this is the worst hospital I've ever been to I asked them to take me to UT South cause that's the hospital that knows me they refuses to in sent me here they had to they tried to put IV in me four times the fifth I told them no they were telling me they had to have two IVs and that if I left, it'll be malpractice and stuff and I didn't care cause there as soon as I got there the EMS was flirting with the Nurse with his wedding ring on all the nurses were gossiping loudly. Was in the ER today for asthma attack and was there damn near 5 hours. They put me in a room with someone's blood on the floor. this hospital broke my back and organs during a bone marrow biopsy. I complained of stomach pain and they suggested putting cement in my spine I told them no so they wanted bone marrow. I ended up with injuries of my upper and lower spine being fractured, vertebrae collapsing, fractured left rib, collapsed lung fractured sternum and a surgical device implanted in my chest. They said I multiple myeloma cancer was responsible for my injuries. Recently I discovered I do not have multiple myeloma. So how did it cause my injuries when I don't have it. read more

Unless you're experiencing a true life-threatening emergency, I would not recommend coming here. We waited over 5 hours before being seen, and it was clear that non-critical cases are not prioritized -- you could end up waiting well into the night or even until the next morning. I brought my husband in because he needed help, but in hindsight, it would have been better to rest and see a specialist during regular hours. The care also felt rushed and lacking in confidence, as if the staff were overwhelmed or not fully experienced. It appeared there was only one doctor available for the entire hospital, which is deeply concerning for any medical facility. Overall, the experience left us frustrated and disappointed. read more

This was unfortunately the closest hospital for my step dad. As he struggled with renal failure and cancer, he continually got neglectful and untimely care (not ensuring that he was repositioned or stretched, not helping him eat). When he was eventually moved to hospice, they removed all monitoring as well as rehabilitative care so that we ended up being in the room with him past the time of his death for an unmeasurable time. We asked for at least a pulse oximeter for us to know his status, but it never happened. The communication was delayed and minimal at each step. read more

My mother fell and was taken to the emergency room. They said she had a broken rib. After day four of complaining, she asked for the head nurse. She received an MRI and found she had a broken shoulder. She was discharged and two days later she had Covid and Salmonella. She went back for an eight day stay. I'd give a zero if I were able. This place is worse than walking into a 24/7 clinic. Expect to be called back several times without ever getting to an Emergency Room. What happened to those days when you were called into a room to see a doctor? The doctor here comes out to you to basically say nothing is wrong with you but if you wanted you could wait for a room just don't ask him for a time frame because he's great at playing with his words. The doctor was Carlos Enrique Velasco who also deserves 1 star. Expect to give a urine sample and the only place to go pee is in the ER lobby. The bathroom was filthy and smelled like a homeless encampment. After you pee in a cup you'll take the cup and place it in a red bin with a dozen or more other urine cup samples. Seems like a HIPPA violation as I was able to read every person's name and other personal information. And this keeps getting better! I just went to CVS to pick up my prescription that Dr Carlos Velasco gave me. CVS could not find a prescription under my name. CVS reviewed their camera and did find that I dropped off a prescription. The pharmacist found the prescription but the prescription was written for a different person. Once again another HIPPA violation. I'd post a pic of the prescription here but don't want to be just like Dr Velasco. read more

Brought our mother in to the emergency department for chest pain. We sat for over 10 hours. Only saw the ED Dr once, he had horrible bedside manner. Walked in with scrubs on and no identification, failed to introduce himself, we only knew it was the Dr because 8 hours later when we complained they told us he had been in and who he was. They ran test after test, did lab work, ekg, and none of the results were communicated. The day nurse Kevin came to check on her twice, kept repeating they had results, but we were waiting on the Dr. The night nurse Erica walked in to take her blood pressure and we never saw her again unless I went out to the nurses station to speak with her. She told my sister who is a nurse calling from out of state that my mom was being admitted before we knew she was being admitted. She told her that she would go in and explain what was going on but never did. Erica also lied about contacting the specialist who was supposed to come speak with my mother, and pretty much avoided us the whole time even though I kept going out to get answers. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate. This is most likely a Medicare scam because I'm sure they will charge for more than necessary and the Dr. will bill all his minutes when he was only in to see her for 1 minute. This is the absolute worst hospital I have ever been to. From the time I arrive to the time of dismissal, it was nothing but terrible. My first couple of nurses where absolutely terrible. Even when I press the next button, my nice didn't come causing me to have an accident on myself. And then when I called the head nurse, he said everybody to my room, but he didn't come until I asked to be dismissed to go to another hospital. I had a IV in my arm. My nurse never checked it so all the medicine that was coming through. It ended up just being wasted.. I only went there because that's where the ambulance took me to. Never again. read more

