I have quickly come to realize that Groupons, Half Off deals, and all these other deal sites, have to be taken with a grain of salt, because apparently they don't weed out the good from the bad. My boyfriend had bought a deal from Metro Mow-n-Go to have his yard aerated and to be seeded and fertilized, well the day come for this to be done, and he scheduled it in the morning so that he could take care of this and then head to work. Well, that morning, he hears from the owner, to "confirm" his appointment that day at 9:00 AM. Well come around 10:00, he is yet to hear from him, or see him pull up in his driveway, and of course, he isn't answering his cell phone. Well me being the little "ball of fire" that I am, tell him to give me the number so I can try, and when I call, the guy picks up and tells me it's MY FAULT that I waited around for him, because he wouldn't be over in our area till later that evening. So we are left thinking...."what's the point of an appointment, if you're just going to show up whenever the heck you want anyways"?!?!?! *Something to Ponder* Needless to say, it was a waste of our money, because my boyfriend ended up having to go to work, and has no idea what the guy came and did, and what kind of a job he did, because their was apparently no point in him trying to make an appointment to be there when the guy was coming. Got a $99 aeration, fertilizer and overseed deal on living social. For the price, my expectation were quite low, yet Metro MNG still managed to extremely disappoint. Their 'aeration' resembled an armadillo with an earthworm fetish, taking baseball sized chunks out of the earth in a couple spots and not much elsewhere. They promised 4lbs of seeds per 1000 sqft (up to 6000 sqft), but they seeded only 3lbs total for over 6000 sqft and told me not to expect good results. This place is a JOKE. AVOID! P.S. If Darwin had an award for worse run company, these people would get it. I truly don't understand how they are in business with their HORRIBLE customer service skills. Like many others, I bought the $99 aeration/overseed deal on Living Social. I went to Metro's website to schedule my appoint (per the instructions) on 9/13/2012 and made my appt for 10/8/12 at 4pm. Even though their website said that the appt. scheduling was to collect info only, I never received any other date/times from them, so assumed the 10/8 appt. was correct. The week before my appt. I called AND emailed requesting that someone please confirm my appt. for 10/8 as I had to leave work early to meet them at my house. **crickets** Yesterday 4pm came and went, and when I called them to find out where they were, someone FINALLY answered the phone and told me that my appt. was scheduled for 10/9 between 8-5pm. Of course I pointed out that a) I expected them on 10/8, b) had tried several times to confirm the 10/8 date with them, c) had never received anything from them contradicting the 10/8 date that had been scheduled almost a MONTH ago, d) was not a mind reader, etc. I was told that this was a problem with a lot of the Living Social people. On top of everything, he couldn't even guarantee that someone would be out between 8-5pm on 10/9 because their regular customers service was the priority and came first. Needless to say, I cancelled my appt. and have contacted Living Social for a refund. These people had a golden opportunity laid in their laps to increase their customer base with new business and have totally blown it. ---- In response to Ernest: Yes, Ernest, obviously it wasn't your companies fault that you never got in touch with me during the 25 days that I booked the appointment on your website, as required, to explain to me that said appointment, scheduled for 10/8/12 wasn't really my real appointment time. Silly me for thinking since I didn't hear from you in 25 days that the 10/8 appointment was correct -- even though I foolishly left several emails and phone messages requesting a confirmation that the 10/8 date was correct. Perhaps if you spent more time answering your phone or emails, and less time trying to hopelessly defend your irrational business methods on Yelp, you'd have less detractors? read more

The owner never performed my service. I scheduled an appointment three weeks early and on the odd one day of the week he sets aside for my area. The day of my appointment came and went with no call from metro mow n go. I then called the owner and he assured me he would handle my yard the next day. The next day came and went with no services rendered. I continued to call and request my lawn be serviced and he continued to lie to me. I'm very unhappy because I pre-paid for three lawn service treatments and only got one after much hassle. When I tried to call him for a refund Earnest, refused to answer my calls. I have had to file a complaint wit the better business bureau with the hopes that I can recoup some of my funds. This company is very unprofessional and crooked. The company failed to show up for my originally scheduled appointment and a second appointment. In both cases they sent me an E-mail confirmation of the time. They also failed to respond to other attmpts to contact them by phone of messages on their website. Unfortunately I have missed some prime fall growing season for fescue. read more

I too bought the living social coupon for $99. 7 weeks have gone by without any communication from the company. From other reviews, it looks like that might be a good thing. There's no way for a credit or refund without contact from either Mow N Go or Living Social (they require you to contact the merchant for refund). I've contacted my credit card company to disregard the charge. Definitely forget this outfit and pay the price for a reputable company. read more
