Nice park. We wanted…read moreto enjoy the early evening weather and take a stroll. We stopped by Debusk Park since they have a nice walking/jogging path. The trail runs all the way around the park. Most of it is cement, but there are sections of it that are bridges made out of wood, so watch your step. It helps break up the monotony of running on you average sidewalk. The path goes up and down some nice hills, through heavily wooded areas, and right along the side of some residential streets. There is a opening where you run next to and cross over a creek, so I can imagine that the mosquito population here can be pretty heavy. Be careful and wear some DEET. Probably the crown jewel of this park (for some people, not for me), is this huge play ground. When I say huge, I mean HUGE!!! It's a pretty massive structure of wooden beams and planks to climb and play on. The path cuts right by it, so if you take it the whole 1.44 miles around, you'll pass by it! Cool place if you want a change of scenery and a nice trail to walk. If you're close by, take a walk and enjoy Mesquite!

The park also includes Hubert Terry Athletic Complex which consists of 4 lighted baseball fields, 3 football fields, and a concession & restroom building. The spectator seating is covered with awnings. So, it helps keep you cool in the hot Texas sun. It also has ample parking.

Though very small and delicate, this would the perfect place for photography, read a book, even perhaps some meditation. There is unique stones statues placed here from, Dragons, to gargoyles, angels. The trees are delicately placed, some I have never seen before with many beautiful colors and foliage. I loved it when I came to check it out, many much parking so you may get luck if there is not many people there, which usually there are for taking pictures. It is not a big place, it is very small, but enough to take a nice little stroll and enjoy for whomever made this place available to the public. Note - When we arrived there are sign's at the entrances that say, in order to enter this property you had to call a number that was on the sign and ask for permission first before entering. I did not call, and just walked around admiring the garden as many others did. Though, if you do plan on going, enter at your own risk ( You prob should call and ask for permission first). Sadly I did not take a picture of the sign. I was probably only there 15 minutes at the most to enjoy the whole garden. I'd love to go back with my camera to take some nice pictures sometime. Samuell Farm is a cute farm in Mesquite, TX that recently hosted a farm fest which we attended. The…read morefarm itself is very spread out and the activities were a lot of fun. From potting plants to goat yoga and even a train ride, there was plenty to do. The fest was geared more towards kids so if you're planning for a day of fun in the area, put it on your calendar. It's also dog friendly so if you want to bring a furry friend you're able to. We had a lot of fun although you can do just about everything in around 30 minutes. There's a few food trucks as well if you're looking for a bite to eat and there were free gift bags on the way out with snacks, which were nice. A quick and cute event for adults, a day of fun for kids.

This is an old house turned into a party event house. Located here at Westlake Park with easy…read moreaccess to all the park has to offer. It is nice and roomy inside with a couple of different rooms along with a big open kitchen. Wooden floors, fireplace and lots of great windows makes the inside feel like a big family meeting place. Bet it would be hella cool during the winter to have a party there. There was plenty of lawn room outside for kids to run around in if they get bored inside. Shoot maybe even do some fishing at the pond just across the parking lot. All in all this seems like a great place to rent out if you need the room.
