Best Rv campgrounds you could ask for! From the moment we arrived the owner and staff were there to accompany us. Johnny the owner, & Danni & Ben the managers were nothing short of kind & friendly! The grounds are so clean with many amenities. If you're looking for a wonderful stay somewhere on your travels don't hesitate in booking your stay here you won't be disappointed. We booked our next stay for 2025 & can't wait to come back! Oh and not to mention we were there celebrating a 50th bday and the last night there Danni the manager brought a bottle of vino & card for the bday girl!!! Thank you again! Deena & Chris Reinhard

Love Zane Grey RV Village. The staff goes the extra mile at every turn and we appreciate their consistent caring. This was our second stay here and we were very pleased. We ended up getting into the park late after office hours and they gave us everything we needed to know to do a self check-in. Our site was all ready for us and set-up was easy. We also requested to stay an extra night and they happily accommodated us. Then on our departure date, a young man on staff notice some low-level tree branches that were hanging down after some rainy days that were on top of our RV and he asked if he could have them removed so that we wouldn't hit them. They had someone there right away and took care of a potential problem and we were able to get on the road quickly. I like that the office contacts the guests via email or text to let folks know of any activity changes and communicates events. Great team work at this beautiful resort.

A lot of the trees and community area are very nice and light up at night so you can see where you're walking or going!

We love the property, activities and the friendly people! However was frustrated in the fact that there is only one (double camp space) that is not for permanent residence. However, they allow only one person to book both sites for over a year in advance! When nobody else has the option to book that far out... so if you want to go with a family where you can both be parked in a space together and your doors are facing each other you can't do that.. because of one person who receive special treatment! Because of these we probably won't be back

We've stayed at Zane Grey many times but it's been a few years. The owners have improved the park even more. if you need to relax but want an opportunity to socialize, this is your place. ZG offers a lot of activities and reasons to come out of your RV. Every where you look, there are conversation areas, games, hospitality rooms, clean and updated restrooms, a nice laundry room and most importantly, friendly and helpful staff. Thanks for a great stay.

We spent 3 nights here and did not want to leave. The managers Ben and Dany were so great-friendly, helpful and funny, we loved talking to them. The village is very welcoming, kept in excellent condition and is in the most beautiful location. Loved the dog park and lighted trail and live music and morning coffee/donuts and evening fire. They think of everything to make your stay here amazing! We will definitely be back.

Ask the Community - Zane Grey RV Village

Do you have any work camping jobs available for the winter? Been work camping 22 years?

Hello Diana - Thank you for your inquiry. Could you please call our office between 9-5 tomorrow at 928-567-4320 so that we can provide you an email to send your resume to and also get your contact information.

Do they have pull thru sites available? If not is it easy to back a fifth wheel into the sites. I know some places have trees or light poles on either side that make it really hard to get a giant fifth wheel backed into.

Yes, they have pull-thrus but the back-ins are nicer for privacy. They are plenty big enough to comfortably back in. Great park.

Can you have propane or wood fire pits here?

Hi Dave! Absolutely! We only allow propane campfires in enclosed rings at each RV site. However,…

Just don't expect a complete change of scenery. This is "high desert", which basically means it's the same old scenery, but more shrubs because it's a good 15 degrees cooler. You are not entirely escaping the summer heat, so if you're that sensitive, move further north. The campground itself is pretty boring. There's not enough open space to do much of anything but sit around and stare into the distance. It is also relatively flat, with no real hiking trails. If you like walking up tall things or participating in open-field sports like soccer and flag football, you will be disappointed. What's cool about this is the stream that flows through. It was 100 degrees out, but suddenly manageable as long as you sat next to the surprisingly cold water under plenty of shade. Walk a little bit upstream and downhill and you'll come across a shallow watering hole that appears to be the main attraction. But if you walk a good mile upstream, braving the terrible, terrible footing that is the seemingly endless off-trail pathway of large rocks, you will be rewarded. There's another large area for swimming, and the majority of campers won't bother going there. At roughly 5 1/2 feet, it's perfect swimming for just about anyone. But yeah...that's cool, but about the only thing (besides making s'mores) you'll really do here. It was cool for a one-night, one-day getaway if you want everyone in your life to leave you alone.

High clearance vehicle highly recommended - you go 14 miles on a dirt road ( not too bad ) then you make another 6 mile dirt road sketchy for sure ! The last bit of the road you will only be able to go in an off road vehicle. Honestly when you get to the plant there is a dirt road on your right with a closed road gate- this is going to be the easiest route - WARNING - if you want to adventure and find it yourself this is a spoiler alert Walk the road with the gate - stay on the dirt road there is a sign that says hot springs and has an arrow to the left - disregard and keep walking ... pay attention at about a mile for a foot path off to the left there is a rock with a patch of green paint on it ( it isn't super noticeable ) take that path straight toward the river. Once you reach the river you should be able to see a large rock with a big hole in it to your left and if you look carefully to the left you should see a palm tree from the old resort. Cross the river and head downstream for about quarter mile. If you happen to take the dirt road all the way until it dead ends into the river you can still cross here - about thigh deep - the part to crossing here is you have to cross the river twice and go through a grassy watery island then head downstream ... ( you'll see exactly where you should have crossed on your way to the springs. ) haha ... if you decide to take the path near the river - it isn't marked you just have to kinda follow others foot steps - you do have to scale some small rock formations if you find your self stuck in bamboo and find the road to your right you actually where you need to be . I suggest taking a picture of the trail since service is spotty . Definitely a place worth finding - but it is a little tricky - now that we adventures to find it it is easy but finding it the first time not so much - definitely give yourself a day to get there / enjoy and get back - the river was really cold and swift - grab a sturdy stick for balance .. bring water shoes !!! I did it barefoot and it is defining slick ...we got lucky to have only 2 people there when we showed up that left shortly after we got there but I have heard it can be really busy ( and naked )

