Metro is a decent option to some of the more expensive options. I use my Metro phone mostly for business purposes.

The advertised phones really are free, and all you're supposed to pay is the sales tax. The problem is that they'll add extra features, services, and accessories to your account without your knowledge or consent to increase the total so that they can get a good commission check . They also won't provide an itemized receipt, making it harder to see what you're actually being charged for, because they don't want you to see that you're getting scammed. Before you pay for anything, DEMAND an itemized receipt and review every single charge. Don't just trust the total they give you and don't believe them when they say they can't print an itemized receipt or that the printer is not working because that's not true. Also, they're not a corporate store. This store is under new HORRIBLE, Strange, questionable management or ownership! Sam assisted us and he was extremely unprofessional, rude, odd and he displayed to have a severe case of multiple personality disorder. Every few minutes his mood shifted and he could not hide it nor did he even try. If we did not agree with him or like his suggestion or when we answered no thank you, he got very, very upset. The store does not give out receipts anymore and are overcharging customers. This is a very shady store RIGHT NOW. All of the old employees are no longer there. It's ran by 2 Iranians for the past couple of Months. We bought a new phone and paid bills and they claim they could not provide any type receipt for any of our transactions. It is something very weird going on in this store and CORPORATE REALLY NEEDS TO STEP UP AND TAKE OVER. I do not trust these new people. Sam told us they are the corporate office along with the store in Antioch, CA on Lone Tree Way. So the same person must own these 2 stores, and they are truly up to NO GOOD. An Investigation needs to take place immediately on both stores. He also kept adding prices on our total without telling us in advance and when we questioned him why and what the extra charges were and why was the total so high, he start literally throwing items in the air, visibly huffing and puffing extremely hard and loud and cursing and giving us evil looks. He was very rude and quite scary. DO NOT SHOP HERE!! Our experience was a head scratcher for real. After thinking about it all, I'm scared about the purchase of our new phone & even paying our bills here because it seems like they are possibly tracking customers or doing something fraudulent, crooked and/or wicked. NEVER GO HERE!!! I came to use my insurance to replace my completely shattered IPhone 11 but, the worker that was on the phone with his girlfriend told us to file a claim and in the end told US to pay 200 to fix it. Then what's the point of the insurance? Then he offers to sell us an iPhone 16e for 499 but once we payed it was 599. Also, while we filed a claim we needed a pin and according to the worker, "The pin wasn't working". He changed our pin and we weren't aware until I got home and tried to log in the metro app. Therefore, he didn't inform us that he changed our pin. He also claimed that you can't get a transfer any other metro but did half of it myself through apple? Unbelievable! This is the greed they mention in the bible because these men kept trying to sell us the broken phone for 200, an iPhone 13 for 300 and an iPhone 16e for 499 WHICH WASNT?? Metro PCS Located in the College square shopping center in Stockton, CA. Here's my story: Man, I don't even know where to begin. I have a long list of rants. That are probably a mile long. It just gets me frustrated with everything we have gone through. If you know me, it takes a lot, I mean a lot to get me going. I'll keep it short and simple, Metro PCS has the worst customer service. That I have ever, I mean ever encountered in my entire life. The insurance that is offered is a complete joke. Pretty much the only thing that is covered. Is the battery and let's see the battery. We had several issues regarding our cellphones. The several incidents that occurred. We got the run around, again and again. It seemed that nothing can ever be done at this store. Even though it's an corporate store. One would think, that the magic can happen here. Well it doesn't and that sucks big-time. Cracked screen not covered, pulls out the battery and looks at this water marker. Being accused of dropping my cellphone in water. It's a hustle people. Ways so they (Metro) can get out of warranting out your phone. You have to purchase the cellphones out right. Nothing wrong with that, because Metro is a month to month non contract. This is a review supporting tmobiles billing. I was warned not to get service with them and should have listened. #1 the outsource there call center in out of country. I'm paying united states prices for service yet there call center is over there so they pocket more money. There billi g has cost me so much money now I owe $100 and it's all fees. I had a late bill called to pay it. A call center rep answered my call with broken English I could barely understand him instead of him taking my payment he put me on a payment plan that cost more money. Tmobile now has compounded fees that could have been resolved when I called. I warn you don't get caught up with them. There billing is designed to get you owing them and only benefits them. Your lucky if there call center has someone you can understand or quits talking long enough for you to explain what's wrong. Don't do it.​ read more

