Very unethical place of the way that they're doing business; they bait and switch. Just like other reviews, they claim that they take the insurance then they pair you with dentist who's out of network to make more money. Moved to the area recently and a colleague highly recommend this practice. It is a modern and bright environment. The staff are all helpful and friendly. My hygienist was awesome. Dr. Schuster is a very thorough and pleasant professional. Their equipment is way more modern than at my last facility - there is not even a spit sink! They hand you a cup hooked up to a device and you spit into that. Very hygienic and forward-thinking. It was probably my best dentist office visit ever. The worst dental experience of my 46 years of life. I went to him because a 25 year old filling fell out and I needed a new filling. I've been in excruciating pain ever since. He drilled a new tooth and for two weeks I've been living in hell. I went back he re drilled and filled it and still I can't eat or sleep because of this tooth. Finally he said he didn't know why and based on the xrays it shouldn't be hurting. I dread the day I chose to go the this dentist. Finally his office has the nerve to bill me twice for putting me in the worst pain I've ever felt in my life. This is why people are afraid of dentists. It's 5 am 3 weeks in and I'm in SO MUCH PAIN!!!!!! I would not recommend this dentist. read more

Dr Jay Schuster has never been anything short of kind and very thorough. Horrid experience from a dentist I used to love and think so highly of. If you read Dr. Shuster's review they were five star stellar until he was bought out last year by Midest Merritt etc. Absolutely horrid. I think Dr. Shuster is not up to par in his skills or thinking any longer. Every review now since the changeover is one star. The worse experience was with this Marlene, a supposed dental tech who did a sub par cleaning. Did not do the cancer screening, did not do gum measurements, did not polish, did not do flouride rinse. BEST OF ALL she chipped a top and bottom tooth with her unskilled and very rough scaling. I am 70; have been to several dentists; best was my sister in law who passed away. Shuster did have an amazing tech named Dale; she left when conditions were so sub par she could no longer justify working there. Susan, secretary even secretly have me the name of the practice where Dale went. I feel sorry for the doctor as he is a basically kind human being. I had to stand there for almost an hour to get my records; dr. hid in the back office??? He had covid as well and office was closed up tight and they lied about it. Feel sorry for such a nice and competent doctor who let himself become prey to this corporate nightmare. STAY AWAY!!! read more

I hate going to the dentist and normally get super anxious before any appointment. Dr. Sacco and especially my hygienist Marlene made the experience painless and quelled all of my anxieties. Marlene went out of her way to make sure that I was comfortable and re-assured me I had nothing to worry about. I had a routine cleaning by the Hygienist, Andrea and Maureen, on two separate visits and both clean very abrasively which left me with permanent gum recession on my lower left quadrant. I explained the situation politely to Dr Schuster and he placed the blame on my cleaning habits insinuating i had a grinding problem which I do not. Dr Saccho offered a courtesy 1 min fluoride application which doesnt do much. This office is money hungry machine who can care less about their patients read more

After 20 years, it was time to find a new dental office. After complaining about tooth pain for quite some time and always being told there was no issue, my new dentist discovered an infection. He also had to correct a poor root canal performed by Metro Dental some time ago. My last few visits felt very pushed to perform services, and when I expressed financial constraints, I was informed that I had a $300+ credit on my account that no bothered to inform me about from a previous invoice. The office chipped away at this- from the $95 no show fee they charged me ( mind you I just had a baby and have been a client for almost 20 years) and a $112 for a recement a crown that literally fell out 10 minutes after I left the practice. I had previously told the office to please make a note on my file to inform me of all estimated recommended treatment costs prior to performing, but this still wasn't happening. The final straw for me was after I sent the office an email expressing my concerns, the Office Manager contacted me and told me she would credit back the no show charge but did not make any attempt to review or discuss any of my concerns with me, so clearly they didn't value me as a client and as a result they will no longer have my business. I will miss Dale very much though, my fabulous hygienist. read more

I found Metro Dental Associates on Angie's list and decided to give them a try. Dr. Schuster is quite a character and really made me smile. I had to go back a second time for 2 fillings and had Dr. Savage performed them. He was very friendly and really made me feel comfortable. Not to mention, I felt no pain during his procedure. The office is very clean and well lit. Their equipment is top notch. What impressed me most was the level of service and follow up. The office staff was stellar, especially since I was having problems with my old dentist office who thought it would be ok to ignore my request to send Metro Dental Associates a copy of my X-Rays. I no longer live in Morristown, but I have been meaning to write this review for some time. I have lived in four states over the past 10 years. And I have had more dentists than I have teeth. But I can say without question, my favorite dentist of all time is Dr. Schuster. He is an outstanding dentist and I highly recommend him. Not only is Dr. Schuster a very experienced and professional physician, but he is a great guy as well. There are two instances which make Dr. Schuster stand out as the best dentist ever: 1. I first moved to Morristown and needed emergency dental work. I had yet to identify a dentist so I went to Dr. Schuster's office to see if he could help. I just started a new job, with a new company - so the dental insurance situation was still in process. Dr. Schuster did not know me at all but he worked with me to ensure I had the dental work completed without making me pay for anything until it was clear how much the insurance was going to cover. Without the actual policy information, he trusted I would return days/weeks later with the information and handle it at that time. Who does that anymore? Any other physician would not have been so accommodating and reasonable. 2. On my last visit to Dr. Schuster's office before moving to CA, Dr. Schuster brought me his son's bike that he used as a toddler. He knew that my son was going to need a bike soon and offered it to me. Now I was leaving the state, he knew it. He had nothing professionally to gain by giving that bike to a customer who was moving 2,500 miles away. But that is exactly the kind of caring person Dr. Schuster is. It should also go without saying that the dental work Dr. Schuster does is first-rate. The experience is as painless as possible (literally). And I have not had any complications or problems with any of the work he has done on my teeth. If you want a dentist who is excellent at their job and somebody who is a quality person, then there is nobody better than Dr. Schuster. I would fly back to Morristown every 6 months if I had the time. That is how much I respect him as a professional and a person. read more
