This spot isn't my scene, but it's super fun and a cool vibe. The bank vibe goes out the window on the weekends when it turns into a full club space. More of a college aged crowd with some seating areas in the middle but the main dance floor is truly giving club - which is fun, if that's your style! What an awesome experience this was. It's situated in an old insurance bank, apparently, complete with authentic vault door and furniture and decorations built into the walls. Very unique. We had a great time and the vault ambience lends itself to nice cozy experience. We didn't order any food, but I liked their take on the old-fashioned, and the surprisingly good non-alcoholic options (eg Caribbean mule). No complaints about service. Friendly folks--one of them gave us a tour of the nightclub side of the establishment in a separate underground wing. read more

I like this place. I probably will come back here. It's not a deal breaker because I know how to get a bar tender's attention, but people do notice when it takes too long to get a check. If you're looking for a romantic date night place in Philly, this is the spot. It is a speakeasy located in the basement of a hotel (?) building. We visited on a Saturday night and they had live music around 7:30pm. During the week Monday to Friday they have happy hour from 5-7pm and you can make reservations for that as well. People have told me they've been wanting to check this place out but didn't go because they have a dress code. Don't be discouraged by their dress code - the staff were very friendly and we didn't dress formal or anything, just a casual outfit. If you want to dress up and have a classy date night with your partner or friends, this is the place to do it as well. I got wine and my partner got the specialty "mint" to be drink. There was such a vibe to trying out this spot for the first time. Hidden off of Walnut street in an old bank vault that I had no idea existed, Midnight and the Wicked served as a snazzy new spot to grab a drink in the city. Being sober I had options for NA wine and sparky drinks, which is always a welcome surprise. There was a piano player who served the vibe for the evening as we settled in as a party of over 10 people celebrating a birthday (reservations made beforehand). Service was prompt and polite to accommodate the event and we lounged comfortably in their velvet lounge chairs. I didn't check out the actual night club spot, being a sensitive sensory Sally, but enjoyed myself nonetheless in their Great Gatsby-inspired speakeasy club. read more

10 out of 10 experience. Came here on a Wednesday night and although not crowded, we appreciated the piano music and ambiance. The entire decor is so classy looking and really looks like a speakeasy but it still has the fun vibes too with different themed music nights. My espresso martini was so good and the humans was AMAZING (we would have like a little more pita bread because it was so good too!). We will definitely be back and were recommended to make reservations. Our bar tender Chris was very helpful with drink suggestions and tips about coming back. I stopped by twice during my time in Philly, Once with a group of 6 and once with a group of 8. I highly recommend making a reservation ahead. Our first night, there was live piano music and our second night there was a someone singing. Overall, our group tried most of the drinks and we liked all Of them. My favorite drink was the showgirl-tini. This was a very sweet drink. I also enjoyed the Romeo and Juliet. If I'm back in the area, I would return. read more

Midnight & the Wicked is such a great addition to Philly -- I've been a few times now and love it more each visit. It's perfect for a chill, relaxed date night or a fun girls' night out. Later in the evening, the Vault transforms into a nightclub, so you really get two experiences in one spot. The space itself is stunning. We went with a couple of friends yesterday and think this place is perfect for organizing an event or socializing with others because of how lively it is. Drinks are good but the vibe is definitely the highlight of the place. The place is very ornate and beautifully decorated. The servers were constantly checking on us. We came here to celebrate a friends birthday who recently moved to Philly! I was extremely impressed with everything. First thing I loved was that there was no cover charge and the line wasn't as long as we thought it was going to be. Thankfully we found a spot after waiting for a little bit. The atmosphere is great and the decor throughout the entire place is gorgeous! It kinda gives Great Gatsby! It's a great spot for photos (even the bathrooms lol). The only thing I have to say is that the drinks were extremely expensive. However, I couldn't complain too much because my "showgirl martini" aka pornstar martini was one of the best I've ever had. They had someone come around with a professional photo who randomly took a few photos of us and somewhat instructed us on how to pose which was really nice! Later they came around with a couple of the best that they got and offered us a physical and digital copy of it. I expected the price to be absolutely insane but it was around the same price of a cocktail so we bought it and I'm glad we did! The dance floor was fun and I loved the lighting. This location is actually an old bank so the boat is still there and you use that as an entry way into another lounge area. This place is very cool. I love the decor and the low lighting. It gives it an intimate vibe. There's parking right across the street but I suggest coming into town via train or Uber to avoid the parking prices. if it's crowded, it could take long at the bars to get your drinks. The one thing I did not like is that the Bartenders weren't wearing gloves and they were digging in the garnishes!!! that is not sanitary! definitely something to correct with the staff. read more