After waiting in line for long time and then overlook by the manager that was not in pleasant mood. She did not smile or look at you when she talks to you but rushing through the crowd to take the ppl name! Agter 30 mins she couldn't even reassures the customer that its longer then they expect us to wait.. Instead she just went back to her corner and got on her phone and talk to the other manager while they're eating something on the floor. How unprofessional is that to speak with a customer with your mouth full of food. Finally after waiting 40 to 50 minutes to be seen Jessica was able to help me with a smile. The managers should take some lessons from the employee each Jessica and greet the customer with with a smile no matter what the situation is you're still leader as a professional. Update of my previous review. I bought a new phone case and tempered glass screen from this location on April 8th. The screen was under warranty. Well in September I cracked the screen, and was told at the store that they no longer carried it. Well I was much much unhappy. So I left a review to that effect. Well Leslie reached out to me from MetroPCS and without going into too much detail. Leslie refused to let me remain unsatisfied. Even when I had decided to say screw it. Leslie persisted, by going above and beyond what I expected. I also work in customer service. That's the type of service that I give. It's nice to be on the receiving end for a change. I go to get my phone replaced a week ago. I was told they had to order it. Fine, then I'm told it will be there in 3 days that i will get a phone call when its there. Heard not 1 word from them. Their # is nowhere on the warranty so i google it. I get a phone for that location. I call it and i get a recording with options. Im told to speak with a agent to call a different # so i do and now I'm talking to Metro customer service. She tries the # given and gets the same recording. She then has me hold and calls another Metro store in Stockton to try to get the phone #. Next thing my phone is calling. It rings a dozen times and all i got was my phone call cannot get through at this time. I want to say Thank You to the Metro Customer Service lady and to the other store for trying to help me get someone on the line. As far as the Metro store on West March Lane, if i could give zero stars i would. Now i have to drive the 50 miles round trip to find out if my phone is there which it better be. Either way when i get there if it's there great but their gonna hear about why i never was contacted and if its not then they better get ready to have 1 pissed of even more person for me driving there for nothing. Lily Martinez the assistant store manager and her staff were the best trained with the highest quality of customer service unfortunately I had a horrible experience at the Webbers town mall MetroPCS all of the staff must have hated their jobs and had very little training they would not give me a refund on broken merchandise that did not work but I'd only had for 24 hours I went to the other Metro PCs behind the Target and I have the best experience I can ever write about she is wonderful. From now on if I need something I Will refuse to go any where else other than that store location and I recommend that the rest of Stockton do the same! read more

I would definitely not recommend the store I did have a paper with names of the horrible associates that helped me but I can't seem to find it my husband spent $1500 on a phone last year just for somebody to bypass the security on his account through ASSURANT insurance and fraudulently create a claim to get a new phone sent to them We had this huge claim misunderstanding with insurance so I have to personally get them on the phone drive down to metro give the associate the phone so that they can figure it out because someone had locked my husbands original phone we had let them know the situation they told us they were going to help us nobody helped us for months and then one of the associates helped us said they We're going to order another phone and For us to come back and get it well that. My K7 just stopped working so I went on the Metro website to purchase a new phone. Unfortunately, the K20 is not available online so I had to go to one of these horrible customer service places. I reluctantly went to this store on 09/15/17. The guard at the door was nice and friendly but he is not a MetroPCS employee. Once in the store, the atmosphere was heavy. The employees were all on their phones and there were no customers. I was told by a black guy named Khalil that their "system" was down. It was 30 minutes before closing time. They were playing some ghetto music with a lot of explicit language and bad words. I went back on 09/17/17 and Khalil was there again and guess what he said? He said their "system" was down again. Man, they need an IT dude there. I don't believe anything was wrong with their computers though. It was 20 minutes before closing and I know that the employees didn't want to work anymore. There were (4) four employees just chilling on their phones. Again. This place is horrible. No one wanted to help and this one girl said it was too late anyway to help.This place is the most terrible place to go to. I would give it zero stars if I could. My two-month