I recently used Connolly flooring to replace the wood floor in my bedroom after an air conditioner flood. From the moment Pete Connolly came to my apt to look at the job, I felt comfortable. It was evident that Pete was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done. He went out of his way to work around my time frame and the unexpected delays that arose b/c of other work that needed to be done first. The bedroom floor looks great and he seamlessly joined the bedroom floor to the same wood floor throughout the entire apartment. They also helped me fix damage done to the wood floors in the living room by movers. The price was fair, the workers were prompt and courteous, and everyone went out of their way to accommodate anything I needed. Pete was always accessible. It is a family run business and they take great pride in the work they do and making the client happy. This client focus was evident throughout the entire process from start to finish and combined with the fantastic workmanship, I could not have asked for a better experience! Connolly Floors did a wonderful job in our NYC apartment. We needed the floors done during the short time we had between when the previous movers left and when we needed to move in, and Connolly finished two days early! The installation process was smooth and the floors look incredible (they're the walnut floors in the photos - gorgeous, right?). Installing new hardwood floors (over the old parquet) is an expensive job, so making sure you have the right contractor and the right floors is key, and we definitely made the right decision! Connolly Floors (and Pete Connolly especially) was professional and helpful during the entire process: getting a quote quickly, responding to emails quickly, doing a free in-person assessment of the apartment to see what was needed and to determine how long the project would take, and explaining the differences between solid hardwood and engineered hardwood and the different species and stains of wood. It was clear from the beginning that they know what they are doing and are looking to give you the best floor possible for the most reasonable price. Connolly Floor Service refinished our oak parquet floors. It is hard to express how thrilled we are with the experience. Our floors had not been refinished for 35 years and were beat up. Now the floors look brand new. It's amazing. And their prices were very competitive. In addition to sanding and putting on polyurethane, Connolly also stained our floors. The owner, Pete, coached us through picking a color and provided us with sample tiles stained the colors we were considering. We are thrilled with the Early American color we picked. It looks great with all our wood furniture. To prep for the sanding, Connolly covered the doors to our closets and extra rooms, as well as our wall hangings, with plastic. They did a careful job, and it made a huge difference. When they were done the closets did not need to be cleaned. Best of all was working with Pete Connolly. He and his office were always responsive. Pete offered great advice and really cared. I am at a loss for words to describe how great the experience was. Pete patiently guided us through the process including picking a stain color. The quality of their work was excellent and our floors look great. The price was very competitive. Have ahd 2 great experiences!! This is the second time this team has worked at my coop in Manhattan. They a stellar job laying engineered wood and replacing molding in the entire place (about 950 sq ft) when I first purchased. The crew was lovely (yes men, but really lovely)...polite, efficient, attention to detail. This time, they were re-laying/replacing the same flooring because I did a renovation and moved walls. They were on time, removed and replaced the equivalent of a small room within 5 hours...seamlessly. Pete Connolly himself is a gem...just a good, nice man. Communicates, checks in, listens and explains. The fact that he comes to assess and discuss himself speaks volumes. The services are fairly priced and they have done a lot of work in NYC coops, so they know the drill and many of the coops already know them. Also have to give a shout out to Eastside flooring in East Harlem, whom Pete recommended. If they have what you want, would use them as they were of the same level of helpfulness, well priced, did NOT oversell and it made for easy coordination of the job. read more

I had used Connoly Flooring to do repair work, as well as sand and refinish the floors in my mom's house. The floors came out terrific, and the price was within reason. His team had to rip several floor boards that were too damaged, high traffic area. Also had to match an accent strip of wood floor, that is a different grain & wood of the rest of the floor. They were able to match it, and with the new stain and high gloss polyurethane, looked awesome. Six years later, i had to have some touch ups done, again, high traffic areas. Had since rented the house, and former tenants had scratched the floors. His team took care of the spots in question. No BS about needing everything done again. I was having new tenants move in in just a few days. He asked his workers to come by, and knock it out as a end of day appointmt. Not only that, but his guys polyurethaned another room for me to bring back that "just done" floor look. He asked for 50 bucks more. Highly recommend, will continue to use. Rob read more

Peter Connolly was my contractor. I live in a condo on the UWS in NYC. I had water damage in a large area from the air conditioning unit. Peter and his team replaced the damaged parquet wood tiles. I then decided to have the entire floor sanded, stained and polished. It was a 3 day operation. I had to move out for the first two overnights. They move and cover all the furniture, pictures, etc. with plastic, disconnect everything -- just like a moving operation. The floors look terrific, just like new in a 50 year old building. I would give 5 stars but in truth, the job was not cheap and I did not really negotiate. But for 3 full days, 4 if you count the tile replacement day, it was well worth it. And they do an awesome job putting everything back together again. You still have a lot of post cleaning to do from all the wood dust, but they are extremely neat and careful. read more

I contacted Connolly Floor and got an almost immediate response. I needed an old linoleum floor replaced. Pete Connolly was at my place the next day. He spent almost two hours explaining all the different options available. I decided on vinyl planking. After I picked up the needed material and called Pete back we set up the date and his guys were at my place 20 minutes before and ready to go. They did an amazing job and for a very fair price, I had spoken to three other contractors and only one was able to come and look at the job. The others didn't seem like they could be bothered after I told them what I was looking for and gave me a price almost twice what Connolly did it for. I highly recommend this outfit. The 1960s original parquet flooring in my apartment was in terrible shape, worn in places with furniture depressions and dimples and water stains from planters. Pete and his team did wonders in sanding and refinishing the floor. Depressions and stains gone! They also laid done samples of several color stains after sanding so I could finalize my choice with confidence. I now have a gorgeous, rich floor.
