We love mesquite furniture and had been looking for a coffee table. We needed a custom size and stopped by Mesquite Interiors to look around. We had a long conversation with Rudy, asking many questions. One question was about getting some turquoise or metallic accents in the table. Mesquite Interiors does not do this because it doesn't last. We got a complete explanation of the drying of the boards and why you get a lifetime guarantee. You truly get what you pay for. The coffee table has a live edge (but not rough). While there, we saw some sofa end tables and got one. It has a small drawer which hides remotes and chargers. We were then greeted by the owner and began describing what we need. The door opened and another couple entered. They were greeted and then engaged by the owner in a long conversation. What brings you in? Where do you live? Where do you work? Let me tell you about the chairs you're interested in. Let me tell you about the source of our mesquite wood in Mexico. All the while we sat twiddling our thumbs. As we walked out the door the owner seemed surprised and called out to us. We kept walking. Common courtesy would not have kept us waiting. We bought two very large square top mesquite/iron end tables. Artistry and quality were a step above what we've seen in other stores around town. One was on-hand in the store so Rudy contracted with his artisan in Mexico to make its twin. This process took a while but the result was excellent. Rudy delivered the pieces himself and made sure we understood how to care of them before leaving. This is my second review. First one did not get posted. We shopped this fine store a few years ago when staying in the vicinity for the winter. Now that we own a home a return to Mesquite Interiors topped our "must go" list. On several visits we admired really beautiful tables, chairs and accent pieces. Although we weren't quite ready to buy, we purchased a table for our kitchen and have now owned it for a month or two. It was the first piece of furniture we bought in Tucson and is the one we most enjoy and admire. Part of the pleasure the table brings is, obviously, the terrific craftsmanship. But too, joy comes from meeting the owner, Rudy, a person who exemplifies "integrity" and "good guy". We're in need of other pieces of furniture, and when remodeling is done, we'll return to Mesquite Interiors, the place in Tucson with the nicest mesquite and owner. read more

I wanted a mesquite coffee table and saw what I wanted in Tubac. But I wanted to give a Tucson store my business so I met with the owner of this store. He has beautiful furniture but his customer service is the worst I've ever encountered and will never custom order a piece from him again. Better be safe and buy something in stock. His promise of delivering the coffee table in 6-8 weeks was drawn out to 16 weeks. Every time I talked to him he had an excuse as to why it wasn't done. I was ready to get my deposit back but didn't want to start the process over. He was even rude when I told him I was NOT happy with his customer service. So beware and don't believe his promises. read more
