Not dog-friendly and overpriced. They will also scold you like a child if you misbehave. We were due a refund from this place, however they don't refund your money until you've left the park!! Because I hadn't heard anything via email or text I was forced to call asking where my money was!! Unacceptable behavior!! Also, we believe there are cameras everywhere in this park based on a phone call we received when we were doing laundry telling us we cannot park in the spot next to ours when the place was basically empty. This place tends to treat you like a child. They are NOT respectful. And to them, the customer is always wrong. Chris and Amanda are not professional. And, Chris, said nothing after every thank you, I honestly couldn't believe it. RUDE is what he is. The noise level is high here due to the vicinity of the train tracks and the interstate. They also own and run the Meteorcrater park which is interesting to see, but skip the gift shop as everything is overpriced. Also, they don't give a senior discount or any other discount for that matter. Just find another RV park to stay at, or just park your RV in the parking lot of the Meteorcrater park, check it out, and leave. Name it horrible place would not recommend to anyone especially for 75 dollars a night . Laundry room is coin operated but they do not have coins available and it closes at 4:30pm so not much help to travelers. Bought a loaf of bread in the store got back to campsite which was a long walk to discover that something had chewed thru the bag. Took it back in the morning and the manager said should have brought it back last night. Are you kidding no apology no nothing. So don't be fooled by the website boasting about all the amenities! Long story short, we made a reservation on the road in the afternoon for that night. With limited cel service we didn't receive and review the confirmation email until after the 4pm cut-off to apply for after hours access to the park when we were scheduled to arrive that evening. We arrived at 8pm, were locked out and had to make other arrangements. We called the next day, spoke with an unpleasant representative and asked for a refund of our $80 for services not received. The rep said no, I asked to speak with the manager, Amanda. The rep wouldn't put me through to her and said I could send an email. Sent 2 emails, no response. This was the only RV park staff in our 12 different park experience over 2 weeks that was not wonderful to deal with .. bummer. read more

Beautiful location and nice sites but definitely would NOT call it "dog friendly". They only "tolerate" dogs. The manager, Amanda is unprofessional and unpleasant to interact with. Be careful walking your dog around outside of the "dog park" areas. If staff see your pet do their business while you're walking towards the dog area, you will be scolded like a child. Upper management is unfamiliar with and does not respect AZ state tenant laws. I highly recommend any of the other RV parks in Winslow or Flagstaff for stays more than a week. read more

It was difficult to get ahold of this park by phone as many places are just going to reservations by internet. We checked in, they do have a military discount, but you have to do it at the desk. The $75 deposit doesn't get credited toward your stay, it gets refunded to you after your stay, which is found strange. The park is decent, typical one or two night stays for most people because there isn't much around to do. The spaces are small. Our truck and trailer measures around 65 feet total and we had to park the truck sideways to fit in the spot. The bathrooms are decent, each separate. The little store is good but if you need groceries you have to either go to Winslow or Flagstaff, 20-30 minutes away. There are 3 W/D in the community room but you need to get there early! There is a decent size dog park with two sides, big enough to through the ball. There are dog poop stations but none of them had any bags so bring your own. Other than that, it was a decent stay. The view to the mountains was nice and you are only 5 minutes from Meteor Crater. read more

We spent 4 days here with 2 adults and 2 kids. The site didn't have any other families so that was a bummer. Almost everyone we saw used the site as 1-2 night pit stop. Very few stayed as long as us. There's not a lot to do here. Most of the land is privately owned, so even if you're outdoorsy you can't hike the area for nature trails. Meteor Crater museum is 6 miles away and is a good attraction, but it's pricey so one visit suffices. If you wanted activities to do you'd have to travel to Winslow or Flagstaff. The site is clean and staff is friendly and helpful. Amenities are on par, but nothing above and beyond. The little convenience store they have is a nice add on. The septic hookups are not functional while they complete upgrades. So right now (Sept 2022) the campground is not truly a full hook up. It's not too terrible of an inconvenience because there is a dump station, however the downwind from the dump area is pretty bad. Because of this the flies are insurmountable. Any time spent outdoors you are fighting the flies constantly. For those reasons we wouldn't come back, but do recommend it for a 1 evening stay combined with the museum. read more

Great pit stop and RV park! We stopped here on our road trip just to use the bathroom and grab some water. We were pleasantly surprised by the whole thing! The history and architecture of the building is really interesting. Inside the geodesic dome is a well-stocked convenience store. Just outside the convenience store are picnic tables in the welcome shade of trees. (Behind, there is a gated lot for the RV park) The inside of the building has clean bathrooms, cool decoration, an upper level, and a TV room for those who are residents of the RV park. The convenience store is stocked with snack items, some prepackaged to-go meals, as well as a full area for RV service items like hoses, etc. The whole place had a really nice feel. During this Covid-19 ordeal, it's been hard to find public bathrooms that aren't... worrying. At the time that we went, the bathrooms were freshly cleaned and amazing! We complimented the cashier on them, whose nametag read Jot (I think?), and he said he had just cleaned them. He did a great job! We didn't use the RV park, but from what we saw it looked great. If you're looking for a place to stop on your trip, this is definitely somewhere you'd want to! read more

