She suggests what would look great with you and she's fast!! She will answer any question and teach if want to learn something!!! Kyle as always never fails to do my color to perfection!! The only person I would never go to is Maritza, she once did my eyebrows only Bc Allison was not there and talked badly about her coworkers extremely unprofessional and on top of it all she messed up my eyebrows that too me years to get to perfection that Allison helped me. This review is long over due. I have been a customer for a very long time at Metro Modes. A month ago I had spine surgery and I have many restrictions. One restriction is no bending. I called and asked to speak to Dave. He had a wonderful idea. I came in and Dave colored my hair and I went home and 30 minutes later I rinsed the color out in my shower. Not only is Dave so talented in coloring, he cares about his clients. He made me feel better about myself as I recover from surgery. read more

The salon is right near my house and I never really went in there too much but I know that my friends go there religiously and love it. After getting a bad haircut somewhere I went to Tara for a blowout and I explained what happen with my hair and she did a little fixing up and said come back to me and will fix what happened and she knew exactly the problem. Well I've been going to her ever since and I absolutely love her and she fixed my hair to even better than what I had before the bad haircut. She is such a doll I wouldn't hesitate to use her for hair or make up for any occasion. She has also cut my daughters hair she loves her. I have also gone to Stephanie and Joe as well and they did great for me when Tara was not available. The shampoo people are the best around. It's like a relaxation treatment when you go into that shampoo room. And what I love is they will do a deep conditioner for 15 minutes or longer and they won't charge you any extra money for doing that when a lot of salons charge you $25 for something like that. The girls at the front desk are complete sweethearts. I also like I can make my appointments online. Sometimes with my schedule it's easier to do it that way. read more

This WAS a good salon. I needed to have my hair put up for a wedding. When I called to make an appointment, they told me it was with one stylist. Once I got there at my scheduled time, I was told they didn't even have an appointment for me, and the stylist that I thought I was scheduled with was booked for the day with no room for me. So, they "moved things around" to accommodate me and had another "stylist" do my hair. Turns out, this stylist was a junior stylist and took over 90 minutes to put up my thin hair, because she couldn't open a bobby pin to save her life. Then, as I'm getting ready to pay, the girl behind the desk asks, who I'm taking it was the owner or manager, how much to charge me for my up-do. This guy tells her the price (which was full price) The girl says "but it was ******. Shouldn't it cost..." The guy looks at her sternly and reiterates, gritting his teeth "the price is $**.**!" I was so floored, I just paid & left, especially since now I was running late for the wedding. Needless to say, I'll never use this salon again. read more

I've been getting my highlights done here for years by Joanna, and she is incredible! The other day I went to get my roots touched up by Evan since Joanna is on maternity leave. We talked a bit about what I wanted and that I'm headed off to grad school in a few weeks and won't be home until December. He suggested I get a balayage instead of highlights as it will even out my blonde streaks that have become more prominent over the years, and it will last me a lot longer until I come home again, without the gross look of my dark roots coming in. I honestly haven't even considered balayage but agreed with him because I figured the experts know best. I am SO glad I did. Evan did such an incredible job and I am in love with my new blonde look! It looks so natural and beautiful. He even gave me a blowout and curled it for me since he had a gap before his next client. Tara gave an AMAZING haircut but this review isn't about the actual haircut...I made an appointment three weeks in advance for a 6:00pm haircut. Around 5:00, they called me to ask if they can move my appointment to 6:45. I said okay; I figured I would be done in time for 8:00pm dinner plans. Well, they did not take me back for shampoo until 7:20pm! I did not leave salon until 8:10 and ultimately missed my dinner plans. Completely unacceptable! read more

