I came in with documented acute injuries including right ankle sprain, bilateral leg paralysis, and muscle atrophy following a fall. My CT showed severe advancing degenerative disc disease and the radiologist recommended an urgent MRI. The ER refused to admit me, refused to order the recommended MRI, refused an orthopedic consult, and falsely documented my reason for visit as social work rather than acute injuries. I was discharged unsafely as a disabled homeless patient despite being unable to walk without assistance. I did not sign my discharge papers because I did not agree it was safe. My walking cane was lost by the facility and despite contacting guest services, no one has made any effort to locate it. The level of disregard for a seriously ill disabled patient was shocking. I will be filing complaints with the Texas Medical Board, Disability Rights Texas, and pursuing further action. I do not recommend this facility to anyone who is disabled or seriously ill and needs to be taken seriously. read more

I was a patient in Methodist DALLAS hospital 4-south unit, and have the BEST nurse Salma M, for 3 consequences days, she wrote her name with smiling face on white board (I took picture of that white board with her name and smiling face) that makes me feel that she is not only ready for her job but she is glad to be my nurse. When I admitted to the hospital I was worried about my leg swelling, pain, and to be on that continue diuretic medications, but the way Selma makes it easier for me to understand that she print a educational pamphlets for me with pictures that makes me understand my disease process. I also have positive experience with Methodist doctors' team, but they only visit me for 30 seconds to 1 minutes, but nurses are the one who deals with me for whole 12-14 hours a day, which makes a big impact on my life. One of the nurse aid told me Salma works like 4-5 days a week, which is a lot, but I don't feel that way by her positive attitude and energy towards her patients, she always knocks my door and calls me "hi friend, are you ok lol", that already making me feel like I am not a sick person lol. I wish I would never be sick, but if I would I wants to be taking care of under methodist hospital 4-south nurse Salma M. I don't remember where she is from, but all I remember was her smiling face, positive attitude and funny talks which makes my day better. I would also like to share that, as a patient, I can tell we already have a stressful day going on with a lot of interruptions, lack of sleep, away from family, pain, inconvenience environment, but a positivity from a nursing staff truly changed my day. Wow, I love this hospital. They took care of my mom when she had a gall stone stuck in one of her tubes. I straight up thought it was time to make final arrangements, she looked so sick and yellow. But there is a really fantastic team here. They brought my mother back to life again and now she is back home running her mouth like she usually does. A kidney stone brought me to the Methodist Hospital Emergency at midnight on a Saturday/Sunday. I had surgery the next day to remove the stone. I remained in the hospital for six days. I was skeptical in coming here. I actually stayed at home thinking I could get better. I had not been to this hospital since 2006 (the emergency room staff told me). I looked around when I walked in the ER and I thought yeah no they are going to treat me like trash. It was sort of sketchy looking Nope! The professionalism is above par. Like I thought I was going to be told nothing is wrong. It did take awhile for me to be seen in the back after registration. But I was in pain and the best place to be is the hospital. I also thought I was going home the same day. Nope four days later I am in the hospital being given the best care I have ever received. Let me first shout out the ER Doctor and the internal medicine doctor (yeah their name slips me that felt I needed to be admitted). My nurse in ER Jason from Louisiana (ULM grad). The care this man gave me was excellent. We laughed, he kept me calm, he was professional but had a great sense of humor. If you are in a situation like this you need a nurse like him. I felt like my little cousin or nephew wanted to see me get better so they treated me better. Getting a bed took a while as well. But it is a hospital I understood. Well, once I was got upstairs the staff I had interactions with was amazing. First of all someone give my patient care techs of Tanja, KK, Alana and Cierra L. a raise now!!!!!! Don't wait! They deserve it. They are easy to talk to. And the professionalism was top notch. PCT! Give them a new title with more money! Also, to the nursing student that goes to Baylor baby you got this! My fab three of nurses on the fourth floor. Benson, Pam and Luis! Whoever put them as the charge nurses thank you! No! Seriously thank you! I have been in this room what seems like a lifetime and a day but making sure I am good to go! Making sure I understood what was going on around me. Laughing with me! Laughter makes you feel better. Being honest with me! Luis! I had the most interactions with because he works day shift! Sir! You are a beautiful wonderful soul! Benson! Yes to you and always making me feel comfortable. The simple I am just checking on you. Pam! I know you are just doing your job but the smile that could light up the world. Again, the laughter when I am not feeling my best! My Doctor, Dr. Ikram! This is the typical case of 1 bad apple...... My wife's mother (95) took a fall and broke her leg... EMTs made the decision to go to Methodist Central..... Emergency care... great!....... hospital team.... great!.....surgical team the same.... recovery/ in room nurses again great and then the third morning, a doctor showed up (have no idea for what reason and told her "The fall was her fault, the hospital was short on rooms and she needed to let them discharge her.... The kitchen here is awful. Absolutely hated the whole entire experience. My husband was admitted here and they wouldn't pay attention to the certain requests we made like he didn't like the iced tea and requested lemonade instead. Even though the printout on the tray said so, there was almost always iced tea on the tray. They have zero option in vegetarian meals. Even for outpatient treatments they never ask if you have food or diet restrictions and just bring whatever fits the docs dietary instructions. The tv in the room did not work! I was going through an evaluation for a liver transplant at the Mayo Clinic and they requested imaging files from Methodist Dallas on 3/26. They did not receive them and tried again on multiple occasions without success. I finally took it upon myself to contact radiology and was assured that they were going to fax the images IMMEDIATELY to the clinic. Unfortunately they failed to send the images AGAIN and due to the lack of the needed scans, The Mayo Clinic could not approve me for a transplant. My evaluation has now been delayed after I spent 11 days of my time in Arizona due to Methodist Dallas' failure to deliver. This has made me question if I should ever trust Methodist Dallas to care for me again. Mind you my Evaluation was on 4/17. This means they had 23 days to deliver and failed me. read more

