Do not trust these people with anything. They allowed me to spend hundreds of dollars with them in uniforms and then reported to my company that they weren't the exact company brand and reported it to my company for no reason even though they look identical and now I can't wear these uniforms and I'm out hundreds. Not to mention they've repeatedly gotten multiple orders wrong,and turn around time is insane at times. In the past I've also paid extra money for a "rush fee" to get things done quicker but then had my uniform made incorrectly which made everything take longer and I was not refunded my rush fee. read more

This is the company that the Fresno City Police department uses for its uniforms and when I needed a shirt for my school chaplaincy position I was sent here to select it. The service I received was outstanding. The young lady who helped me was very attentive and showed me a number of shirt sizes I might like and provided a well-lit dressing room. The embroidery was done in a couple of weeks and when I went in to pick up the shirt it had been pressed, hung on a hangar and bagged. The location is a bit difficult to find. The store is on the Blackstone side of the street and the parking lot is shared with the Fresno Unified School building. read more

I work security, I ordered a uniform shirt for work online from UniformWarehouse.com , the day after I got it in the mail I came in here to Metro after being recommended to them by other co workers, with my own company shoulder patches to be sewed on . The young dude that helpedme claimed it was used and inspected the shirt for a good minute even after I clearly brought the package bag it came in . Then charged me extra for it not being bought at their store . Said it was 2 weeks time for them to sew on TWO patches. Unbelievable. read more

The prices are on the high side, but the service is good and the staff are friendly. The location is easy to get to but not in a great area of town. I have been doing business with Metro since 2006. The staff is friendly, and the equipment / uniform selection is satisfactory. The trouble begins when an order is placed for an item that's not in stock or when creating a work order for the application of uniform patches, embroidery, etc. Although the work orders are filled out correctly, the instructions on the order are rarely followed and the wait times are quite long. Uniform work orders are rarely completed on time and no explanation is given. Orders that are completed incorrectly are still offered to the customer as though they might want the products in spite of the fact they are wrong. Equipment orders take weeks but this isn't disclosed to you until two to three weeks into your wait. Calling on the phone to get an order status is met with disorganized and often conflicting responses. Delivery dates are not met and the staff seems perplexed as to why. I think it's time to reorganize, implement reasonable product ordering procedures, and take quality control seriously. It seems like you guys are doing just enough work to get by and your business practices need to be modernized. You've become overly dependent on having existing accounts with government agencies and being the only game in town. Lastly, you should price your products competitively regardless of your government and corporate customer base. The man at the counter was rude and had attitude when asking for half of our party to wait outside(which is understandable due to Covid). The old lady behind the counter junked underneath her breath. Extremely rude and unprofessional staff. I dealt with Ms. Andrea several times, and she has been extremely rude, discourteous, and treats law enforcement staff like they are criminals. I tried exchanging a shirt, but was unable to due to the shirt looking like it had been worn. (My significant other has purchased the shirt for me to try on, and I came back to return it the next day) she threw the shirt on the counter, and stated we cannot re sale this because it looks like it has been worn. (Polo shirt was a bit wrinkled). I almost lost my cool because no one deserves to be treated this way, so I left. This is not the first negative encounter I've had with this business. Metro Uniforms encompasses the best attributes of what makes a small, American, family-owned business unique and what it can offer their customers compared to large franchise stores and enterprises. To start, the customer service at Metro is nothing less than excellent. Ryan and Jennifer are a couple of Metro's finest employees worth an honorable mention. Compared to other uniform stores in town, when you walk in through the door there is an employee always available to help you. You won't find yourself twiddling your thumbs waiting for a sales associate to assist you. The selection at Metro is better than what you would expect for boots, holsters, flashlights and other items which are in stock and available in high quantities at the store. I question a few of the Yelp reviews giving Metro less than a four-start rating noting that these reviews complain about common problems associated with making special orders. I would advise folks coming to purchase uniforms on a deadline to not wait until the very last minute to make your purchases and orders knowing that you must have your equipment for your first day on the job. Custom orders for embroidery, patchwork, tailoring, and other work takes time and these are job performed by humans. Errors will occasionally be made, and Metro is very good about taking care of their customers and making things right when Metro is at fault. One thing Metro cannot do is buy you time. This is why waiting to make custom orders two weeks before your academy is set to start is not prudent. Plan ahead. read more

