This company does not respond or at least the representative for this company who manages my community. Today, residents were awaken by tow trucks blaring horns! Then I see residents cars being towed! The company contracted to do our re-pavement were there to do our grounds, the problem is, we were never notified by Metropolis!!!! Despite my continuous calls to Thomas of Metropolis for information the week prior. Thomas, our representative, has never responded to my inquiries about the re-pavement schedule. As a result, several cars were towed at seeming the expense of the owner!!! I beg to differ because I called 3 times on Wednesday, Oct. 10th the original date the pavement was to be laid. I called again on Friday, Oct. 12th to find out the new schedule. No return call. I called again today, Oct. 17th to find out why we were not notified. No return call. I appreciate having my grass cut often, but what is being cut when you have no grass and it has just been rocks for over 14 years. One morning, the landscapers were performing maintenance of our lawns and I heard a loud noise. I went to open my front door and all this shattered glass just fell inside the house from the security door because of the gravity or force from opening the front door. If you've seen security doors, you know that the glass can be touched from the outside or inside, especially an object flying at high speed from landscaping tools. All of this happened within approximately one hour 20 minutes of me going out the unbroken door initially at around 9:30am. By 10:40 am, after hearing a loud bang, my security door is shattered with a hole in the middle. Landscaping was the only high impact activity going on that morning but the Board stated that they didn't do it. The neighborhood is pretty quiet during these hours, and the only people out are walking their dogs. I have to fix my door and hope they don't break anything again because I have heard pings off of my windows and house during landscaping activities. Please note...this company has more than one profile on Yelp and they all reflect POOR ratings! I lived in Park Place Condominiums for approx 7 years. The last year was the worst. I found out my landlord was illegally renting the unit...and I experienced firsthand the result of a corrupt condo association board and piss poor management company. Long story short -- the row of condos I lived in was mouse and rat infested. Stray cats roamed the property and picked through the trash on trash days..and crows, too, made a regular appearance to rummage through the litter. Calling this company, emailing the pictures... all went disregarded because a board member named Kelly was abusing her authority, bullying tenants, and lying about encounters. I had to call the city to send out pest control and they found so many violations that exacerbated the rodent issue, they recommended I move immediately. (Note: And it was at this time I found out my unit had never been inspected and approved for rental.) I communicated with legitimate reason the hazardous issues circumstances encountered at Park Place under the management of Metropolis and Benjamin C., the "community counselor" did nothing. He is the epitome of BAD MANAGEMENT. If you see ONE STAR for this company -- it is correct. They do the bare minimum. Check their many profiles on YELP! I've not seen one FIVE STAR review. Also note: "As of today, 23 Oct 2017, the following is true -- Metropolis is a company that supports disregard for tenant safety concerns. So last week I came home around 5p to my immediate front door being a work zone. I'd not received one call or notice to explain what was going on. Imagine coming home to plywood on the ground and orange construction cone; and the next day when the wood is removed, a huge hole. No tape, no warning indicator, just five men in front of your unit and hole in front of your doorstep. When I called/emailed the management -- my messages went ignored and after four attempts, I just got the community counselor on the phone today and he had noise in the background, gave little acknowledgment of poor handling/wrongdoing, and seemed overall unconcerned with my safety concerns. How dare any of think it's okay to disrupt your quality of life and not so much as offer a reason. I had to speak to the plumbing crew to be informed of the activity and how long it would take place. Again, I had no clue this company was going to be on my property, let alone directly in front of the door. Not even the POSSIBILITY was communicated to me. My unit was the ONLY unit impacted and I was the only one in the dark. And all I got was a nasty apology from a board member named Kelly, who then fed false information of my concern to the management company; to which I assume is why he (Ben C.) then blew me off, though his staff assured over and over he'd call me back each day of the previous attempts to contact. Quick apologies without listening to the issue. Dismissive tones and body language. No respect. Whether the person owns or rents at a community, you should receive prompt courtesy and respect from the people managing the community affairs, especially when your concerns express impact to your safety and quality of life. Had I fallen down the unmarked hole, then what? Then