There is definitely something sleazy and unprofessional regarding their billing practices. I paid a bill five months ago, and they are still sending me the bill, despite the fact that I sent a copy of the canceled check in response to the last bill. The latest bill was marked "Final Notice." Can't reach anyone to talk to about it. They don't answer the phone. I think I'm going to have to consult an attorney. read more

Dr. Saunders has been wonderful since performing surgery on my foot. He has been nothing but helpful and helped my foot heal really quickly. My only issue now is that my foot is really sore but that's part of the healing process. Hopefully with time the pain will subside. If he is "a brilliant surgeon" as another review states, then the crippling disfigurement he did to my foot had to be deliberate. Worst mistake of my life. Don't let this man touch your foot. I have so far been very impressed with this office. The girls at the front desk are very nice and also interact with the patients (ie; x-rays) which I appreciate. Usually it is not fun to be passed off from person to person in a doctor's office...their skill set makes it so you are comfortable with the people you're working with and eliminates feeling as though you're in a pinball machine, bouncing from here to there! Dr. Saunders is clearly knowledgeable in his field and has really eased any worries I had about my foot injury. He is patient and thorough in his explanations. This office also does in-house x-rays and short notice appointments which is helpful considering most people don't plan to break their toes 4-6 weeks out :) I certainly hope I don't have to frequent this office after I'm all healed up but if I do happen to sustain another foot fancy injury, I will be sure to see Dr. Saunders. read more

Didn't fix a broken ankle and even made multiple notes that it was still misaligned without trying to fix it; and it took over 4 weeks for them to respond to a records request, and even after the 4 weeks of multiple attempts- they were still "unable to access" all of my information that was literally from just a couple months before... don't waste your time, find another place read more

Originally saw this Podiatrist for inflamed big toe and second toe. He asked me if I wanted an injection for the inflammation. I received the injection and had a tendon rupture with a couple of days. Dr. Saunders did not get informed consent from me before the injection. He did not tell me about the possible side effects of the injection. After the fact, I learned that there can be side effects (tendon rupture) from injection of corticosteroids. I needed surgery to reconnect the tendon and Dr. Saunders would not take any responsibility for the injury. read more

I originally came to see Dr. Saunders for a second opinion regarding treatment I had already experienced. After severely fracturing many bones in my foot, I was treated by a surgeon at a different practice over the course of eight months. This treatment included three surgeries, three months of short term disability from my job, weeks off my foot, a gaping wound due to a hematoma underneath my stitches and the list goes on. Also this surgeon used, without my knowledge, an "out of network" anesthesiologist, costing me thousands of dollars of out-of-pocket expenses after I had already covered my out of pocket max for in-network providers. After all the surgeries and weeks of physical therapy, I was extremely dissatisfied with the condition of my foot both functionally and aesthetically. My surgeon at the time said that I should keep up with the PT and that I should be optimistic about getting better functionality eventually and that my focus on the disfigurement was shallow. At first I didn't think that Dr. Saunders was going to offer another shot at getting my severely fractured foot in decent working condition. Fortunately for me, he did offer his services. Because of the severity of my injury, he wanted to make sure my expectations were not too high but he made it clear his opinion was that another surgery would allow me some improvement. Well, he managed to correct my issues WAY beyond what I expected. I was and am thrilled with what he was able to do. My journey isn't over, but it's much easier now that I know I'm in good hands. I've been telling my family that this man is a surgical genius, and clearly an artist as well. My family and close friends were so appalled at the condition of my foot after the first three surgeries that they were pushing me to go for malpractice against my prior surgeon (not anything I would consider) BUT, after seeing my foot after what Dr. Saunders was able to correct, they are so relieved. I could go on forever but just want to mention one last thing....At 8:30 pm the night of my surgery which occurred at 7:30 in the morning, Dr. Saunders called me personally to ask how I was doing. Over a period of eight months and three surgeries, my prior surgeon never called me himself and neither he, nor his staff has reached out to me after I cancelled my last follow-up appointment in October of last year. Dr. Saunders' practice might not have big flat screen TVs in the waiting room, beautiful furniture, a separate medical assistant for everything from x-rays, splint/cast application, blood-pressure measurement, stitch removal (he does ALL of that himself), but they have the real goods. I went to Dr. Saunders because he has mad great credentials but the reason for this verbose review is that he has made an incredible contribution to my happiness. read more