First order from this business was a few weeks ago...and they exceeded expectations. I've never been to their retail location, I live and work in the SF Bay Area. I ordered several sets of uniforms through the website. Box arrived on time, and everything was exactly as pictured/described. I did have to take one shirt to a local tailor shop for some minor alterations, but that's not something that can be done when ordering through the mail. Price was significantly less than anything I've found in the area, even accounting for shipping charges. I was pleasantly surprised to see a general lack of "surcharges." Every shop I've been to in the Sacramento/SF area has had all kinds of charges that can double the advertised prices. For example: I'm a big guy (6'2'' with a size 56 jacket (without leaving extra room for the vest)) and everyone else charges $20-$40 for "oversize." Then there are charges for patches, nametapes, etc. At Metro Uniform, the advertised price includes all of this. Everything arrived ready to use with patches and nametape stitched on. If I could give them 0 stars I would, I went in there 2 different times and both times the employees are so miserable and hate their job. The 1st time I went in there was with my sister to get her school uniform. They were just rude, did their job but with a horrible attitude. I thought to myself maybe they're just having a bad day, I let it go and moved on. Well a couple months later which is the 2nd time I went in there and it was for myself to get my school uniform, same people, same horrible attitudes and for them to assume I went in there for a medical assisting uniform just isn't great service. Can't even talk to your customers to see what they're in the for let alone have a good attitude. If you hate your job and are miserable here then LEAVE. Also, their prices aren't what they say online, and will change the price right when you are about to pay. It's to bad that they're the provider to many law enforcement & security companies. I've been a customer of Metro Uniform since 2002, and they've always handled things very professionally and in a timely manner. Today, I needed a rush job on a new uniform. Two days max with the works! Embroidery, patches, and full pant tailoring. Rosa was uncertain if it could be done, but she said they would do their best. Guess what.. Dealing with Metro was a total disaster for me. Some of the associates are helpful and courteous, others not so much. Was told a few times that they would call when ready, but they must not be able to place outgoing phone calls. I've had to make a few separate trips due to lack of preparedness on their part. I went to Metro to try to purchase some uniforms about a month ago. I forgot to bring my state ID with me so the young African American female employee at the counter ridiculed me and laughed in my face at every attempt I tried to make to prove my state service. She told me that the computer stated I didn't graduate the academy for another two years and looked at me as if I was a liar. That makes no sense because I have been working for my department for years now and have purchased items from Metro in the past. I told her that I had spent hundreds of dollars here before and she told me very condescendingly that the computer showed I had only bought one jumpsuit years ago. I was very polite and don't know why she would try to publicly humiliate me the way she did. At least two other employees witnessed the entire incident and said nothing to correct her. I have never been treated with such disrespect at any other retailer in my life. Many of my co-workers have had less than pleasant experiences while shopping at Metro and as a result, they take their business elsewhere. I suppose the owner is not concerned with their profit margin and loss of service due to cashier's extremely poor customer service. For the remainder of my career, I will make sure I tell all of my partners of this experience and to take their business elsewhere. read more

Worst customer service ever, it's a family owned business so they think they can be rude to people and get away with it. I called to check on the status of an emt uniform that was ordered 20 days ago and the First Lady I talked to checked for like a second and told us it wasn't ready when we asked for an estimate of time she told us that she "doesn't know and can not help us because she didn't take our order" what?! Like what kind of customer service is that! Go check! Check your system or ask the person who does the embroidery! So she hung up after being rude. We checked our receipt and got the name of our cashier and called back she was a little more helpful but we are going to just drive down and handle his matter.