I will continue to voice my opinion about this hospital. Most of the staff is rude, unprofessional, and unskilled. My son is currently in the NICU and I truly regret that my son has to be in the staff care. There's probably 3 good nurses my son has had since being their. my fiance call 3 times a day to check on him because we are constantly worried for him because of the treatment that we have experienced there. This is not my first child being born in the NICU and compared to Arlington Ive never seen anything like this. Surgery went well and everyone was very nice but my friend had hip surgery and they knew for two days she would need a walker. They waited until it was time to leave then two 2 hours to get one so that we ended up leaving in rush hour. The day after hip replacement and she had to sit in a car for an hour because of traffic When it's normally a 30 minute drive. The very worst experience I've ever had at a hospital after a horrible auto collision and as a peace officer!! There was no sense of urgency in the emergency room at all! The intake nurse had time to gossip about what I was doing and how much money her friend makes doing the same type of work. My room was filthy, no pillows in sight and the one I finally received was musty as a goat! The female nurses all had funky attitudes. Had an issue putting me on the bed pan and when I told them it was in the crack of my ass and not seated correctly the said just pee and left the damn room. Needless to say I soiled the sheets and they had another nurse ( who actually wasn't bitchy and very nice) clean it up. Both guys that initially placed me on the bed pan both times were nice. I was severely in pain! I wasn't given meds for hours. I don't give a damn if I have a paper cut, I will NEVER go to this location for care. I was admitted at about 4am and wasn't offered food until after 2pm when my loved one expressed concern. The food was dried out and not even edible. My loved one got me soup from the nearby Subway. The nurses on the 9th floor were wayyyyyyy nicer, especially Anna!! She was literally heaven sent. On top of allll of this now the hospital is saying I was NEVER a patient there and holding up my medical care for rehab. I need my records and they are claiming I was never there in which I have proof I was. Piss poor and unprofessional hospital! I was there 8/19-8/20 and regret not going to Baylor. read more

We fought a GOOD fight here...and I am eternally grateful to the wonderful doctors, nurses and medical staff here that helped to give my Father-in-law the quality treatment he deserved. The generosity of the hospital will never be forgotten and no words can express how much it helped us. Thanks to this hospital, my Father-in-law got the time in his life he needed to get his affairs in order, do the things he needed to do and got the chance to say "See you soon..." Thanks to the nurses on the 9th floor of Schenkel Tower for taking excellent care of him. One amazing thing about his hospital is they offer hotel type rooms in the hospital itself. This is one advantage that should not be overlooked and I highly encourage anyone from out of town, needing a place to stay to inquire about a room. They help so much and avoid a long trip to/from the hospital. Also ask about weekly parking to help save $ in the parking garage. My primary physician's office is located at this facility and her office is amazing and she takes very good care of my concerns so for her office I say five stars but the overall facility needs work as it's not to great an experience. It's paid parking first off then there are fast drivers who hit curves too fast while you are walking. There needs to be someone controlling or watching for pedestrians. read more

As you can imagine, my husband and I had dreamt about this day since we learned we were pregnant. With great excitement, after my water broke at home, we rushed to the hospital with masks in tow. We were pre-screened at the entrance as usual (no high temperatures or COVID-like symptoms). Then ensues our unsatisfactory experience which consisted of being accused of having COVID 19 due to a spike in temperature during labor (most likely because my water had broken) and being maltreated because of it, the facilities were roach infested and unequipped for treatment or surgery, and staff members behaved remarkably unprofessional. read more

As a patient who would like to know what is happening to me during treatment and what I am being billed for, I proved to be too much of an inconvenience. I was always re-routed placed on hold. There was nothing I could do. It is such a horrible feeling knowing you can't ask questions or get help when someone else hold all the power.