WARNING! Please don't bring your loved one here or anyone for that matter. My brother was admitted through emergency recently. He left with a swollen arm due to negligence. Days later he had to go to another hospital to get treated for what turned out to be an infection and an abscess. The doctor that released him from Charlton told him that it's normal tissue damage!!! Even the nurses and the so called social worker were in on it! Unbelievable! Not to mention they treated him like a criminal by tying him to the bed and threatened to put him in a mental facility! He was confused, suffered from seizure and stroke and just wanted to go home. They kept him high on drugs that cased him to have eradicate behavior the entire time! It's pretty obvious all they want to do is get paid for admitting patients to mental facilities where they won't get treated for their actual illness when certain staff mention how habitual these inhumane acts are carried out daily! If I could give Methodist Charlton Hospital a ZERO I would. I first came to their Emergency room department Nov 2019. It was HORRIBLE since then EVERY visit is HORRIBLE. I have a on going medical condition that causes severe flare ups. Here are some things I have encountered while a patient there. No pain relief and once they give you what they feel even AFTER you kindly explain that doesn't work, they NEVER come in and ask are you ok how you feeling they just give me discharge papers and send me on my way. They have NO privacy among the patient a female urine was not marked the nurse allowed her to go through ALL the samples which one was mine until she found hers that is HIPPA no no!! I took pictures of the area a doctor came and asked where a patient was nurse while searching for apartments on company computer looked at him and said " I don't know". Methodist Charlton with the people serving the ill has created since the pandemic a better situation for those who are ill with heart concerns. I have been staying with such a person. Methodist Charlton lets only two people per person nurse those who are ill. This seems severe, but, it keeps the hospital orderly without too many people trying to visit. My daughter was so worried she would miss her long planned vacation due to her precious dad's heart concerns. Her dad was admitted almost two weeks ago, to receive two stents. He has gradually become much more healthy as the days have gone one. His granddaughter has called every day, beginning at five times per day from her vacation. I have been helping her brother, age 62, with the needs of their grandfather. It has been my honor to be with him during the days, helping him to understand his health and what will be next in his care. read more

What can I say. We had a small emergency, and this place was a mixed bag for sure. Most of the people we dealt with were nice, but all it takes is one mean nurse to spoil the visit. Yup we got a quippy one for sure. Not to mention the amount of time they kept us here. Entirely too long. Oh well at least we don't live here, and have to use this hospital regularly. I JUST Left there yesterday for a surgery (which my doctor was good and I am going to let him know of this experience) but today I still had the same pain that I went in for the surgery for and nothing changed. I was sitting in the waiting room and some male mexican dude came and told me to go to the room and take off my hoodie because he was going to start an IV on me. I waited there for over 10 minutes while this other nurse across from me kept asking the other nurse why I was just sitting there and was I her patient. I sat there long enough for her to get through seeing two patients and then I just said I had enough.... As,I was walking out of the door mad as hell, that's when the lady wanted to follow behind me calling my name talking about she was calling for me and looking for me all over the place. THEN they started talking about I had to go back into the waiting room because I left and they couldn't find me, I said man I am out of here I will just go somewhere else because you all are just lying and I don't want to be around or be treated by liars. I went there yesterday with a swollen and severely painful right index finger. Not sure if I ever met a doctor, but the first person that saw me was named Austin and he immediately ordered a pain pill and an x-ray. Found a bad infection and it has gone into the bone. He wanted to keep me, drain the infection and start IV antibiotic. An IV line was placed. The female PA stuck her head in the room and asked if I had insurance and when I said no, the IV was immediately removed and I was handed my walking papers. For severe pain she sent me home with Ibuprofen, and of course the infected finger. It was explained to me that could easily lose this finger and the infection will end up getting into my bloodstream. I had wonderful insurance for 35 years and I can't help that because of this scam insurance crap my BC/BS was cancelled like so many millions of others. read more

This hospitol is the worst hospitol in the world!!! I have personally known or know someone's immediate family member who has died in this hospitol in upward of twenty people. My Mom and my best friend died there too. If you want them to die take them here because the place is probably an organ transplant hub. For labour and delivery is quite the opposite. Their staff is very professional and caring. I only have good things to say about their labour and delivery department. The best hospitol I know of and you want the person to live, then take them to Methodist Dallas Medical Center 1441 N Beckley Ave Dallas, TX 75203 I know of three different people that went their, two of them having surgeries and all of them had good experience at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. This Charlton Methodists hospital at 3500 W. Wheatland Rd. Dallas Texas is the worst hospital ever. I went there on 10/10/2018 by ambulance to the emergency room do to a kidney stone , dehydration severe pain you couldn't even imagine and a severe infection in my kidney. Well after some exrays they promised to take good care of me and would remove the kidney stone so they did a quick botched up surgery and then realized that the stone was to large to remove at the time so they kept me there at the hospital for a couple days and then told me to go home and that a Urologist would later contact me and set up surgery so they could remove the kidney stone. Well after reviewing my insurance situation they basically tossed me out in the cold mind ..you with a Nephrostomy tube still lodged in my kidney . I asked to make some kind of payment arrangements but they wanted me to pay an outrageous amount of money up front. My mother was in the Emergency Room for over 16 hours She tested positive for covid. They started her treatment off with steroids antibiotics and vitamins. Convalescent Plasma was ordered while in the Emergency but they waited till she got admitted to the floor for the plasma to be administered. I would think that getting treatment of convalescent plasma as soon as it was ordered by an MD and ready to give would be the model of early treatment cause we are talking about a vulnerable 78 year old woman. The hospital needs to focus on turn around time on treatments for Covid 19!and not delay because timing is very important in recovery of this virus!!! read more

I had 2 surgeries there and their billing dept. kept harassing me for deductible payment to be made before my 1st surgery. I paid them $2000.00 deductible instead of paying my doctor, and there you go the hospital took forever to submit there bills. Now 1 month later I'm having a hard time trying to get them to refund me the money. This guy in billing named Joel acts as if its his money instead of the hospital that he works for. Last time I'll ever go here, ******DON'T GO HERE-STAY AWAY*** This place did all kind of test on me without checking for preapproval with the insurance which I thought was taking care of, nothing no checking, they just did what ever they could to jack up the bill, in one day, 24 hours, they racked up over 25K, they mentioned one more test but the guys couldn't be there until tomorrow. I said no I'm leaving now next I knew the guy shows up so fast to do one more test he went sideways with the machine in the door and it jammed in the frame. I went to have a procedure with dr.koro on mar 31. I had the procedure done but still had complications swallowing. I have been to the er twice had a barium swallow done and now am getting a ct scan done. The unfortunate thing is. I had to track dr koro down for help as he seems very unresponsive and so is his staff very disappointed. read more