later that day I had wet concrete in front of the door with a 24 hr dry time. Guess who notified me of that? Not the management company. The PLUMBERS left a note because I spoke to them early to get briefed on what the heck was going on! They were the ONLY apologetic party involved and said they thought I knew this was happening. Ugh...such a mess. Funny, Metropolis leaves a dozen of notices about parking and pool passes, but a 3.5ft hole in the ground of your doorway -- not important. They have an automated system for owner complaints/communications which I found difficult and cumbersome to use. Because of the difficulty, I communicated through email. Now two years later, we are again searching for yet another management company. In the two years of being with Metropolis, we have had 3 property managers. The last two managers quit and the Board had to hear about it through other means, the company never informed us. Although there were verbal and written complaints about their practice of not keeping the Board informed or things happening on the property, they continued. Our first insurance claim under Metropolis was a water leak that damaged 2 units. The insurance company approved the claim and sent the funds to pay the vendors working on the claim. When it came time to pay the first vendor, there was no money because Metropolis had deposited the insurance money into the operating account and proceded to spend it. The board had to tell them to set up an account just for insurance claims. Why should we have to tell them that? There was another insurance claim where 3 units were damaged. Metropolis allowed 2 of the owners to acquire their on repairmen and as far as the Board knows, inspections of the properties were never done. Like most condo associations, we are struggling because not everyone finds it necessary to pay their condo fees. To remedy that, most associations hire an attorney or collection agency. We have an attorney who handles all of our legal matters including collections. From January 2017 until May 2018, Metropolis failed to forward delinquent owners to the attorney's office. However, the attorney continued to send funds collected from prior delinquencies to Metropolis. Metropolis stopped paying the attorney from January 2018 until November 2018 when the board was informed of the non-payment. Our annual meeting is supposed to be in November of each year. While they were reminded of this in what the board thought was ample time, we did not have our annual meeting in 2017. As for our 2018 meeting, after verifying management would be present, management did not show and no one ever provided an explanation for their no-show. This community has an umbrella association. Metropolis was consistently late with that payment until they were told by the board to add this payment to the other monthly bills such as utilities. They withdrew funds from our reserve account and have yet to inform or provide the proper paperwork to the board. They tried this again only this time, they sent an email with figures that didn't add up to their request. Then they sent another email requesting additional funds which still didn't add up to their request. The board responded telling them we would only approve the amount that could be verified and that not one penny could be withdrawn until all of the paperwork had been provided and signed. Two days later it was noted they had withdrawn the amount they wanted on the same day as their email request. The board demanded an immediate return of the funds. The board was told that would not happen again and that protocols would be put in place. For an entity that's been in business for over 25 years, protocols should have already been in place. The community had a county fire inspection in August and there were violations that needed to be addressed. To date, the board is not aware of any corrections being addressed by Metropolis. Now, at the end of their tenure, they have decided to include the board in getting delinquent bills paid. In trying to address the delinquent payables, the board asked for a balance of funds remaining in our account. When a balance is requested, all upcoming payments and uncashed checks should be part of that balance. Not the case with Metropolis. The board was given a figure and proceded to work with that figure. We approved payments only to have Metropolis come back to say two other regular bills had been paid reducing the balance of funds. The property is currently experiencing peeping Karen lurking through windows, breaking in your automobile, stolen package, changing door key access, changing mailboxes keys, to a $750.00 tow bill, if your car doesn't have a permission to park on property. The property management has a false sign that states a camera on property which is a false act to be known as a unsafe property with no property camera managed by the property manager. Metropolis is fully aware of a homeowner video record renters and will harass visitors by lurking through car. Metropolis mission statement says that there mission is to examine each and everyone personal narrative. I assume by placing a smoke receptacle at every entrance is assuming everyone smokes on the property according to Metropolis false mission statement. Renters