The first two times I came in, the service was great -- helpful, friendly, and attentive. But this last visit was a completely different story. No one greeted us when we walked in. We stood there clearly waiting, but the staff completely ignored us. They were too busy having personal conversations with other people -- not even helping them, just chatting as if it were a hangout spot. One worker spent the entire time stacking shoe boxes and never once looked up or acknowledged us. Not even a "Hey, we'll be with you in a minute." Nothing. We waited patiently, but after about 20 minutes of being completely overlooked, we just walked out. It's one thing to be busy, but this felt like they didn't care at all that we were there. It was rude, unprofessional, and disappointing -- especially considering how good the service used to be. Unfortunately, after this experience, I won't be coming back. Other running stores actually treat their customers with respect.

This service is a real mixed bag. Some of the drivers are great, and some are downright mean. The…read moredispatcher's are also a mixed bag - if you get one of the good ones, all is well. But if you get one of the bad ones, best of luck to you (and they can be downright rude, which is odd given that you are calling to pay them money ...). But they are also a monopoly, and if you need a ride in Darien, you are stuck, as this is likely the only joint in town. Be forewarned that drivers will come to pick you up, arrive before your requested departure time, and then leave when you don't come out early. So it can be particularly difficult to make your train time. Most cars are very old - 250,000 miles or more on virtually every car. Be wary of drivers at night, as I've often experienced very sleepy drivers when coming in to the train station after 10pm. (But your only other choice is walking, and in a town with limited sidewalks, it's bad either way). First choice would be to beg a friend for a ride, then you have little other choice but to use these guys. Good luck. And buckle up.

Despite my best efforts in the past to do Fall train rides, which turned out to be disappointing only because there was never any good colors on trees, this by far is the very best fall foliage experience I've ever had in my life. You get great views of the tree color transitions and just great photo opportunities. It does get cold on the water so bring a jacket. Experience is as excellent as last time with beverages and snacks for purchase. If you enjoy fall colors, great scenery and boats then you have to do this at least once.
