If you're LGBT or POC, STAY AWAY! You will be treated like garbage. I walked in, looking to get either a 10 by 5, 10 by 10, or even 10 by 15 storage unit. I've had several indoor/climate-controlled storage units in Minnesota and so far, this is the most expensive I've looked at. I did mention that to the person giving me a tour and they seemed to be personally offended that I brought up price. My existing indoor storage unit is a 10 by 10 and I'm paying $79 after tax, but it's quite a drive (Burnsville) which is why I wanted something north of the metro. I filled out my paperwork for a 5 by 10 unit for $89/month, bought the lock you can only get from Metro Storage for $15 and signed up for their insurance ($9/month). I mentioned my girlfriend/partner and the employee said, "This isn't going to be a good fit," and refused to rent to me, presumably because I'm a leabian. I left without incident and called corporate. The employee did not specify what "wasn't a good fit" about me, but after you tell someone you're gay and they stop the transaction, tell you to GTFO and your money is not good here, you just leave and be glad you didn't submit your girlfriend to this totally unprofessional jerk. I was ASTONISHED this isn't a franchise operation because this employee didn't want my money as soon as they found out I was queer. If I was a district manager of Metro Storage, I would be mortified a customer was treated this way. Again, if you aren't a straight white person, take a lesson from my experience and AVOID Metro Storage locations! They don't deserve your business and are overpriced to begin with. read more

The previous reviews I have read about this facility appear more personally motivated than about the actual facility's service providing a storage space. I have rented several times around the US, and this location's Metro Self Storage is the best rental i have utilized. i got my unit at a below-market rate a year ago and after about four months, it went up about five or ten dollars per month, but the new rate was still lower than the average going rate for a 5x10 foot space. One must consider all of the factors in a storage facility, and for me, the indoor drive-in loading area, clean units and bathrooms, and no-nonsense staff made my experience great! now Metro is my first choice for future storage needs. read more

I have rented for over 1 year, really appreciated the great service and helpfull staff, clean environment a plus. The drive in is very nice on those cold days, sometimes requiring a little patience. A clean storage facility, well lit and friendly staff. However, in the last two months it has been very busy in the loading lane and sometimes difficult if not impossible to exit the facility without waiting due to folks parking on both sides of the lane; blocking the exit. It would be great if they would put some signage up inside the loading area to help manage the traffic. read more

I don't have a lot of experience with storage units but I have been renting two units from Kathy and her team for the past two years. I really don't have any complaints outside of when it gets busy there can be a minor backup of cars. This only happened a couple of times on the weekend, but staff had people move their vehicles so people could get in and out of the garage. The payment process is very transparent, no hidden fees, and the customer support is great as well when it comes to returning messages. Like others have mentioned, the facility is very clean and well maintained and secure. I felt safe going their after hours when I needed to. read more

We are so very happy with finding Metro Storage Blaine location! We have seen many storage facilities and this one​ surpasses them all! After experiencing a house fire we were in need of a clean, safe and accessible place to store our belongings. We knew this would be for an extended period of time so wanted to make sure it was a place we could see ourselves coming to, sometimes daily, as we were displaced to hotels and needed to retrieve items. Not only did Metro at this location meet all of our needs, but it also​ surpassed them. The staff, especially​ Kathy, are excellent and very helpful and do everything they can to make sure you have what you need! They go above and beyond which is hard to find these days. This place is so clean you could eat off the floor and to have all of our very special items, in a ​ ​climate-controlled​ facility that is truly at a comfortable level​ all year round, was more than we expected. We have been here now for over two years and are so very pleased with the management and facility that will continue to stay until we no longer have a need for storage. We do not want to lose our place here since we know what other options are out there, and in our opinion, they do not even compare to the level of satisfaction we have here. I have recommended this facility to family and friends that are in ​need of a safe, clean, affordable​ space with excellent management, and will continue to do so. Highly recommend. They are friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Facility is extremely clean, well lit, heated and has excellent cameras. I had to go close to closing on a Saturday and Kathy stayed late and never seemed impatient or in a hurry to get out of there which is rare these days. It is a little expensive but I believe you get what you pay for. read more

Used the online feature to reserve a storage unit size that worked for us. They GUARANTEED that it would be available and would be reserved for us to come and sign the paperwork. The next day as we were driving there we received a call that the unit wasn't available even though it was guaranteed and the could only suggest we rent a different size but wouldn't budge on the price for their mistake. The guarantee means nothing to them and we decided to go to trojan storage not far away and they had the unit size we needed and that they said they had. I would recommend trojan but not Metro. read more

We went to this facility because it was brand new and there was an introductory half price offer. Not worth it! They began leasing units before construction was complete so access has been limited to business hours when most people are at work themselves. The weekend we moved we were notified 2 days prior that the next layer of asphalt was being laid in the parking lot and there would be no access all weekend. 2 weeks ago I was told that access hours would be extended until 9 on weeknights and longer than 4:30 pm on weekends. I'm not sure how much construction is still being done there but now our moving out of the unit and into our new home is limited as well - which we were assured would not be the case when we signed the lease.