complaints are not taken respectfully nor resolved respectfully during this pandemic. I don't write reviews, but unfortunately I have to share my horror story with Metropolis. I have a condo unit in Leesburg, which Metropolis began managing in 2018. At the beginning of the year some water was coming through my first floor outdoor balcony ceiling. Likely a gutter or something wrong with the 2nd floor deck water proofing. I'm writing you now 5 full months later, with zero, zip, nada aka no progress at all. I've had and RFA from Metropolis since 1/6/19, but it's been a disaster. Zero communication, they say someone is going to come by and fix the leak and repair damaged ceiling, but nothing gets done. I'm already on my 2nd contact from the management company, and have even copied Martin Lobb, President of Metropolis without response/action. If this is how they "manage" assets, I'd strongly suggest using someone else. read more

I purchased a property in Carroll crest, I was told by my real estate agent my HOA bill was paid for 2020. After review, I was responsible for them. However, 8 months has passed without a 1 notification. I lived there for 4 months renovating, nothing, then a bill from an attorney. I offered to pay my bill if they would waive the 400+late fees. Then I got it's illegal to share info...please please please do not travel this road with them. I'm stuck because i like the house...I have no idea why the HOA uses this company but I requested a phone call and got emails. Marty shows an interest in each property seldom seen. In many cases, Upper management of these organizations do not get Involved with each and every issue the way that Marty has repeatedly shown he will. It is extremely refreshing to see a property Management company such as Metropolis take ownership of their role in the communities they serve in such a way. I assure all that take time to read this...it is not the norm. Metropolis is only about taking homeowners money. For over a year and a half, Metropolis hasn't produced financials, fixed issues, conducted a Reserve study, etc. for my condo association. We have no clue where our money has gone. Representatives from their company can't and will not do their job. The CEO doesn't care because he is collecting our money. I will not be surprised if they end up on the show American Greed. For those who have rated Metropolis a 5, 4, or even a 3, you must work there or know someone who does. They are not even a 1, but I had to give them a rating. If you know what is best for you, you will not, and I repeat will not do business with Metropolis. read more

There main number 301-779-1800 seems to be a vacant number because no one ever picks up and there is not even a way to leave a message. There fast track service is also a joke. If you are part of a community that is considering switching management companies and thinking of using Metropolis, take my advice and run the other direction as fast as you can!!! I own a condo that Metropolis is the management company for. On 8/6 I found a leak coming thru the ceiling of my laundry room from the neighbor's who live above me. Turns out the plumbers who were dispatched founded that the neighbors had a loose nozzle coming from the washing machine which was the cause of the leak. The plumbers tightened up the connection but mentioned that they found mold in the neighbor's unit that they had to cut out. Upon further inspection of my laundry space I also found black mold that was a result of the leak. I contacted my personal HOA insurance company and was told to start a claim. My insurance adjuster asked me to contact Metropolis and request the following documents be sent to her from Metropolis: *Association's Master Insurance Policy Declarations Page including the policy's deductible *Association Bylaws *Association Declaration of Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions I e-mailed Metropolis and received a response from Stephanie Mendenhall. She provided only the bylaws and ignored the request for the other 2 documents. In her e-mail she stated that "Typically in instances such as this the first $5,000 of any loss is borne by the causal homeowner; after that figure, the Association becomes primary - so we need to know what the damages are." When I e-mailed back thanking her for the copy of the bylaws but again inquiring about the other 2 documents she replied "Please have them reach out directly to me for that information if you'd be so kind." I then contacted my adjuster and relayed the message that Stephanie asked that she request the 2 remaining documents herself which during the last 3 weeks she has multiple times called leaving messages as well as e-mailed asking for Stephanie to forward the 2 documents. As of today (8/28) Stephanie Mendenhall continues to ignore requests from both myself and my insurance adjuster for these documents which I as a homeowner whose monthly HOA payments contributes to paying for the HOA insurance policy has a right to see. In the meantime I have had to have a mold remediation company out to remove the mold. This entailed having my washer & dryer removed from the laundry room to my family room where they have been sitting for the last 2 weeks. My cats and I were relegated to living in my bedroom