I had been to this salon maybe 3 times and up until my last visit I would say it was a good place, however, my last visist completely turned me off, and I will never return. I love the ladies that work here, but the salon is poorly managed and appointments are often not honored. I had an appointment for 1:15 today, but management forced my nail tech to take 2 other clients while I was receiving a pedicure. She was not able to come to me until a full hour after my original appointment time and I was unable to get my manicure because I had somewhere to be. It's too bad. Came to this salon out of convenience, living across the street and all. My first time was great (sometime long before COVID), second time was nothing special apart from the company of my boyfriend which made all the difference, and third time was definitely the charm. The owner was nice, which was what brought me back- I felt the "friend" vibe he gives off, ladies were okay, however I did get cut multiple times and kept having to say ouch or pull back when she cut me... and then felt some weird energy in the salon as if I did something wrong. It was a whatever experience but I came here to get my nails done and enjoy my time out of the house so there wasn't much I expected to go wrong. I made an appointment to make sure they had someone to see me, so they sat me right away and my artist started filing. It was chill until i noticed the owners son (or someone's son) was running back and forth through the salon screaming, playing, running in and out of the front door slamming on the glass counters and banging his truck toy around. It was annoying and frustrating but I get it 'things changed cause of covid' or whatever- 30 minutes after the kid runs and runs and runs around I was at peak capacity and something happened and he started SCREAMING and crying. The owner was nowhere to be seen. This was when I lost it. Please teach your kid how to behave in your business or warn your customers they will be babysitting for you while they are present. Goodness. I have given them numerous opportunities to redeem themselves. Everyone has a bad day or even two but this nail salon is seriously the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a nail salon. Don't be fooled by the beautiful shop. It's gorgeous and right on my way home from work but I always call to make an appt and they always say they they can see me and I always wait. Not just a few minutes. Often a half an hour. Today, Sunday, I called and Kevin answered the phone heellllloooooo (like a teenager) and I ask him if they are able to see me for my services and he says yes but could I come by 45 minutes later than I'd requested. All good. Just wanted to make sure they could see me today. I get there (been there six times) and Kevin asks me if I've been there even after I sign in with my phone number and met him several times. (Can't they see I've been there?) asks me what I wanted and I explained. He wanted me to sit at the nail bar and I told him I wanted a pedicUre at the same time and he said he couldn't do that. Had a wonderful experience here at Metro Nail Lounge today! I don't routinely go to the salon but I wanted to pamper myself with a nice Manicure/Pedicure Spa Package. And this was the PERFECT place to do it! They have so many options to choose from, it's very impressive! I ended up choosing the Royal Package and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was about 1 hr 30 mins. Kim and Megan both did a great job. Always checked that everything was going well for me throughout the process and if the temperature was okay for me with every step. The salon is very clean and all the tools were individually wrapped. Very sanitary which was great to see. The overall atmosphere was very relaxing and calming. I loved the serene music they played. Beautiful and new salon. Check in was kind of annoying-- when I called before coming in, they asked what services I wanted. Upon arrival, they asked again what services I wanted and I also had to input the services I wanted into their check in tablet. The staff were very friendly and professional. My pedicure was amazing and came out gorgeous. As for my gel mani, the technician somehow managed to pollute my nail color on my left hand. Instead of pure white like my right hand and toes, there were a lot of pink-colored streaks that were annoyingly noticeable. The technician noticed when she was done and apologized, but didn't offer to fix. I'm pretty sure the streaks were caused by the last person's nails that the drill was used on. By the time she got to my right hand, the color had worn off, so only my left hand had steaks. Pretty strange. I recall noticing some other reviews that may have mentioned the same thing. I will likely return, but I will be adamant that the drill bits are cleaned off if I go with white again. read more

