True story: I had an older road bike and took it to Pima Street Bicycle to have them put new tires on as I hadn't ridden it in years. When I picked it up, they had also replaced the handlebars like they were doing me a favor. I hadn't discussed the handlebars at all. They were exceeding nice and I was happy with them. I m still here and now we need a bike rack for the Prius. It's simple if you get the right rack. But the Prius rear hatch is different from model to model. So we had to fit it. Gary Has 2 brands in stock. We tried the Saris Bones 2 rack and it fit fine. Lifetime warranty. They do offer a military discount on parts. Nice rack. I expect the best. Gary and Jessie are the owners and they are there every day, treating customers like family. I explained how my previous shop indicates an issue I was having with my bike was my fault - not the bike's - because of user error. Having been an avid cyclist for over a dozen years I knew that wasn't the case. I took my bike into Pima Street and despite them being so busy prior to El Tour, they were scheduling a week and a half out, when they heard my story they took my bike right then and twenty-four hours later my bike was ready to go. I broke the chain on my bike. I tried to fix it and screwed it up... brought it to PSB and asked Gary to take a look. He fixed it in less than 10 min and didnt charge me anything. This is how you create a long term customer. This place is the epitome of a mom and pop shop. Gary is knowledgeable nice and looking around I found the prices reasonable for anything and everything you could need to fix bikes on your own. If you want Gary to do it for you, it'll be a reasonable service charge.... and if you want to buy a new/used bike you cant go wrong buying one that Gary has tuned up. This is now my go-to bike shop. Awesome! I had sent in my road bike for a tune up and received quick service. The owners are a very kind bunch and are willing to save you some money here and there. They are also very helpful with any tips and assistance. I had sent in my bike for a tune up which was $70, then a brake bleed for $20, and a replacement chain for $35. When I decided to take up biking again in my 50's, I bought a hybrid bike from them & rode it on Jessie's famous Tuesday coffee ride. Since then, my biking skills have improved & I now ride a carbon frame Trek. This past fall I was in a collision with another cyclist on the River path. Fortunately, I didn't suffer any serious injuries -same with the other cyclist but my bike took a major beating! I took it to Gary hoping he could fix it & he did but it was a challenge for him. Trek no longer made parts for my bike. Who would think a bike of 8 years is considered old? Gary didn't give up! He made calls & found a way to use similar parts to make my bike whole again. My wife and I bought our first bikes from Gary at the onset of Covid. Over the past 3 years they have been wonderful and my go to place for maintenance and annual service. I highly recommend them! We live on the far west side about 15 miles away and with heavy traffic through town, we decided not to continue with Pima St Bicycle. I left my bike there for about 10 days for annual maintenance. When I went there to pick it up on the promised date it was not ready. I had to drive all the way back home empty ended and return the next day. I wish they would have called me to say it wasn't ready on the promised date. My advice is to either call ahead or wait for Jesse to call you to say the bike is ready. Don't assume it is. They are really nice people and deserve your business. It just didn't work for us because of the time and distance going across town. read more

Outstanding service, reasonable price, friendly and knowledgeable owners and staff. I have a 20-year old LeMond Buenos Aires. Brought it in dusty, rusty, broken spokes, looking like crap. Before the end of the day, it was tuned up beautifully: trued the wheels, fixed the broken spokes, changed the tubes, cleaned up the chain ring, adjusted the breaks, and so on and so on. The bike hasn't looked or ridden this well in years. I expected to be charged 50% more for the work. I have to stick with my 2 star review. I was foolish to take your advice on the new tires without researching them on my own. They don't roll anywhere as easy as my old tires. When I said they were heavy, I meant that I felt heavy riding it. It is like riding up hill all the time. My bad. I questioned the rear bearings, because I wanted to believe that the tires were not that slow. The chatter and ghost shifting is real bad in the middle gears. It is easy to demo, but Gary rode it and did not have a problem, so I guess it is all in my mind. It is too bad that you can't post videos here. read more

I'm a relatively new bike commuter and the 2006 Raleigh I bought to get me back and forth to work has been having some issues. I tried several other bike shops and, despite good on-line reviews, found their mechanics were the 'throw some parts at it and see if that fixes it' variety. The problems persisted as my bank account shrank! Pima Street Bicycle has excellent reviews too, so I decided to give them a shot. I could tell as soon as I walked in that this place was very different from the other shops I had visited! I was greeted by the owner, Gary, who immediately began diagnosing the problem. He was friendly, and clearly knew his stuff. He also clearly really loves what he does. Long story short, I have a rebuilt bottom bracket a new bail housing and a straightened derailleur hanger -- all done at an extremely reasonable price. I bought the bike used and it rides better now than it has at any time since I've owned it.