while the mold remediation was going on. Loud fans & a dehumidifier were left running in my condo for almost a week as the company attempted to dry out the area affected. The drywall used is my laundry room was torn out, half the wall in my master bath which backs to the laundry room was cut out, the carpet in the bathroom was pulled back and the laundry room was sealed off with plastic from ceiling to floor while they did this for 4-5 days. Now because Metropolis is dragging their feet this is where the issue currently stands. I have been forced to make numerous calls and either missed work or had to make arrangements with my job to be home when these work crews arrive and to get estimates for repairs. And none of this was any of my fault. I had nothing to do with this leak. I was simply affected because I live below where it originated. To say Metropolis is horrible would be an understatement. After hitting a cement wall trying to go thru Stephanie, I reached out to Martin J Lobb, (mjlobb@wearemetroplis.com) the president for Metropolis. He responded back within 2 days after e-mailing him and sounded sincere when he apologized for the problems I was having. He told me "Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know of your frustration regarding the water leak issue. I will be calling a special meeting to discuss all of the applicable components and coordinating efforts to determine reasonable and timely next steps. I have assigned Ashby, who is is our Customer Care Coordinator to reach out and contact you. You will find Ashby to be quite charming and will be working closely with you as we are unravel this conundrum. Unfortunately, situations such is this become rather complicated and I believe we need to assign one point of contact as we move forward. Please accept my apologies for the frustration that you are experiencing, and thank you for bringing this to my attention." That e-mail came from him on 8/22 and I have not heard from Mr. Lobb since then and Ashby has never reached out. The shame of this is my HOA decided to start using this company less than 6 months ago. Maybe the old mgmt company was raising their prices? I'm really not sure why they decided to switch but based on the overwhelming number of poor reviews and disgruntled posts they have online against them I would be very curious which HOA board member wants to take responsibility for finding these losers?! I have had nothing but less than stellar experiences working with this property management company. I live in a condo community in Leesburg and our community manager is completely useless (to say the least). I sent in my parking pass application when I moved in in April 2019 - never received it. This, I semi-forgive as they claim they're looking for a new tow company and will let us know at a meeting when that will happen and will issue new parking passes then. I sent in my application for pool passes on May 24th - I have YET to receive them as of today and the summer is mostly over (Thanks Metropolis!!!). I asked for them to repair my mailbox (which is now broken AGAIN) and was initially told I HAD TO REPAIR IT AND PAY IT MYSELF!! After discussions - the community manager finally agreed to have it done since it's a common area item and NOT at the responsibility of the home owner. That should never have happened - the community manager should have just taken care of the issue without discussion. This management company is hilarious, unprofessional, and has a complete disregard for the people who live in the communities they serve. read more

I am an owner of a condo managed by Metropolis. I have a tenant in a first level unit that reported a water leak from her bathroom. The water leak continued and the ceiling caved in. Management did not respond until after the Fire Department came out. The manager was quite rude to my renter and to me. He explained that we were responsible for calling the fire department and that the unit owner above us was responsible for calling a plumber. The responsible unit owner refused to call a plumber and although the water was coming from the unit above and potentially the common pipes between the units, the manager refused and started citing the bylaws incorrectly. To mitigate the loss occurring to my unit and out of desperation, I called a plumber and agreed to pay to have the toilet repaired in the above unit. The plumber came out 2 days later (as they have been busy with the unprecedented cold weather) meanwhile water continues to spew from the gaping hole in my ceiling. The plumber was very professional and said that he needed to shut of the water supply to the building in order to make the costly repairs. The building manager refused, unprofessionally citing fights that would break out if he turned of the water without notice. A major water leak over electrical elements and the potential of the entire ceiling coming down did not seem to constitute and emergency for which the DC condominium Act would give him the authority to do just that. The plumber wrote up a report citing the work needed to be performed immediately. As I write this, water continues to leak and manager says he will coordinate plumber and insurance adjusters to meet on Monday. I feel like I am in a nightmare. As this matter is unresolved, I can only hope that someone from the company realizes the jeopardy these bad decisions have placed the community in and that they act immediately. read more