old phone stopped charging this morning so I brought it into the Stockton MetroPCS location on March Ln for repair or replacement. Immediately, the supervisor looked it over for damage and noticed a small scratch on the top of my phone (not on the screen). He said that although the scratch didn't cause the charging port issue, MetroPCS still considers it "broken" and they will not honor the warranty. Instead, like used car salesmen, they attempted to sell me a new phone. I contacted the corporate office and they directed me back to the Stockton office, saying "All customer service issues and phone related problems are handled by our MetroPCS stores." I've been a MetroPCS customer for two years and this phone is only two-months old. I also convinced several friends and family members--with regret--to switch to MetroPCS to save money. I hope they will avoid a similar issue. Well, you get what you pay for. Cheap phone carrier = bad phone service and incompetent customer service. Some things are worth paying a little more for: condoms and cell phone service. Avoid MetroPCS and especially the Stockton, California store at all cost. This is going to be a long review so if you want the summary scroll to the bottom. I originally came to this metro but the girl who helped me seemed like she didn't wanna be there at all let alone help me, so I decided to try other stores. After signing up at an Authorized dealer, I ended up going to 5 different Metro PCS stores/dealers. Every store I went to told me something different, and every store was a hassle. The guy at go wireless on march told me I could sign up 3 lines and add on the 4th for no extra charge at another store so that I could get the $20 phone i wanted because he was out of it. Most of the people I talked to at these other 4 stores had NO IDEA what price to give me, quoting me for a new activation of around $170 for 1 line (even though I just paid 160 the day before for activation AND phones of 3 lines). Then they would say Oh okay well its an upgrade so it will be around $150. One of them said it should only be the $20 phone plus $25 activation, but that his boss wouldn't let him sell me the phone for a new line and I could buy it for one of my other lines but would have to wait 3 days and pay $40 for the phone instead of $20. It was a huge headache. So eventually I went back to THIS metro since it is the only actual metro store in town that I know of. The girl who helped me, I think her name was something like Maria, proceeded to talk about how the other stores don't know what they are doing because they aren't real metro stores. That they shouldn't be charging us extra like that. So she tells me that they have the phone I wanted in stock, but that this store sells it for $38. I told her that every other store has it for $20 including on-line. And she replied, " Well, we are the real metro so that is what metro charges, but you get a free case with it." I was so fed up with everything at this point that I reluctantly agreed. Whatever i figured, I'll pay the $38 for the phone and then it was like another $25 for the activation? Then when I got home I looked at the reciept and realized that NO THE CASE WAS NOT FREE, she charged me $20 for the phone and $24.99 for the case! I figured out this is what metro does. They make it so effing confusing that you have no idea how much you are actually paying. Then they give you a million different receipts that have different amounts then what they are telling you that you are paying. They say it is $100 and you end up paying $300. SUMMARY: Every metro sucks, this one sucks "SLIGHTLY LESS" because while they LIE TO YOU about prices, they can get you signed up without having to go to 5 different stores. Employees still are rude and have attitude, and talk down about other metro stores. If you can manage in any way to afford a different phone company, DO IT. I would pay extra for AT&T again if I could. Maybe not sprint because their customer service sucks too, but is still better than GHETTRO. WE WILL SEE if they stick to their monthly pricing of 4 lines for $100, because as of right now I am ready to see a huge bill show up, seeing as how NOTHING ELSE THEY SAID WAS TRUE. read more

Worst customer service ever waited 45 minutes as others came way after I did only to be helped before me,the employees are unprofessional not helpful!I purchased a phone a month ago with unlimited texting Internet and calls have had sparse Internet and texting have been getting the run around from everyone at metro only to be told the phone had to be replaced after a month then I'm told at this so called corporate store they have order a phone and that I have to come back yet again to deal with this poor sad unprofessional so called customer service! Save your self time,money, and headaches. Do not shop at this store! You will receive a phones that don't work. You will be asked to come back several times, once you are at the store you will be asked to wait extremely long, or come back several times, only to wait several hours to get service. This was the worst experience! Management and the personnel that work there have no concept of what customer service is.The company could make money if they have better representation. You will find a long line of extremely dissatisfied customers. Others were complaining as well as they waited in line. I would rather pay much more with a competitor for better service.
