salt Lake City looking to plant cotton). She also proudly showed us the story board that she was creating herself. It changes out each quarter and tells the whole story of the town, the commerce and the culture. She also said that she's working to get it online so it can be enjoyed by people all over. The museum itself is small but stuffed with old history and artifacts of the past. It was really dark inside-I'm not sure if they didn't turn on the lights or if it's just that way, but it felt kind of eerie.

The Clark County Fair and Rodeo is a fantastic county fair out in the middle of nowhere…read more You drive from Vegas like you are going towards Salt Lake City which means leaving Nevada for Arizona by way of Mesquite. Just when you are out in the desert, before Mesquite, you turn off toward Logandale and in just a few miles you find parking for the county fair. Once you enter the gates to the fair you feel transported to someplace else. It is green and has shade trees everywhere. Locals are pulling out their camping chairs and claiming their spots underneath a canopy of old trees. It seems like a giant family picnic or reunion. Off to the left is a building hosting artwork, photography, and a ton of crafts. There is a little shop inside with inexpensively priced snacks and drinks. There was a face painter on the way out of that building as you work your way to the large entertainment building with a terrific stage and seating area. We saw illusionists, a hypnotist, bands, and a drumming duo - show after show after show. Then back outside we saw strolling jugglers, a baseball comedy fire show, a one-man band, and many vendors. Beyond the myriads of vendors was a building full of more vendors including one selling amazing fudge. Back up towards the office we saw another stage with a lot of dancers. Then there were some barns and other buildings working our way back around the fairgrounds. Beyond that was the carnival full of great rides and games and vendors from Brown's Amusements. We spent the entire day there and had so much fun. When we told my dad about it, he insisted on going next year. So, we have plans to visit him in Vegas and take him to the 2026 Clark County Fair and Rodeo.

Danny Brown had a ton of rides for all ages. There was a ton of entertainment. I loved the little store inside the first building, they had delicious homemade treats to eat and take home. There was so much entertainment to watch and enjoy. There was a great food row, and so many vendors to visit. I will enjoy this fair for years to come!

I went to this festival on a Sunday morning for the 7:30am liftoff. I saw this event on the news…read moreand told myself, I absolutely had to come because I've always wanted to see hot air balloons! I drove all the way from Las Vegas and was excited to watch these balloons fly out! There is ample parking at Casablanca Resort and you can just walk across the street where the balloons are set up at. It was a little chilly so definitely bring a coat and sunglasses since it will be super bright too. BUT... the balloons didn't get to fly up! Unfortunately, weather also plays a big part too in how the balloons go up and sadly, weather did not permit for the hot air balloons to go up. But it was nice because the guy leading the announcement was very professional and allowed the hot air ballon to static or go up for a little bit to show the height and volume of these balloons which was really cool! I loved how educational everything was and how the pilots were showing how things worked and what the actual basket looked like (it's literally like how I saw it in the movies - an ACTUAL basket)! They also have a show at night as well. It was nice to see an event like this and seeing the display of colorful balloons being blown up. If you haven't ever experienced a hot air balloon festival, you definitely have to come! I will be back especially since I didn't get to see the balloons go up this time around. I don't remember seeing food or drinks at this venue so it's good to get something to eat or drink beforehand. There's a gas station nearby though for you to get things.

Rooster's Cottage Consignment Gallery (RCCG), however, has no such identity crisis. It's a consignment store, both and name and what it provides: Modern Southwestern consignment. It seems about perfect for the landscape of Mesquite, Nevada. RCCG has a lot of furniture, with an emphasis on the Southwestern motif: deep browns, taupes, turquoises, a lot of wood and leather. They have several "showrooms," which is great for those who love that style but can't quite figure out how it should go together. You'll find plenty of couches, love seats, arm chairs, recliners, dressers, credenzas, coffee tables, bar stools, dining tables, accent tables, nesting tables, ottomans, dressers, throw pillows, clocks, area rugs, and the rest. They also have a lot I would consider to be female-friendly accessories you'd find at almost any Michaels, JoAnn Fabrics, or AtHome: Warm-and-fuzzy signs with phrases like "Bless this Mess" and "I Love You Like Biscuits and Gravy"; repro paintings; cutesy signs with cutesy animals on them, coffee mugs, scarves, candles, jewelry (much of it handmade); and several signs, magnets, and other accessories that would be perfect for those wanting to share their passion for wine. While I'm not the target audience for RCCG, it's an excellent store that's perfect for those passionate about Southwestern style.