I really wanted to love this salon, especially because it's just down the street, but there are a few red flags I just can't ignore for health reasons. After my first visit, I would have given metro nail lounge 5 stars! The owner of the salon was checking in guests, he was super friendly, and although I had a pretty long wait even with an appt, he made sure I was comfortable and had a mimosa in hand. I don't typically drink, but as a mom to a one year old, it was a refreshing treat to help unwind. That and this place was sparkling clean, their decor has a trendy esthetic, and my manicure was well done! After my visit today, I likely will not be returning. I was greeted and checked in as normal. The screen to the sign in touchpad was so grimy I could hardly see through the smudges you type in my info. I was seated right away, and this is when I noticed the white counter that was previously sparkling clean looked like it hadn't been wiped down in quite some time (I'm guessing at least a week). My nail tech starts on my nails and it's not long before I realize EVERY nail tech in this salon is sick and coughing without covering their mouths. As someone with a one year old, I do what I can to keep from getting sick and bringing anything home to my baby. I'm also a nurse so I know the importance of hand hygiene. Around this time, my nail tech coughs pretty much in my face....I get it, we all get sick here and there but I feel the techs could at least be wearing masks to prevent the spread of whatever bug they have. That aside, my nail tech then tells me my hands are too dry and suggests a paraffin dip. I decline, to which she follows with "well then you should drink more water" which is laughable because that's all I drink (with the exception of the occasional cocktail on girls night maybeee once a month haha). My hands are dry because I wash them all day with antibacterial soap, because as mentioned above, I have a one year old! I just felt like it was a little jabby because I declined a paraffin wax treatment. The final straw was that I was then asked IF I wanted a hand massage. I've never been asked if I want the massage that comes WITH my nearly $40 manicure. I was so over it by this point so I told her it was fine. I paid and left. My nails look great, but I just can't get past the uncleanly and rude atmosphere..such a shame because the owner was so kind and courteous! Wish his employees followed his example.. read more

I told him no that is what I wanted it is not my fault he left me soaking for 40 min I just wanted the foil paper removed. When the girl removed it she tells me this will not come off with only acetone.... I told her I told the previous girl it was gel x. The manager in charge was very rude and not attentive at all. Soaked my nails and did not even ask questions seeing me soaking for so long. It might be pretty and all but the service is horrible. Will not come to this place again. It would have been ridiculous to get charged for waiting over an hour at your facility just to get nail polish removed, when I was suppose to come out with nail dipping. My husband & I were given a gift card that we decided to use earlier today for pedicures. This was our first time here & we felt they did a pretty good job (we didn't get to catch their names). When we were walking to the front desk to pay, my husband noticed that the staff that did my pedi saw that he was holding the gift card, he saw her make some type of motion & say something to the other lady at the front desk. As we hand over the gift card, front desk staff says that we cannot use the gift card because she does not know how to do this type of transaction because the system is new & that the owner is out on vacation. Front desk then asked if we had a Visa or Mastercard to make payment, which of course we ended up having to use. It seemed that none of the other staff members either did not want to say anything or did not know what to do because nobody came to assist her. She tells us that we can save the gift card for next time. If gift cards aren't being accepted as payment, then this is probably something that should not be offered/sold until it is readily available to be used. Also, if the gift card was sold in the first place, how is it that it cannot be used as payment all of a sudden?? Makes us wonder if this is just a way of trying to haggle customers. It's basically as if we had to pay double. We had a means of payment (gift card) & supposedly it couldn't be taken at the time...? I am pretty much in love with this place. I didn't wanna fall in love with it. I tried not to. But one day I found myself walking through the front doors and immediately transported into a beautiful oasis of sparkly chandeliers and crispy white chairs. The pearly tub where I put my feet was super comfortable and the massage chair not only massaged my entire back but it also massaged my thighs and legs. Every time I'm there, I'm greeted with a smile and sometimes a joke from the owner. Kevin and his lovely wife (and son) are what makes this business feel like visiting a friend. My pedicures are above par. The conversation from the staff while they are working on my request is unmatched. The shape of my nails are beautiful and to my request every single time without fail. They do not leave the nails too thick and they do not leave the nails too thin. I am given mimosas upon request and a refill whenever needed. Sometimes they're very busy but they always do your best to make you feel like a guest and not like an additional burden to the staff.