Terrible management company. I really wish I could have given them a 0. I reserved a community room for my wife's baby shower months in advance. They cancelled the reservation without explanation 1 week before the baby shower. Mind you I had friends and family traveling in as far Texas who had already bough tickets. Metropolis didn't even care. The VP Smita didn't even respond to my e-mail until weeks after. I recently had another issue and tried calling her. Smita and her team of gate keepers lied that she was not available. Don't even call asking to speak to management (Martin, Smita) you will never get them. It's truly a disgrace they use their staff as human shields. I eventually spoke to my community rep (Genevieve) who was extremely rude. She even gave me the wrong e-mail information to send her my request. Still no response from them. This company is run so terribly and unprofessionally. I lived in my townhouse for 2 years before I even found out that I owed money to an HOA. I never received any bill, I assumed it was paid with my mortgage. I was notified by a lawyer that I was delinquent. I paid the bill in full, plus legal fees. That was in March 2017. I had a friend's car towed from a visitor's space recently (July). Apparently we are supposed to have parking passes too?! Even for visitors spaces?!?!? So now we are out $160. I had to hunt down Metropolis' phone number and attempted to find out when my next assessment is due and how much (still have yet to receive a bill) and inquire about parking passes. I was told that my account is in collections and they cannot talk to me at all. So I call the lawyer's office that I paid back in march. They have my account paid in full and had notified Metropolis back in March. They resent a letter to them and cc'd me in it. I waited a week and called Metropolis back. I am STILL told that they cannot talk to me because my account is in collections. I am currently waiting for a call back from someone who MIGHT be able to help me. This is a nightmare. I interviewed Metropolis with other board members over a two month period. During this time many promises were made by the Metropolis principal regarding their service levels including accounting support and property management. During the critical transition period between management companies their designated property manager who was pushed on the board by the principal, Martin's, strong recommendation was absent for eight weeks which began immediately after the contract was signed. Then when the board attempted to contact the Metropolis accounting contact whose name I was provided during the period prior to the contract being signed was told that board members cannot contact accounting directly which was not good news as we wanted to discuss mapping in our GL accounts, promised reports, and errors in billing none of which were able to do. We were also told that the Metropolis A/P and A/R person could not be contacted by clients. I would add that during this time the property manager was absent due to a family illness which she did not report to the board. The absence of the property manager was also not reported to the Board by Metropolis who appeared to act like that maybe the board would not notice that she was gone. When asked about not being able to contact the PM at all for two weeks, Metropolis first tried to deny that the PM was absent, and then finally admitted that the PM had been absent, but offered no apologies or adjustments until demanded to do so. Then there were the realities of the Metropolis RFA system which means 'request for action.' This system is supposedly meant to track all issues and insure quick responses. First, I learned that the person who logs the RFA's cannot be contacted by phone which is also against the rules which had not been disclosed to the board. This person is a not particularly knowledgeable, and would often allow important emails to pass through without response or acknowledgement and without forwarding to the property manager who Metropolis calls the Community Counselor. The result of all this is that many important emails would be left unanswered and since the RFA administrator cannot be contacted by phone one cannot never find out the reason why so many issues are never followed up on. Moreover, the property manager is not given their own email account by Metropolis and their email is essentially the same as that for the RFA system which means that in many cases the property manager never sees the emails which are directed to them for action and follow up. What happened next was that the board pressed Metropolis to perform in areas where they were deficient including where promises and assurance of performance had been made including the accounting function and property management. Metropolis responded by trying to 'game' the board so as to secure a board that would be more favorable to their interests or would allow them to continue in the contract regardless of performance and would not uphold our bylaw requirement that the management company be held to a performance standard. Furthermore, the