My wife and I bought a fixer upper with the intention of DIY'ing the majority of the work. Little did we know, leveling floors is not as easy when covering large areas. After an embarrassing attempt, I waved the white flag and sought out estimates to get the job done. When I met with Rob (the owner), I knew we were going to go with him. Rob wasn't the cheapest, but he was the best. He was thorough with his assessment and explained what needed to be done. The entire home (2,600 sq ft) needed to be leveled, and we knew this before requesting estimates. Rob laid out the expectations up-front. He explained the process and that it would take over a week to complete the job. the floors were uneven throughout the home and the previous homeowners masked the imperfections with carpet, tile and vinyl flooring. In some areas, the floor varied by as much as 1.25 inches. We knew that we needed to hire someone we would trust and would do the job as expected. We hired Flooring Professionals to remove the Vinyl and tile flooring. Unbeknownst to us prior to contacting them, we were not aware that this task could be done using dust free technology, which was an added bonus, since we were living in the home throughout the process. Rob and his team spent a little over a week removing the tile, grinding the concrete, leveling the floors. When returning home each evening, we were able to see the progress that was done during the day and all of the tools were neatly placed away. While that wasn't expected, it was a clear indication that they take pride in their work. Also, all of the debris from the floor they had removed was placed in bins on the side of the home in an organized fashion. They were very professional, courteous, ON TIME and TRUST-WORTHY. Thank you again for your hard work and professionalism. Having our floors leveled was money well spent.

This guy is so "professional" he's psychic and "knows" no reputable contractor will be available in 4 days to give a quote. Guess I will test his brilliant theory. I requested black and Grey metallic swirls. What I got was a black floor that shows EVERY speck of dust. There are way too many imperfections to count. They got the epoxy all over my door trim and the hallway tile. They cleaned out their equipment in my front yard and got black epoxy all over my decorative stone. I've now hired someone to redo the terrible job they did so I can finally put this behind me. Very expensive lesson learned! Would give zero stars if I could!

Repeated No-Shows, Poor Communication, and Unfinished Work…read more We hired Irving with Modern Innovations to install a garage service door, baseboards in our garage and living room, and a few light fixtures. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing and unprofessional from start to finish. Irving came out on Tuesday to inspect the project and determine what materials would be needed. We scheduled the work for the following day at 9:00 AM. This property is not our primary residence and requires a 45-minute drive each way. After rearranging our schedule and arriving early, Irving did not show up until approximately 1:00 PM--four hours late with no regard for our time. When he finally arrived, he only worked for a couple of hours before telling us he was too busy for the rest of the week and would have to return later. We were already inconvenienced by the late arrival and delay, but agreed to reschedule. A few days later, I received multiple text messages late Saturday evening requesting payment for the partial work that had been completed. Assuming the money was needed for additional materials and wanting to keep the project moving forward, I paid him for the work completed to that point. We then rescheduled for the following Tuesday. The day before, I contacted Irving to confirm the appointment, only to be told he could not make it and needed to reschedule again. We then agreed on Thursday at 6:00 AM. I confirmed the date and time multiple times, and each time he assured me that 6:00 AM worked for him. For the third time, I rearranged my schedule and drove 45 minutes to the property. Once again, Irving failed to show up. At 7:30 AM, I texted him asking where he was and what his ETA would be. He responded that he had gone to Lowe's and was only 10 minutes away. I waited until 9:00 AM, and he never arrived. After that, I never heard from him again. The job remains unfinished despite receiving payment for the work already performed. My experience with Irving and Modern Innovations was marked by repeated no-shows, chronic lateness, broken commitments, poor communication, and a complete lack of respect for a customer's time. If you value reliability, professionalism, and follow-through, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. There are many contractors who show up when they say they will, communicate honestly, and finish the work they start. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.
