The office manager, Jennifer, kindly called me to ask why I wanted to be apart of the practice again. I explained that I was willing to give them a second chance, they have several (12) doctors to choose from. Dr. Adams was the one I chose. I was told by Jennifer that Dr. Pelletier and Adams cover for each other so it wouldn't work out for me. I then was told that their billing practices had not changed either..what? No one was talking about billing issues. It was then I knew my review was read. Jennifer said perhaps Generations wasn't a good fit. I said that Generations had been a good fit for 20 years and because of one doctor the experience changed. She then told me "We don't think you are a good fit for US! Good luck to you!" WOW really! So, in a nutshell, time to move on. Happy Jennifer pointed out that the customer doesn't matter, that customer service is not a priority. What could have been an excellent customer service moment for them: "We see you had a poor experience with one of our doctors, perhaps Dr. Adams would be a better fit" "You had a poor billing experience, how could we have done better?" I've had a number of bad doctor experiences over the years, but this was by far the worst. Dr. Larson was recommended to me when I first moved to the Portland area and didn't know where to start when it came to finding a doctor. I've been lucky enough to stay pretty healthy over the past few years, so I didn't have to see her often, but I don't think there was ever a time I walked out of her office thinking 'Wow, I'm so glad this woman is my health care provider.' The straw that broke this camel's back was a recent experience over the 4th of July holiday. I called the office on the 4th (which was a Thursday) and left a message, acknowledging the holiday and asking to please be called ASAP. I did not get a call until the following Wednesday, which is an eternity later when you're sick. The other staff her is generally uninterested and slightly unpleasant, and when I signed up for their online services I started getting spam emails and phone calls. In the time that I used Dr. Larson as my physician, she referred me to an incompetent ENT who retired a few weeks after seeing me (so glad I trusted my gut and got out of there before engaging in procedures that would have needed months of follow up). Maybe we're getting too personal now, but my point is that this was the worst doctor I've ever been to, and people shouldn't have to suffer through mediocre health care, especially when there are awesome doctors out there (and it's not like we don't pay for the visits).

I saw her on at least 5 occasions, and each time, I found her staff professional and pleasant. During examinations, she answered all of my questions thoughtfully, and I found her very personable in her interactions with me. Dr. Larson's style of care I would describe as non-interventionist and holistic: she was not eager to prescribe medications for every little thing, and she asked me a lot of questions not just about specific ailments but about my broader health and well-being. I wish I had written a review before I moved away from Portland since I would remember more specific details, but I truly miss her medical care and expertise. I found her superbly professional and knowledgeable. And this is a more minor issue, but I found the fact that her offices are located in the ground floor of a building that was formerly a large home very comforting. The examination rooms were all properly clinical, certainly, but the rooms had real furniture and were warm and comfortable. In some ways this felt like visiting a traditional family doctor. Medical care has become, if anything, too impersonal and clinical. I really appreciated how Dr. Larson took care to create an environment for her patients that felt more like a welcoming space for her practice. I really can't recommend her highly enough.

I had a frozen shoulder ( which is quite painful!) that began a few months after I took a very hard fall. Dr Lou treated me with adjustments and acupuncture. Frozen shoulder takes 1-3 years to heal. I was moving my shoulder with much less pain and slowly increased range of motion within a couple of months! My sports medicine physician recommended the acupuncture for the pain. I'm here to say it works! I'm 8 months into my frozen shoulder diagnosis and I'm 99% better! Range of motion is back and the pain is minor at worst. She had been going here for years and swore by them. So, I made an appointment and kept it! And, you know - here it is about 5 months later and I'm really glad I did. I met with Dr. Cayer for an initial assessment which included x-rays and thermo scans. From here, he sat down and showed my where my "problem" areas were and shared with me a treatment plan. It seemed like an aggressive plan - 4 weeks with 3 visits per week, 4 weeks at 2 per week, and then onto a maintenance plan of once a week Now, I must admit a couple things. One - getting "cracked" scared the crap out of me. And, two - I wasn't really sure I believe it would help. Well - the getting "cracked" part is still very weird to me, but I definitely believe it works. My back is SO MUCH better. I have bad days here and there, but they are few and far between. And, the pain doesn't stop me from doing anything anymore. I look forward to my weekly visit - and it only takes 5 minutes. In and out! I've also used their massage therapy services and Mindy has given me the best massages I've had - at a much lower price point than any of the fancy spas I've visited in the past. His receptionist, Robin, is also great. She makes scheduling and paying quick and easy. The bad news: Christopher's wife is in charge of his business, and all of her decisions seem to be bad ones. There is no working wi-fi for customers or staff; they don't have a working printer or fax machine; their billing program no longer works because they refuse to upgrade from Windows 7 to the latest, Windows 11; they do not maintain their office, so the stairs up to their second floor are rickety and difficult during rain or snow. And all these complaints are of long standing; his wife doesn't even care that I have offered to fix their wi-fi for free.
