The wife had an MRI scheduled for this morning, so she stopped by the hospital after work last night to check in and try to expedite things for today. They decided to keep her there overnight. Ok, we can deal with that. However, there were some issues with her stay. Quality: Awful! They kept her overnight...in the ER! They wouldn't admit her because they claimed that they were out of rooms. THEN, WHY ADMIT HER IN THE FIRST PLACE????? We live close enough for her to get there at a decent time! Care: Terrible! The staff was mediocre, at best. They weren't unprofessional, but they also weren't very knowledgeable. My Wife's chart states that she can't take statins, but they gave her one this morning anyway. How do I know! Her Nurse admitted to her that they had done so by mistake! He also suggested that she get on Repatha, and her chart clearly shows that she is already taking it! Unbelievable! While was there, I never saw anyone come to see her but her Dr. The highlight of the night was the Security Guard, who was very friendly and cordial, even while doing his safety searches on us. Experience: Horrible! Since they decided to keep her overnight, you would think that they would also feed her, but she was offered a PB&J for dinner. That's it! Really? Are we in Third Grade? On top of that, they managed to squeeze her in last night and she was able to get her MRI done before 8pm. So why keep her overnight? She came to do an outpatient procedure? ‍ We brought her some food because she was starving, but we should have been able to take her home. In my opinion, this was a serious mistake on their part. Please request a different hospital if you can. This used to be a top tier hospital, but the quality has really gone downhill. read more

I Had my appointment canceled without notification and drove there for nothing. I was then misinformed about a follow up and consequently not told about meds that needed to be taken which setback my treatment for two months. My bill was not submitted to my secondary ins and I've tried repeatedly to get it handled for six weeks. They refused to tell me if it has been submitted or paid. They tell me they will call me back and never do. I can't get a simple answer as to its status. Avoid this hospital, it is the most Incompetent hospital I've ever dealt with. They left me on a wooden chair in my hospital room no ice and no support for my leg no walker no call light after three days prior having full knee replacement., from 230 to 7;30 pm after being left in the edge of the bed dressed and slipping off . ,then they claim to me their records say I was in bed. . Then how did I not have a call Light? How did someone find me in my room screaming and banging on a table for attention at 7:30 pm ? After eight calls to the patient advocate I try to have a conversation with the nurse in charge of that floor . She tells me she has been in many calls with me . Not true . I talked to her once with the patient advocate for a few minutes and she could not answer any of my questions and still to this day has not. Another nurse was so rude and in on that call asking What do you want out of the call ? Why did you set it up ? I didn't the patient advocate did . She was Just so adversarial as if me letting them know hey I didn't get good care and the nurse that came on shift didn't even know I was there is something I don't need to be bothering them about and telling them know . They kept asking me how I was . I told them several times I'm here to talk about May 23 not my present health In addition , the nursing supervisor on call that night seemed to think I was trespassing and threatened to call the police . I think everyone there operates on the premise that every patient there is drug seeking , homeless, and trying to set up camp in the hospital . And yes the nurses band together to make it seem as if the patient is wrong . They actually laughed during the phone convo then after a half hour said they had better things to do . Nothing came of the call . So patients left without ice when having full knee replacement surgery and their leg bent and below heart level without a walker , without a call button for over seven hours is no big deal . The worst pain of your life is no big deal . Being found in your room and the staff being unaware you're even there is no big deal . Being sent home with no medication is no big deal . Being treated like a criminal by their house supervisor is no big deal . Being told by the nurse on shift that it's not her fault and to not judge her when she doesn't even know you are there is no big deal . Being told she isn't going to come back to help she's got three patients in bad shape is no big deal . Being told it's your own fault that you didn't get care is no big deal . Well you're home now and you've got medicine it's no big deal . The care I got is the best example of iun-Chris- like care I've ever witnessed . I hope before my next hospitalization I am established with another hospital , one that does think patient care is a big desk and one where every person doesn't want to tell you it's not my job or it's not my fault . The cardiologist was supposed to stop my dad's blood thinner but instead he added an additional blood thinner and my father bled to deaths. Dr Vijay P. Shah, who was the cardiologist even admitted to mehe made a mistake by giving him the additional blood thinner. They wanted to do a colonoscopy to see where the blood was coming. I said no and either 2 things were gonna happen. He either going to have a stroke or a heart attack and 10 minutes letter my father flat lined twice and he died because on the neglect of De Shah and stupidity of Dr. Echo. Father came in for a panic attack - had a hard time catching his breath on a Friday night - Sunday his cardiologist Dr Shah said he was going to do an angioplasty to make sure his stent is good - he did inform me he was going to stop his blood thinner. Tuesday my father was shaving on hi own walking around and eating a cheeseburger with NO ISSUES!!! HOWEVER he added an additional blood thinner, and my father bled to death! it was pretty bad when one of the nurses told me to get my father out of Southlake Methodist as soon as possible or he will die - Next day he died - the nurses were HORRIABLE, DR. I went to visit my Uncle who went to the emergency room on Sunday, February 18th due to breathing problems. Well first of all ; Methodist hospital (South Lake) emergency room didn't have any beds available until 28 hours after he was admitted. He was finally admitted to a room on day 2 and placed in isolation due to COVID-19 along with a few other complications. The last time that a staff member came in to write on/change the patient board was on his birthday which was Tuesday February 20th ; today's date February 22nd. I am surprised that they had no Valet parking. No one available at the front desk to assist my cousin with a wheelchair. We were told that my Uncle was in physical therapy when we talked with his nurse but while we were visiting...he said that he had Not been out of his room. read more

