What a place! So they sell foldable bikes, electric bikes, regular bikes, used LPs, and old and new instruments of all types. What a unique menagerie of inventory that just seems to work. The foldable bikes are a hit among the RV crowd they tell me. And I'll be back to take home some of their amazingly curated used LPs. They also buy your kindly used instruments. I only wish I could give them more stars!!! Steve the bike guy not only knows what he's talking about, he explains everything in layman terms so you can learn if you'd like to. I purchased a tube for my front tire and when I put it in, it wouldn't let me seat the bead into the rim on one certain part. I've changed and patched many tubes in my day but this one had me stumped. I took it back to Steve and he not only put it in place, he explained where I went wrong in a very nice way! If this place keeps treating me like they did the first time, they'll have a client for life!!! It so freaking hard to find companies who even know what customer service means. I love Metro Gnome so much! Their entire staff is so friendly and kind, and just wants to work with you to give you the best deal and quality that they can. They have so many interesting and wonderful things that you just can't get at a big box or online shop. The Bookman's music staff recommended them to me for a mic stand, and I ended up buying not only the perfect bicycle helmet for a good price, but also a new electric cello that they gave me a really excellent discount on! They even threw in the music stand I wanted along with my new cello, too. I can't recommend them enough! They do layaway too, and will work with you with whatever you need. I'll definitely be going back for my repair needs, from my refurb bike all the way to my cracked lap harp. So cool! read more

I stopped in last week to take some string instruments for bridge repairs. They were the bid winners for our school district. First time I've been in their store. First, the repairs were done quickly and competently. I enjoyed looking around. They have a variety of instruments for sale and rent (they rent to some of our students in our district). They also carry bicycles and is a local Brompton folding bike dealer. It's an older store and could use a little more brighter lighting, I think. Service was friendly and I appreciated that. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stopped by to pick up a guitar pick a few months ago and discovered they also sell bicycles. Decided to check them out as I was looking for an e-bike. Great selection of e-bikes and fantastic customer service. Todd really knows his bikes and was super helpful. Let me test ride a few to find the right bike for me. This place has been around for many years, and I used to come in here quite regularly back in the day. Unfortunately it seems like it has really left its best years behind. I came in because I happened to be in an area, and with some time to spare, decided to pay it a visit. Not much has changed. They still have an excellent array of things here, including musical instruments and stereo equipment. I was also surprised to find that they had diversified their offerings, and added bikes. Other than that, not much has changed. The person working there was the same person I saw on a weekly basis for several years. They still sell the same brands of musical instruments that they have been for years, and they still offer instrument rentals and repairs. It's a little pricier than what you might find online, but it's worth it for the excellent service. read more

Why this place has no reviews boggles me. This is your classic, local, buy/sell everything having to do with music...on steroids!! I'm in love! We searched for a couple of days looking for locations to rent a guitar for a couple of months to see if my daughter would actually follow through with her year long request to learn guitar. After finally finding Metro Gnome and talking with the guy on the phone, we headed south. This is one of those places you always pass by but never stop at, so I'm telling you people, STOP!! Patronize!! Things you can get: - Used CD's for $1 - Vinyl of all kinds - DVD's starting at $2 - Used video games and players - Stereo equipment - Stereo repair - New musical equipment of all kinds - Music instrument rentals of all kinds - much, much more!! The other places wanted over $35/mo. to rent a guitar with 2 months security down. Metro Gnome gave us a brand spankin' new steel string rental for $15/mo. with no down. He also said that if we beat the crap out of it and broke it, that repair was FREE! The only thing we would have to pay for were string replacements...$1/each. I asked him if there were any picks in the case and there weren't so he threw in a pack of picks prices at $3.99 for free. This is the kind of place that just wants to help you get into music and get you started, they're not out to squeeze you dry. Pretty good place if you're in the market for used music instruments, they seem to have a bit of everything from guitars, bass guitars, drums, and amps. They do have a small area for entertainment but not much, also have a pretty big area for bicycle equipment. They also provide repair services for instruments. Like I said if you're in the market for used music equipment I would definitely recommend stopping by this place to see what they have available. read more

Cool place! They advertise mainly as a music store, but they sell everything from video games, to DVD's and sets, all the way to bicycle parts! (They repair them, too). Prices are fair, and the owners are willing to negotiate on some things. Aaron helped me around and was very courteous. Would recommend this store to others! read more