My wife and I checked in on Sunday and checked out today. We chose Meteor Crater RV Park due to the number of positive reviews. We were also burned out from the summer temps in Phoenix and wanted to head North. After having been stuck inside for so long due to COVID-19, we opted for a camping trip to the Meteor Crater RV Park. The park is located off I-40 outside of Winslow. Apparently, the owners of the Meteor Crater private land also own the Mobil gas station AND the RV Park. Do NOT let the fact that the park is behind a gas station deter you from staying here. It sounds odd, I know. It sounds kinda sketchy, I know. It isn't. Read on... We checked in inside of the Mobil gas station and the employees are SO friendly and nice! They got us all the info we needed and the entire process went incredibly smooth. All of the entrances and exits leading in and out of the RV park are locked up, gated and secure. My wife and I always felt incredibly safe. It was very nice! All of the spots and pull-through. The park itself is incredibly clean and very, very quiet. We do not have any children, but I don't think it's a park that would be especially suited to a younger crowd. There's a little playground area, but not much else to keep kids occupied. It seemed to be a park that a lot of people were using to stopover for the evening and then head out right away the following morning. It was not terribly busy at all when we checked in on Sunday. We stayed for a total of three nights and four days. I would have given Meteor Crater RV Park a better Yelp score, however, the bathroom / shower situation was absolutely horrendous. We were across from the shower building. There are (6) private rooms all equipped with their own toilet, sink and shower which was incredibly nice. When we arrived on Sunday, the bathrooms were spotless except we noticed right away that three of the six bathrooms were out of order. I e-mailed the park right away and they did send someone out to investigate. The problem is after maintenance / housekeeping reviewed the situation on Sunday, they never returned again during the entire length of our stay. When we left this morning, none of the bathrooms had toilet paper. None of them had any soap. The bathrooms were filthy. Some of the glass shower doors were off the track. The trash cans were overflowing with garbage. Since none of the bathrooms had toilet paper, I'm guessing patrons were then flushing the paper towels resulting in clogged toilets. The whole thing was a disaster which is really unfortunate as we enjoyed our stay, otherwise. Overall, a clean, quiet park and worthy of a camping trip if they can somehow find a way to get the bathroom / shower situation under control. read more

METEOR CRATER RV PARK 10/22 Nice park, full hookup and electric and water only. Gated, sort of, front gate with code, which they don't give you so it is for leaving. Side manual gate, which is supposed to be closed at night. Seems a waste of gates. Why not employ them correctly and have some security. Fence around is a three wire, useless also except maybe animals. Wi-Fi seems good, cellular is good also. Amenities: fuel discounts, book & DVR exchange, basketball, cornhole, horseshoes, parlor games, foosball table, free coffee in clubhouse, fuel station & store. Did not hookup to water or sewer so don't know about water. Only here one night. ========WATCH OUT FOR THORNS ON THE GROUND ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE DOGS. The crater is a short drive from the park, so we parked and headed off immediately. As others have noted, there's just not a lot to do in the area. On our way to Phoenix, we decided to visit Meteor Crater. We had lived less than two hours from it for more than 10 years when we lived in Phoenix, but just had not put it in our bucket list. If you stay here, you get a discounted admission to the Meteor Crater site. It is a very nice park with level graveled parking areas. There is a automatic gate with code to keep anyone other than registered guests out of the park. There are grassy areas, a group area and a pet area. It backs up to the desert and when we were there, winds were howling all day and all night long. We were down-wind from a large milking cow farm so you can imagine the smell. In the mornings, there is a gathering room where free coffee is served, WiFi is available and a large TV plays morning new feeds. The bathrooms and showers are clean. read more

Wonderful location along I-40. As it is winter, there was great availability for the night. The restrooms are clean and each small room has sink, shower, and toilet. One bathhouse has laundry facilities. There is a rec room for RV guests on the backside of the gas station building. Free coffee served in there each morning. Staples available to purchase in the station as are souvenirs. Bonus is the $2 discount off adult admissions to Meteor Crater. And 5 cents off each gallon of gas bought. The only reason for docking from a 5 is that they do not have water access for campers when the temps dip down. They had heat traces on the water for full service sites. However, it was too far from the power supply to use our heated hose. I do like the location and how you could make it your "base camp" if you have a separate vehicle to drive on day trip outings. Also, the night time sky is amazing since there is little light pollution. I would have stayed out looking longer if it wasn't single digit temps. read more

Went to office to pay and it was no charge since husband was active duty air force. They sponsor a great program Tents For Troops. They also have bath house and day room with TV and free coffee. I struggled to find a place in Flagstaff and I noticed this spot as I turned off to the Meteor Crater. Not only was the price good (40 for a night) but the shower facility was nice and laundry. We have stayed at Meteor Crater six times. You can't miss it. Seventeen miles west of Winslow and it's surrounded by trees. The staff is friendly, they are members of Good Sam. We found out this year after your fourth stay the fifth one is free. The roads are gravel, but the sites are level. You can also tent camp. The rest rooms are clean and individually designed with a shower, sink and commode. Gas is sold out front with a five cent discount for park guest. There's a small convenience store and gift shop. If you're planning a visit to Meteor Crater a discount card. When we visit Winslow, this is our home base. You're also close to Walnut Canyon, Twin Arrows Casino and Grand Falls. We walk the old mother road into the sunset. You can still see remnants of Route 66. Full hookups. If you just want water/electric they're $5 less. All sites are pull through.
