Pretty cool place that is BYOB but there is a bottle service fee (I guess that's how they make a…read morelittle extra money so we're happy to support). They did have a two-stick minimum the night we were there which seemed a little extra but we understand. There is a ton of comfy seating but unfortunately we had to sit in the high-top stool area so we're hoping next time we go back they have room for us to sit. The music was good, friendly staff, good lounge, and decent cigar selection. We happen to go there on a ladies' night but I didn't get any special attention from anybody other than my husband; not sure if there was a deal for the ladies but I didn't benefit at all. The location is a bit tucked away and up some sketchy stairs so just be warned. The smoke eaters were working over-time the night we were there because it was so crowded but still felt fine.

My boyfriend and friends absolutely loved this place. We found it early Sunday afternoon and they…read morewere in cigar heaven. As avid small business supporters of especially Black owned establishments we are happy to have found this gem and share with other's. Clean, great selection of cigars. Comfy seating, TV's all around, great music to vibe to. I'm not a cigar smoker and found it durable to sit inside. Service was impeccable, gentleman present was able to answer questions. Clean bathroom. Oh, this is a byob establishment. There is a bar downstairs if you're inclined. They do provide coffee if you would like to have one with your cigar.

Loved my first Dungeon Crawl at Silk City in July '26. Got there a little early and stopped into…read morethe beer garden to check out the menu and see how late the kitchen was open. I planned on grabbing something to go after the show. As I was perusing the menu I saw several dishes pass by and decided I couldn't wait any longer. In particular I noted the wings and chicken fingers, both of which looked amazing. I got a table next to the bar in their lovely beer garden. Has some TVs, a very friendly staff, and the food looked great. I was blown away by their chicken fingers. Obviously hand breaded, and served with Comeback sauce and your choice of ranch or blue cheese. I ate a few and saved the biggest one for a late night snack. Ended up eating it a couple days later and it was still delicious! I'll have to try the wings next time. Service was great, from hostess to servers, everyone had smiles. Food came out promptly and my drink was refilled without asking. Definitely a good start to the night. The Dungeon Crawl itself was the highlight of the evening! This is in the lounge/bar area of Silk City. It's an intimate setup with the stage in a corner with a dance floor and the bar area and a few tables at the other end. A DJ warms things up while the main act comes on at 8:00. It was Dogs in a Pile for my first visit and I was blown away by the sound and energy. 2 sets of amazing improv and jamming, with a dedicated crowd of music lovers. I can't wait to get to my next one!

We did have to wait a fair bit for our food order to be taken, and again for all four of our meals to come out. We all got breakfast items. I got the eggs Benedict which were very good. One of my friends got the breakfast sandwich called "Trenton makes - the World Takes" and I love the nod to some NJ history. Good food, nice ambiance. This was my first time here but I would definitely come back again.

Surprised to see such negative reviews on Punch Line. My experiences are always great and this past…read moreweekend was no exception. The security is quick and not too intense. The staff who seats you is always friendly and does a great job of getting everyone in. Typically the shows start right on time. I'm always a bit turned off my the two drink minimum if it's a night I'm not drinking, but they count waters towards your two drinks and are not very strict on the rule. The service for getting your drink is a bit slow, but it's a weird set up in there and they are trying not to be distracting, so there's prob a science to it all. Seating is good wherever you're at and the venue is clean and well kept.

I didn't have to wait in a long line and the bathrooms were also easily accessible. I was seated in a timely manner with a good view of the stage. My server was very pleasant and took my order with ease. I got a lemonade, stirred at the bar, and veggie nachos. Everything was great! The three comediennes who opened up for Winston Hodges were pretty funny. Winston was also a hoot! I had a great time and would love to come see another show the next time I'm visiting again.

I am by no means an edm/house music kind of person and that's what they played on every floor but I found myself jamming and feeling free. The amount of space there now is, is awesome as you don't feel overstimulated by the crowd. The fact that there's an outdoor area for people to smoke/just get some fresh air without having to leave the venue was something I didn't think I'd love so much. Absolutely would recommend this for everyone to take their friends out for a night out One thing to note - it was ticketed to get in and was $17 but I'm not sure if this is a thing that happens often

The Barbary reopened!…read more It's aight. I feel like I might be having my "old man shakes fist at cloud" moment: the place is clean. The numerous toilets and sinks all work. There's not a single bumper sticker or graffito to be seen. And drinks are still 2025 cheap... I think. But the inside is just kinda all black and neon... like "hey, we're cyberpunk now." Barbary, you were already cyberpunk when you were just regular punk existing at the edge of technological apocalypse, bro. Cyberpunk is crusty and biohacky, but I don't even know if that's what you're going for. Anyway, the place is nice. It even has what looks like a little bottle service area. I think back in the 2010s Barbary, the closest thing to bottle service would have been the dancing proletariat seizing the means of drunkenness from the owners and sharing cheap tequila amongst the people. And that's what I miss the most. Did the Barbary lose the jank and lack of maintenance money that made it an institution, or am I just old? The answer is yes.
