I was turned onto this place when I picked up a CVO. Jim and his crew are THE recognized leaders with the big engines (although they are renowned for standard bikes too!). I've gotta say, Jim does a great job . . . and he stands behind his work. I've been going to him for almost 3 years now, and he's always done right by me. Last October, he did an upgrade from a stock 96 to a 103 (had to wait a little longer than I'd a liked), and did a great job! Picked up the bike and had an issue with scratches on the chrome and he took responsibility for it and made it right. He's good people. He gives you honest service and explains everything to you so there's no surprises. He has a good eye for detail and his honest, straight-forward attitude is really refreshing. Bad Business, Super Basic Mechanic. Unfinished work and unprofessional. Didn't want to/Couldn't finish work on Harley Davidson said bike wasn't what he normal does but took bike anyways just to not finish work and let bike sit for over a month before calling me to tell me to come get it and he wasn't going to be working on it anymore. Tried to charge me 580$ for rear tire and handle bar installation.. idk if it was because he thought I was young and not knowledgeable but he Complained the whole time and didn't finish work. Bike got finished at another shop, timely with no rip offs and with no hassle. Give MidNight Mechanic's a try they do great work and are very professional!!! read more

I was looking for a local shop to take my Iron 883 to for a scheduled 45k maintenance. This was close to my house and I was able to get an appointment in 2 days. I ended up getting a broken upper belt guard welded back together and spray painted black too! (I had it held together with a plastic zip tie because I didn't want to deal with buying a whole new part) and new rear brakes too. The whole thing took less than a day, and at a reasonable price! My Harley Vrod was running terribly. Terrible MPG, backfires and performance. Took it to Harley Dealer and they couldn't fix it or find anything wrong with it and charged me $1000. Then took it to highly reviewed Dyno tune shop $500 and they gave it back to me running the same. Then took it here and WOW these guys know what they are doing! Jim took so much time and care to find the problem and did it all almost immediately, and for much less then the other mechanics. After taking my motorcycle to performance plus In berkeley 3 times, i was done with them. My nephew told me about metal dragon and ask for jim. After talking to jim on the phone i immediately brought my bike to jim. In about 15minutes jim knew what was wrong with my bike and what wasant wrong with my bike. After discussing the problem with my bike , jim informed me that my bike possibly needed some major work. We spoke about the costs and work, but jim was honest and assured me that he would do his best to fix my bike. In less than a week jim contacted me and informed me that my bike was running strong and running great!