I had an infected ingrown toenail (gross, I know) and needed relief ASAP!! However, it was the week of Thanksgiving and most places I called didn't have openings, However this place got me in the Wed before Thanksgiving. I saw Dr. Suykerbuyk. I shattered my ankle and needed surgery. Dr. Suykerbuyk was so nice and gave me all of the information beforehand and answered all of my questions very patiently. The surgery turned out well and he even managed to avoid my tattoos with the incisions. Through out my many many visits over the course of four months, all of the staff was very kind and helpful. This review is for the staff. did a follow up with the doctor after a surgery. doctor is great. but after having my surgery the staff did not check up on me. afrer my surgery i was in pain, called the office. was told the doctor wasnt in but i would get a call back. never recieved a call. had to go to the hospital. was called two weeks later for a follow up reminder. during that call i questioned why i never recieved a call and who dropped the ball on customer service. couldnt get a response. not happy read more

My appointment with Dr. Saunders was great, and he was very informative and addressed my concerns, indicating that the office would be in contact with me within a week regarding what my insurance would cover for next steps. I waited two weeks to follow-up, and had to leave a message with the receptionist to look into my questions. After not hearing back again for 6 more days, I decided to call again, just to be told that my insurance won't cover one of the recommended treatments and them "not being sure" if it would cover the other recommended treatment. I am not one to write reviews, but honestly would encourage finding another podiatrist who has a staff that is organized and patient centered. read more

I've been to Dr. Saunders twice in the past 8 years, both for serious injuries that required surgery to fix, and I am so glad that I did. I was nearly unable to walk by the time I got to him the first time. I came to him for a second opinion after receiving a very suspicious diagnosis from the first podiatrist I saw. Dr. Saunders was able to identify the issue almost immediately. I had broken a tiny bone in my foot which had gone unnoticed by the previous doctor that I had seen. We exhausted all nonsurgical options before I opted to have it surgically repaired. The surgery was less painful than the broken bone! I was so grateful I went to Dr. Saunders for a second opinion. The second time I saw Dr. Saunders was for a very bad sprain that wouldn't heal. I had torn a ligament in my ankle. Again, we exhausted all nonsurgical options before I decided to have it surgically repaired. The recovery was much more intense than the first surgery, but after several months of recovery, I'm almost back to 100%. I would not be walking right now if it wasn't for Dr. Saunders. He called me back personally when I had questions, and did everything himself, from applying my casts to removing my stitches. You will be in the best of hands with Dr. Saunders. read more

I was seen for a procedure back in 2017. When calling to make the appointment I was told that they were an in-network provider. In 2018 I started receiving bills for payment from a procedure back in 2017. Now I'm being told that Metro Foot and Ankle were not an in-network provider in 2017 and did not become in-network until April of 2018. Now I have a bill that should have been paid last year that I'm having to appeal because of being given false information. I will never go back to Metro Foot and Ankle, beware people. read more

After paying $500.00 for orthotics, waiting over a month to get them, then when going to pick them told you can not have them because it is their policy. Read the fine print when purchasing your orthotics, oh but wait there is no paper work. I also asked for a receipts, and was told we will email them to you, well it's been over 6 weeks and I have yet to see them. Dr. Suykerbuyk is a Super Star...I had a previous surgery (from another office/doctor) and knew something was still wrong with my foot. Well 9 months later, I realized that I really just need to go get a 2nd opinion. Dr. S took an xray of my foot and said the screw in my foot was too long. I scheduled surgery and had the screw removed, and he also had to work on the tendon. I did NOT want to go through surgery again, but this surgery was night and day compared to my first....I had ZERO pain and did not get sick like I did the first time. Being in pain for several weeks, realizing it wasn't going away I finally gave in and made an appointment. I'd been to this office a few years before when thanks to my pushy goat (yes goat) I dislocated and broke my toe. I received great service then so returned only to discover that I now have a bone spur in the heel of my foot. Not only is it extremely painful for my foot, from procrastinating it has caused issues with my back and has been an extreme pain in the A$$! Dr Saunders has been great, a whirlwind of energy, friendly and didn't get mad when I nearly kicked him when the cortisone injection felt like it zapped a nerve. He's given me several natural alternatives to get my pain under control like stretch exercises, & shoe inserts, none of which have included surgery, amen to that! He has even encouraged me to continue going to my chiropractor for pain relief. When most doctors just want to drug their patients, and drain their wallets Dr Dan offered a discount and payment plan for what I needed that wasn't covered by my insurance. My pain issues have decreased but I wouldn't hesitate to return where I know I'm going to receive nothing but great treatment. read more

My son went to the office on Country Club Way one time. Dr Saunders is very efficient and did take care of the problem. However, the office staff was not so nice. When we checked out they wanted money, I told them that we had no co-pay, that we get a discounted price through our insurance company. She did not like this answer and got real huffy with me. No words were said but non-verbal says a lot. Well now I just got what they charged my insurance company and it is outrageous. 775.00. That is just stupid. My son goes to a neurologist specialist and his charge is only 235.00. Really. I have never paid that much for a podiatrist and we have been to a few. read more
