Royal Windows and Doors - Windward install ... quiet, clean.

    Royal Windows and Doors

Not knowing many of the local contractors. My first calls were to the well-known window and door vendors (Anderson and Pella). After getting their prices back, we had to reassess the scope of the project since we would not be able to afford to do all of the doors at once. We did some more research and I came across Royal Doors and Windows. They had a lot of five star reviews which made me skeptical. I called and Danny was at my house in a few days. He took very precise measurements and photos. He even came back because he wanted to double check something that he didnt get a perfect picture of. The meeting in his office was excellent. He was able to walk us through our options, the costs and details. Moreover, he was able to show us the actual doors and how they would look on our house using his pictures and big screen in his office. It made the process extremely easy. When the big day came, the install team was just as Danny had promised. Chris and his partner we quick, efficient, and neat. They replaced three large doors and a window over a two day period. They were so quiet doing it, I was able to work from home in the next room. The doors came out great and we couldnt be happier. And the best part their price was 40% lower than the original quotes we got so we were able to complete the entire project in one shot. Thank you Danny. We will be calling you for our next project.

When they asked why I was there I told them why. The salesperson was upset because his current victims/customers were there and overheard. He showed up at my house to do his best to embarrass me. From my driveway, he started to yell at me that I cost him business. This time I have a ring doorbell to catch his unprofessional possibly steroid induced behavior. He cost himself business by being a liar. The owner came by my house after this fiasco and offered me paint so I could paint my door the BLACK color that I initially ordered. He had the gall to say that the espresso/black color went better with my house anyway. My house was under renovation so he proved my point-I'm not trying to match the current color. I'm matching what it will be. Lastly, the fancy keypad doorknob they sold me was not installed correctly because the door would not close!!! They came back to fix it to loosen the screws to accommodate the misalignment. I wasted over $10000 on this poor excuse of a business. RUN. It is not worth it to do business with this company. They also need promised satisfaction guaranteed but they don't mean the customer-they are only concerned with themselves. THEY ARE A SCAM.

NYC Doors and More - Door repair

In my efforts to find a service provider to improve the state of a 30 unit residential building's…read morealuminum framed main entrance door, and correct a DOB violation, that required installation of a keyed, manual panic bar to be integrated to an existing electromagnetic lock set up (for use to secure the front door in the event of a power outage), I came across NYC Doors And More. While others claimed that the door was beyond repair, and that we first needed the services of an engineer to address the DOB Code compliance issue, Guy, from NYC Doors And More, spoke with me, and we arranged for him to survey the situation. On arrival, he very quickly, and confidently, observed that the job was not as complicated as had been presented to me by others, and he would research some options, and provide them to me as soon as possible. And that, he did. Guy understood that my priority was to reduce the operating, and maintenance headaches I was experiencing with this primary entrance door, including the fact that I was tired of replacing the hydraulic door closer, every one to two years. The phrase "penny wise, pound foolish" comes to mind when looking at the hardware choices that had previously been made. I was ready for an upgrade in quality for the hinges, and closer replacement, and I wanted a quality, code compliant, panic bar. Of course, quality upgrades cost more but I have to say: I've rarely felt so comfortable spending more than I planned, as I did with Guy, and NYC Doors And More. I had every confidence in Guy's carefully presented hardware recommendations, and his ability to implement them well. The result was that the installation and the subsequent operation of it all, exceeded my expectations. Six months later I still feel the same. The door now has a covered, one piece, full length hinge that will keep the door properly aligned, and seems indestructible, and a heavy duty hydraulic closer that will not have to be replaced for years to come. The DOB code correction (that other companies found so difficult to even address), was handled expertly; it's a truly seamless integration. They arrived, on time, worked efficiently, neatly, and were very accommodating, and patient, with the fact that everyone still needed to get in and out of that main entrance while they worked on the door. I will soon be having them perform similar work on the inner lobby door as well. All around, they're true professionals, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone that appreciates quality, and solid workmanship.

It's rare to see a 5 star business receive a low rating review like this, but unfortunately I had an incredibly disappointing experience, which I feel compelled to share with other homeowners to prevent anyone else from falling victim to their unprofessional behavior and lack of accountability. One of our large casement windows was factory damaged and no one noticed till it started to fog up over the past year. I requested a replacement as it was well within the 20 year warranty period. They asked for picture proof and I provided. I had to keep following up for 2 months because they couldn't provide a timeline for installation. When we finally aligned on a date they notified me within 1 hour of the appointment that they can't come because they had a situation. It's okay, things come up but you're suppose to provide a solution with next steps and not keep your clients waiting for an answer. What's truly disappointing is how Ken handled the situation. No one came to supervise the installation so that is a mistake on their part. Instead of acknowledging their workers' errors, they pointed fingers at me, accusing me of tampering with the frame & caulk. Mind you, none of my windows have caulk between the glass and frame. I'm so confused where that came from. I had photographic proof of the window's condition before and after installation, as well as security camera footage of their technicians using boxcutter and hammer to remove the frame (which I assume is what caused the damage). As a homeowner who had placed trust in American Windows Plus expertise, I was shocked by their lack of integrity and commitment to quality workmanship. A company that truly values its customers would have promptly addressed the issue, taken accountability for their errors, and worked towards a solution. Instead, they chose to evade responsibility and, quite frankly, tarnished their own reputation. Now, I have to live with the unsightly scars of their negligence - visible scratches and awkward caulk on the exterior window frame. Despite providing all the evidence necessary to prove their mistakes, Ken continued to deny their wrongdoing and refused to provide any solution or replacement. I share my experience here not only to vent my frustration but also to warn potential customers about the unethical practices of American Windows Plus. I believe it's essential for homeowners to make informed decisions when choosing service providers for their homes. It's clear that they prioritize their own interests over customer satisfaction and quality service.