No one can explain to me why for 10 days in a row I have called Dr. Wheeler's office to refill a script that has not been re filled. Thank god it's not a "life saving" med other wise I would not be here to let you all know that Dr Wheeler and her staff do not care about their patients. I even called a patient advocate who did call me back to talk about what is going on and then never called me again to see if the issure had been resolved. Do better Dr Wheeler!!! read more

My daughter came to Methodist SLC she was 24 weeks pregnant the baby did not make it she had to be induced and deliver the baby boy.. The nurses were absolutely wonderful.. her nurse Christy Meyer was so carrying so attentive she was by her side within minutes of using the call button... I was so impressed with the compassion that was shown.. After my daughter delivered her son another nurse Deborah Murfitt (I believe) took time ( a lot of time) to take several pictures of the baby then they did a small baptisim and provided my daughter all the information she needed for burial. I can't thank both of those nurses enough.. It's been almost 2 months now and not a day goes by that I don't think about their kindness that they showed my child in her time of need. read more

Really, you need negative 0!!!! First, it's very frightening when you have a loved one diagnose with covid and double lung infection AND they are over 90 years old and they have to b admitted to THIS NUTHOUSE HOSPITAL. The floor that she is currently on, freaking SUCKS. We have extensive notes on everything that has bern going on. When I was there I hit the nursse call button 4x and NO freaking nurse answered or came to the room (this has happen while two of her daughters stay overnight on separate days). My granny is hard of hearing; has a trac (well over 35 yrs) - which means she can be in distress and your lazy, non functional, on the cell phone RNs would cause her death; and her room has not been cleaned since she been there. Now, prior to going on a floor, she had to sit in the ER room for two days because they stated they didn't have a room for her to go in. I believe this was a lie and that they don't have enough workers to serve the patients Today, takes the cake; unfortunately, two of us have to work and she didn't have anyone with her this early morning and afternoon. My aunt called several times because she called to state that she'd been waiting on someone to change her out of a wet bed for two gotdarn hours (as of this writing, still no one). To the unconcerned and uncaring RN, you folks would not do your damn dogs like you have done my gramdmother. I am totally disgusted, disheartening, and horrified of the level of service that had been given to the matriarchof ou family. It is not the patients fault that it not enough workers. Every patient should be treated with dignity, care and respect. Our family don't ask you for much because believe me; we are the clinican personnel at her residence. My family is looking to speak wth the CEO, Nurse in Charge on that floor (23W), your Shareholder/Stockholders (they need to know the level of care you are providing) and anyone else that can give us an explanation inro this situation. read more

So I wanted to give a great review so bad! I fell on a broken Pyrex dish, so I went to Methodist Er. I had 2 bad lacerations, one on the side of my upper arm which required 5 stitches, and a deep small laceration on the inside of my wrist. I told the nurse practitioner Francesca Pabalan, that my wrist hurt more than anything, she wanted to xray my shoulder, I said no my shoulder doesn't hurt. She said look your wrist is fine it's already clotting. Fast forward I have a 14 by 9 by 3 mm shard of glass in my wrist. Now I have to see an orthopedic surgeon to remove it. I was in and out in 40 minutes which I thought was great, however they just caused me more Trauma.I have no confidence in our hospitals. fransiscan network is no better , took 2 weeks to read an X-ray and ultrasound! read more

I am giving a 1 star rating as I had outpatient surgery on my foot. The initial nurse Erin was 10 stars. Dr Jones was 10 stars The discharge nurse, Toni, was -10 stars I am from the Chicago area and thought it best to stay at a hotel locally for several days post op and informed the pre-surgical person that the pharmacy I needed to have any pain meds post surgery sent to would be in Merrillville. The prescription for pain medication was sent to our home town in IL and since it is a narcotic they cannot transfer it between stores. Toni told me that the meds were sent to the pharmacy in IL and I said I am staying locally and she just repeated where they were sent and did not care nor attempt to correct the issue. She actually had a horrible attitude with zero bedside manner! I had to wait until the following day to get my pain medication after surgery!! They need more "Erin's" and get rid of the "Toni's"!!! read more

But when I came up to visit my niece it was 1 nurse her name is Jessica I wish I knew her last name but I'm calling her manager Cathy Sims. To let her know I was threatened to leave I was yelled at an kicked out the hospital because I did not know that it was only 1 person per day to visit I didnt know. She called the police on me yelling while my niece is fighting for her life. Of course I'm black an the nurse was white. So she was quick to call the police. Worse experience eve.