This place is a perfect hidden gem in Center City Philadelphia. The ambience is absolutely incredible. The drinks are amazing and there are plenty of delicious alcohol free options if you're not a drinker. The staff is super friendly and there's something beautiful to look at everywhere you turn. Nice venue, tasty drinks. However, the service was extremely unprofessional. The entire experience for what claims to be, "the pinnacle of Philadelphia", is laughable. My friends & I were the only ones there and the staff couldn't care less. The business is supposed to create an elevated experience but the staff portrayed the opposite. The price is not reflective of the experience the business is claiming to deliver. I would recommend heading to any other place. **Update**The person that responded says I was rude with their cocktail waitress when our waiter was a male. I came here for the LikeMinded mixer last Friday, and it was very fun. There were two sections where guests could walk through and mingle with people. The music was a bit too loud, so talking to people during the mixer was hard. After 10pm, the club opened to the public, and the lights and music changed. There's a speakeasy area with many tables/chairs for people to sit down, drink, and talk more privately. Then there's the club area with music, flashing lights, and a bar. The remaining parts of a vault combined with the s-shaped bar make the main area an inviting place to chat. Gorgeous ambiance and vibe that Midnight & The Wicked provides! It's a beautiful and sexy vibe on an evening where the nightclub isn't taking over. The cocktails are unique, cutely named, and tasty. I was a little bummed that there wasn't any small bites or food but the cocktails were great. Each room is beautifully decorated and contributes to the ambiance and the brand of this establishment. The service from the bar was quick and kind. My friend and I enjoyed this visit and will definitely be back, it's a great spot to either begin your "late" night or finish! 1920s speakeasy themed bar in the downstairs part of a building. We went for a friend's birthday and came all dressed up. Dimly lit for the mood and they had a pianist playing for part of the evening. We hung at the bar in the beginning. I was told by one of my friends for the seating near the bar we would have to do bottle service or guarantee that each person spends $50. We didn't do it. We ended up going into another room that was a little bit more spacious with more seating. They also had a DJ setting up for the rest of the night. They have a wide variety different drinks and about 3 choices of finger foods, hummus, smoked salmon bites, and little caprese skewers. I was also told that they ran out of milk so If you wanted a latte or anything needing milk they couldn't do it. I did try the smoked salmon bites. Nothing wild about it. I tried the Caribbean Mule and that was pretty tasty. It's like a Pineapple flavored mule. And I also got the Margarita de mûre which was also delicious. I like fruity drinks and this one was good with blackberries. During the course of the night a lot of glass cups breaking. From my count maybe 6. Apparently it happens a lot. Anyways they were quick to clean it all up. One thing though is that my friend had opened a tab and the bartender said that her card wasnt scanning so they held the card. At the end of the night when she had to close her tab they didn't have her card and told her that they don't hold cards. They ended up finding it and basically told her not to worry about the tab. So I'm not sure if they charged her or if they didn't because of the inconvenience. Overall it was a good time. Enjoyed the drinks. Love the theme and interior design of the whole bar. read more

Firstly, it's a beautiful space. It truly embodies what I've always envisioned a 1920s speakeasy to resemble. Now that I've been a couple of times, I think I can write a full review. If you want to sit for lounge drinks, make a reservation. You don't wait in line outside, go to the door and tell them you have a reservation. Then you go downstairs and let the woman at coat check know you're there for your resy. Only problem is that she's always run off her feet, so a line forms. Once you get to your table, depending on which room you're in (and the live entertainment), you'll either be yelling to your partners or in a moderate tone. The drinks, for the most part, are good. I can't remember the first drink I had, but I did not like it at all. I sent it back. The next, which was a gin based drink no longer on the menu, was great. The next visit I had the Pearl & Petal and my friend and I agreed that it was one of the best drinks we ever had; however, they served my other friend a curdled cappuccino at the same time, which brought down the experience. I honestly don't know how this place has five stars. The vibe was loud, chaotic, and confused -- more nightclub than speakeasy, which totally undercuts the $22-a-drink ambiance they're aiming for. The lounge singer/pianist mix felt mismatched, and the setup could be improved by at least dividing the line upon entry if separate entrances aren't possible. The service was disappointing: our server seemed more focused on performative flirtation than actually providing hospitality, which came off awkward and unprofessional. To top it off, several ingredients were out of stock, which is unacceptable at this price point. The drinks themselves were good, but that was the only saving grace. This place has potential to deliver on its upscale promise, but right now it feels more like a college-town hangout trying too hard to be a speakeasy. read more

This is a great place to spend a night out in Philly. There are multiple space and rooms inside with totally different vibes. I have been many times but took my sister last night for her bachelorette. We got a table in the lounge area, we sat there for one drink, the service was really slow (which I understand it's a busy Saturday night but for the price of the drinks and the way they market themselves as an elevated experience I would expect more). I have never reserved a table here before and I am not sure if I would again. The vibe of the whose space is amazing, the cocktails are delicious and it's an all around cool spot. Roaring 20s it is in this basement speakeasy at 15th & Locust. It was a bank back in the day, and the redeveloper had good sense to make the old vault a big part of the attraction. Huge circular vault door and round doorway behind where you can walk in and grab a red velvet covered table with small bar in back. Main bar is enormous, with curved marble top and large back bar mirrors and shelves. Overall, the vision of the owner comes through and captivates. I was there for an early Christmas gathering with about one hundred of my closest friends and mates. Open bar was amazing with Signature House Drinks that would have been $20+. My Grand Margarita (Grand Marnier) hit the spot and the other fresh fruit and infused cocktails put everyone in a great mood. Perhaps, a little light on the appetizer menu, unless you love Mac & Cheese (BBQ for me), but running this bar tab no one complained. Piano accompaniment with Christmas songs fit right in. The three main rooms each had their own distinctive vibe, but were true to the theme Great Gatsby throughout. Can only imagine what it would be like with band, songstress and dance. This joint is said to be open from dusk to dawn with no last call until the lights go out. Midnight didn't feel particularly "Wicked," but maybe it slides that way other nights or after our party ended. To each his own. We all had a smashing time! read more

Early holiday party at such a cool venue!Midnight & The Wicked is a speakeasy that really is hidden from the street minus the small sign pictured below. You enter through an office/apartment like entrance. Once inside you take the marble steps down to the basement and suddenly you are in an amazing space. There is a club room with a dance floor and several lounges. Drinks are pricy but there's no cover and they are open until 2am everyday. The huge vault is pretty cool. I was one of the first to arrive and got some fantastic space photos! Definitely a cool spot to hit up if you are in the city in search of a hidden gem. read more