property manager's cell phone would often not be within the coverage area and text messages would not be responded to or responded to inappropriately and often just ignored which would go on for weeks. Finally, I would urge prospective clients to wary of the principal Martin's very skilled attempts at social engineering which I would define as seeming concerted efforts to befriend you and flatter you which will last at least until the day the contract is signed, but may continue for a longer period if deemed to be of benefit to Metropolis, but it would be a serious mistake to interpret this 'friendship' as genuine and is designed to get the client to accept whatever Metropolis is willing to do (work) regardless of what was agreed upon while holding them accountable for nothing. I found that this 'friendship' will and must quickly sour unless one is willing to completely ignore one's fiduciary duties as a board member and essentially let Metropolis 'pretend to be performing their duties' for the association while being allowed to continue to take their full 'management' fee. This relationship works for Metropolis, but it does not work as well for an association's board whose property does not receive the services it both sorely needs and were promised/contracted to receive. read more

For a quick summary about our problem: We moved into a townhouse in Alexandria, VA on August 1, 2018. We were given 2017 Visitor Passes for parking and no parking decals. We never heard from Metropolis about it for over 2 weeks, so we called them on August 17th about it and was sent the paperwork via email that we needed to fill out for it. We sent in the completed paperwork on August 20th. Didn't get the decals or visitor passes by September 4th, so emailed them back. Michelle Roberts, who we talked to on the phone, told us on September 5th that she didn't know we needed parking decals or 2018 Visitor Passes (?!?), and that she was sending it out then. By September 13th we still had not received them, so I sent another email checking in. On September 17th I finally received an email back asking for our address (!?!) and that they would be sent out the next day. That was the last I ever heard from them. I have sent them 3 emails since then with no response and no parking decals or 2018 Visitor Passes. read more

Metropolis maintained extremely poor financials for our HOA. We spoke to auditors who did not want to work with them because of this poor record keeping. We even had supporting documentation that went missing under their watch and therefore audits could not be conducted. read more

I have been waiting for approximately one (1) month to have the cracks in my patio repaired ("located in the "common area"). I have sent numerous emails and calls to Calvin, Ben Colbert, Michelle Roberts and the "site manager". I am continuing to wait to hear from someone, in charge. read more

I have lived at my current address for 24 years..I have paid my condo fees faithfully by mail....Oct 5th I mailed my check to Atlantic Ga.....I received a statement of unpaid Oct fee plus late fee. I immediately wrote a ckeck for Oct. and Nov. plus late fee and sent it by Certified Mail....It was delivered at 11/9 2016 Atlanta Ga to Harris Bank at 625 am scanned by Rte 12044142.....my bank in Alexandria Va never received it...I cannot get any one at Metropolis to answer my calls..They have been our property managers for 3 years and I have never had my calls answered....at one time I called 13 time for a broken gate over 2 week period...my neighbor finally had pity on me and he fixed the problem..... My husband and I bought a townhouse in Virginia in that was managed by Metropolis. Upon moving in we were told we needed parking stickers to park in our spot and in the meantime while we waited for them to come in that we should Park in the visitor parking space. Well the second week of living there our car got towed from the parking space because it said I didn't have the decal hanging from the mirror. Mind you no one ever told me I needed a hanging pass to park in the visitor parking space. After going back and forth with them to get a refund for my Towing fee which total to $235 they agreed to give me the refund. That was May 21st 2016 today it is July 1st 2016 and I have yet received anything in the mail. I have called and emailed constantly and even spoke to a representative named Michelle who told me twice that my check was sent out 2X and I should have received it. I feel like they are just going in circles so then they don't have to pay for it. I have all the emails which states that it was going to be paid back to me. At this point I am just so frustrated and done with this company knowing that our house belong to their HOA I would have never purchased this home. read more