BEWARE PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU GET YOUR HAIRCUT HERE!!! I have a funky haircut, one side and the back shaved...I go to a barber shop to maintain my shaved side. I get my longer side cut once a year just to shape it. I usually cut my hair myself, but I wanted a specific look and couldn't do it myself. I originally went to the hair salon I've been going to since I was 12,and she butchered my hair! My birthday was in 2 days, so I went into complete panic mode.I just wanted fix my hair because I'm anal about my hair and was impatient...I couldn't just deal with my not so bad haircut.ANYWAY TO THE POINT... My mother's hair stylist has a similar haircut to mine and referred me to this Metro modes. I immediately called to schedule an appointment and the bubbly receptionist advised that KELLY was excellent and would fix my hair no problem. I went and was greeted by a friendly receptionist the place was run down in some areas the bathroom ceiling looked like it was going to collapse and the entire space needed to be renovated and to be polished up a bit,but besides that the salon was decent looking. Kelly greeted me and seemed kind of slow, she has ugly hair that looked like a kindergarden student threw 4 different hair dyes in her hair, it was horrid looking (which should have been a red flag) she was sloppy looking,had unflattering clothes on and honestly looked like she rolled out of bed...but still I trusted that she would do a good job especially since the haircut started at 52$ not including a blow out which I didn't need. I explained in detail exactly what I wanted and EMPHASIZED that I WANTED TO KEEP MY HAIR LONG ENOUGH TO PUSH BEHIND MY EARS AND TO BE ABLE TO FLAT IRON AND CURL MY HAIR. I explained I didn't mind if she cut it short as long as it wasn't too short where I couldn't manage my own hair. This woman started cutting away and doing I dont know what, but wasn't doing quite what I wanted...so I tried to guide her so I could have a beautiful or acceptable result. She kept cutting away and I noticed my hair was all gone! My hair was up to my neck when I arrived,now it was above my eyebrow and my bangs were past my eyes and I have before pictures to prove it! I told her she cut it too short and Kelly has the audacity to give ME an attitude while I was explaining to her that she didn't listen to what I wanted. She rudely suggested to have someone else help me and tried to tell me she didn't touch my bangs when she clearly did!! They were past my eyes now they were above my eyebrows!!! Now I'm teary eyed and trying to keep my composure and the owner walks up me with an attitude and tried to tell me she heard me telling Kelly what I wanted and tried to defend her incompetent employee. I calmly advised her that all I wanted was to have my hair LONG ENOUGH TO PUSH BEHIND MY EARS AND TO BE ABLE TO FLAT IRON AND CURL MY HAIR. Her attitude changed(especially once she saw how much I was crying, I know I'm so pathetic)and she apologized and said I wouldn't be charged and that she was sorry and if I chose to come back they could fix it once it grew a bit, since my hair was so short. I was hysterical because now my birthday is Tomorrow and I have this horrible haircut. Thankfully, my barber is amazing at what he does and he fixed my hair and made it lay nicer and evened it out all for 10$! DONT EVER GO TO METRO MODES! They have horrible customer service,Kelly treated me horribly after she ruined my hair,instead of humbly apologizing and telling me that she might have misunderstood me when I explained what I wanted. I've been going to this place for a year or two now. I'm a loyal client of Sebastian's. I've been very happy coming to this salon. I always get great customer service. The receptionists are always very smiley and helpful, all the assistants are great and give an awesome shampoo, and Seb himself is amazing. I have hair for DAYS and he always gets my layers right, I never walk out of there feeling like he chopped my hair to death. He keeps my hair very healthy and I'm so grateful to him. He also always has funny stories to tell so that just adds to the experience. In my opinion this is a great salon! More people should go. Only thing I'll say, and this is to the owners: your salon needs a little love. You have some amazingly talented stylists but the salon itself is out of date. Give it a paint job and throw down some nice new floors, I promise you your customers will love it, and your staff will appreciate working in a beautiful salon they can be proud of! It's so hard to find a good hairdresser that is not only talented, but really cares about her client. A friend referred me to Kelly, and I am so grateful for her. She is amazing! I had recently destroyed my hair by trying to color it myself. My hair is long and now it was all dried out and totally frizzed. A mess. I tried all kinds of expensive conditioners with no luck. I had an awards dinner to attend for my company in which I had to give a speech in front of about 300 people.. I knew there were going to be lots of pictures and I was dying. Kelly looked at my hair and suggested a conditioning treatment. I agreed not expecting too much since I thought I had already tried the best. She was so extremely sweet and expressed not only interest in my hair, but was so friendly and I swear she was more excited about my event than I think I was at the time. As she was blowing my hair out we chatted and she had so many ideas. I finally told her to do what she though would look best with my damaged hair. Well, I couldn't believe how beautiful it looked when she was done. It was shiny and smooth and just looked amazing. I even smiled at myself in the mirror. Not only did she take the time to "fix' my hair, the blow out and curls she put in it were just unbelievable. She was so kind and made me feel so comfortable. By the time she was done with me, between the beautiful job she did, and the caring conversation, I was actually excited about my event. She really boosted my confidence. I have to say I got more compliments on my hair that night than I did when I got married. I regret not meeting her before my wedding. I highly recommend Kelly, she is absolutely amazing.