Clothing is optional, so if you bring children don't expect everyone will cover themselves. 18+ recommended. Hot springs are approx 1 mile upstream from campground. There are 2 different pools , one has a block wall around it. Expect to help clean the pools if there when it's time. I've had great experiences there and very negative experiences there. Honestly though 3 out of 4 times is mainly a bunch of swinging old richards that make it creepy. Respect the nature and pick up your trash either way. It's beautiful there as well.

But honestly, it's worth every step! Just when you think you've reached the falls... you haven't. Keep going! The road in is pure washboard -- about 13 miles of bump city -- so make sure you have a 4-wheel drive and that nothing inside your car is loose. Fossil Creek is absolutely stunning, and bonus -- no permit needed after October 1st. The other thing says this trail is easy. No, it's not to be careful if you're taking somebody elderly over that doesn't have good mobility because there's some rocks you had a climb and what not also make sure you take plenty of water to drink and a little snack everything you pack in your pack. I would also suggest leaving the house by three 330. No later you don't wanna be hiking in the pitch dark.

I wish I knew more before going. I need to know more information about how things work at Fossil Creek. Even after going, though we enjoyed ourselves, I still don't know how it works. There were no signs telling you where you can access trails to get to the creek. You just had to guess. I found a trail at our Homestead parking lot, but it was very steep and a little dangerous. We found a spot okay in the shade but was very small for our party of 6. We worked so hard getting down there that we just made it work. After leaving we went up the road a little way in our vehicle to see what the other spots looked like, but I saw no bridge or easy access from The Bridge parking lot either, and the road was just way too bumpy. I hope my wife's suspension is okay on her Mazda CX-5. The information before going should've told us about the road and what to expect, basically how to plan. It's all a guessing game. I could've asked the Ranger lady more questions, but I didn't know what to ask. My boss made things sound different. Apparently you can't drive people to the waterfall trailhead anymore. You have to walk over 2 miles on a dusty dirt road in over 100 degrees with vehicles driving by kicking up dust. That makes no sense whatsoever. We enjoyed our time at the water. Everything else leading up to it and after it we could've done without. I don't see us coming back unless we have someone with better suspension and/or better knowledge of the area. Thank you.

RESCUED! Late…read moreafternoon on Sunday February 7th, we felt stranded... And then kept driving. I don't know what it is about this area - buuuuut, this lovely camp host was the ~only~ one to answer the phone, after calling nine others in the area, simply because they were on the way. Awash with relief, I thanked her profusely just for picking up the phone. She must have been surprised - I could hear the smile in her voice - she said "I always answer the phone." As it turned out, she was hosting in the RV Park, was ~already~ closed for the evening and had only one spot left, one! Yes, she'd save it for me. "Just call me as soon as you pull in - I'll meet you!" She was incredibly warm and welcoming, not put out at all to have met us after hours. You have no idea how grateful we were... after stewing over calling all the other places. We even had quite the disaster calling another place where we had stayed before... (read on - you can find it.) We were soooooooo tired from driving... The remaining spot was right up front, near the office and the shower, (which couldn't have been more perfect, since we got there in the dark) so we didn't have to hook up water. When we got up the next morning, we discovered it was landscaped and manicured beautifully, enormous spotless showers and paved. There were fabulous trees and picnic tables for all the sites. From reading the park map, I learned they're open year-round. We couldn't have custom ordered a nicer place! To have the host meet us after hours, essentially coming to our rescue, was nothing short of magnanimous. It's truly a thrill to share our adventure with others by posting. It's positively our privilege to have met her! We go through this area maybe once a year, and will certainly make this a regular visit. We can't wait to go back! Her sweet name was Geri!

The bunk beds squeak and the ladder rattles whenever a person is on them. One turnover at night and everyone wakes up to the rattles. The door is cracked and see thru light. Most of the 8 wagons doors are cracked. The people right next door were long term there. I have been to many RV resorts and not one had full time people living there. Met some residents there that have been living there over 2 years. A group of kids (teenager and preteens) arrived in the bathrooms for showers and took 3/4 and the floors were flooded after. Drains working but the kids were wild and noisy while in shower. No reason floors flooded by toilets and sink. I was doing laundry. Dogs taken into laundry room with sign that says no dogs allowed except service dogs. These dogs were not trained service dogs. The day before checkout, The next door neighbors were dropping F bombs every few words and the adults seem to be arguing with 2 young children, 1 an infant, were crying while adults yelling. The pool water was cloudy and the tile on the pool was filthy. The splash pad was so calcified and other minerals that the yellow, red colors were white looking. Looks like maintenance is lacking there a lot. Campers don't follow rules and no one is there to enforce. We left a day early because of the language going on and neighbors. Upon check out reported this to the person at checkout. She stated they have had some issues with the people, yet they are still there. Could be a great place, but needs cleaned up and campers need to be removed if can't follow rules. That comes from management. I would not go back.