If I could give this company a minus score I would. I have been living in a condo in Fairfax City for almost 3 years & decided to sell this winter. Mind you I have never been late with my condo fee & usually pay 3 months in advance. I have never made any request from the company until this year. On 3/16/16 I started a series of calls & emails to them. All I needed was a letter on their letterhead noting that I was not responsible for any repairs for the outside of the building. Well it is now 4/6/16 & I have received a partial letter. I have always been patient, polite & professional. My patience is running thin because I don't see why it is taking so long for something that should take 3 business days at the most. If you type in the company name there is a list of complaints for years. Towards the end there is a note from the owner providing an email for complaints that I guess he will personally address. If I don't get the letter by tomorrow, I will have no choice but to write to him. Not sure why they were chosen two years ago to represent our condos. I'm just glad I'm moving. Now if I could only get that letter. read more

Metropolis is an absolutely terrible company filled with rude and highly incompetent employees. The communication with Metropolis is painful, very time consuming and stressful. About three weeks ago the property manager called me and said that there was a water leak reported from the unit below me. I was asked to check my bathroom where I found no traces of water or signs of a leak. I spoke to the neighbor from downstairs to find more details. She said that the water was occasionally dripping from the vent above the toilet. Next day I took time off to meet with a contractor sent by Metropolis. This was Jeff from Hammerheads who just looked around and said that everything was all right. He recommended the person downstairs to use the fan after taking a shower to reduce the amount of moisture in her bathroom. About two weeks later I got an urgent call from a Stephanie who said that another leak was reported from the unit below mine. It took forever to get in touch with people at Metropolis because no one was aware of this complaimt and Stephanie was working remotely so no one in the local office knew her. I spoke to the contractor from Hammerheads but he was not able to provide any new information, promised to visit the site again but never did. On September 12th while I was using the bathtub the contractor called me and said there was a leak downstairs. He asked me not to use the bathtunb until he can come and take another look. I spent the entire day on 13th trying to find out what was gong on and what actions need to be taken. Ultimately, I was told to speak to Neena. She was not available and her voice mail box was full. In the end of the day I was told to stay home on September 14th and wait for a plumber sent by Metropolis. In the morning the plumber came and told me that the day before the man from Hammerheads alreay broke the ceiling to check the pipes but still could not figure out what was wrong. The plumber also said that the whole issue was caused by a gasket that went bad and there was no need to break the ceiling since the problem had nothing to do with pipes. A few hours later Neena called me and said that I was liable for all the damages and repairs. When I asked her to describe the damages and why Metropolis did not send a plumber earlier but a person who had no plumbing experience, and what was the warranty that the isssue is finally resolved because the plumber never introduced himself an disappeared without performing a final test, this woman said that I was too argumentative and hung up on me. The gasket cost $ 3.00 and it took the plumber 5 minutes to replace it. Hammerheads wanted to charge me over $ 2000.00 for Jeff's stupidity !!! On top of it when I filed a claim with my insurance company, Metropolis threatened me with a lawyer but I ignored official letters and multiple calls from my claim adjuster. I cannot believe that I am paying a condo fee to get treated in such a rude and unprofessional way. Metopolis should have told me to get my own plumber and get the issue resolved. Instead they created a mess and want to make me pay for it. I got am impression that Metropolis and Hammerheads are doing some shady business and it was it was the HOA president who created this situation. She seems to promote and favor certain businesses. It would be very interesting to investigate for what reason. read more

Our homeowners association just switched to Metropolis. The last time we switched management companies, Metropolis had been number 2 in our selection process, but after having gone with a larger management company and having just finished a terrible experience with them, we re-interviewed management companies and decided to go with Metropolis. We are now 3 months into our transition. As Treasurer, it was very important to me to find someone in the management company would could understand the numbers in the financial report, and figure out how to talk to me about these numbers. Metropolis does this very well. In addition, Metropolis is able to work with the board of directors to set up the processes within our community that we want to see. We have always liked their ticket management system that does a wonderful job of documenting what has happened with each issue within our community and making it easy for many people within Metropolis to provide service on the same issue. This is especially important when we as a board need to talk to management about how an issue has been handled. The fact that the conversation can turn to what process do we need to prevent a new kind of problem from occurring again is just wonderful. read more
