We rented a unit in Parkfairfax managed by this property management company and their "property…read moremanagement" was a disaster. I experienced constant flooding and sewage leaking from the kitchen sinks (yep, 2 sinks), giant sized insects invading our space, decaying floor boards from water damage, 3 years of uninterrupted mold and mildew, the need for a dehumidifier requiring 4 buckets of water to be dumped daily, and the last stray was a bathroom ceiling leaks flooding the unit requiring a 1 month stay in the hotel paid for by my insurance and I still had to pay the rent for my unit. During those 3 years, I suffered terribly from respiratory problems for the first time in my life. No empathy shown by the leasing agent or landlord for the major and myriad inconveniences. Upon returning to the unit in addition to the floor repairs they used substandard contractors to paint the walls. During my stay at the hotel (on my insurance's dime, mind you despite paying the full month's rent DURING it's renovation) I was not notified that the walls would be painted until AFTER the work was done, nor was my artwork removed from the walls prior to painting. The substandard painters merely painted around my artwork. Essentially their substandard painting contractors sealed the damage free adhesive to the walls with the paint making the artwork impossible to remove without damaging the wall. Moreover, the substandard contractors also painted over the back door sealing it shut. Upon move-out, the property management company wanted to penalize me for the damage caused by their own substandard painters shoddy work, since there're still holding on to my security deposit. Avoid renting through this "property management" company at all costs

His company has found me quality tenants and very responsive when it comes to maintainence, renewal, dealing with HOA and handling tenants. I only have one or two emails exchange with them during annual renewal. I love it that way.

From the initial consultation, we saw that the staff were super unorganized, unresponsive, and consistently made some pretty egregious errors. With this, we lost all trust in this business, and we decided to move on with another reputable company. In addition, our interaction was never personable nor did it tailor to what we were looking for - we felt that The Nellis Group was all about numbers, rather than offering quality service. +disorganized +unresponsive +error-heavy

My fiancé and I chose Nicole Nellis to handle the sale of our homes and the purchase of our new…read moreone, based on his prior positive experience. While the process started smoothly, the service quickly deteriorated into a pattern of unprofessionalism and clear bias. Throughout our interactions, there was a stark and uncomfortable difference in how I was treated compared to my fiancé. While she was consistently sweet to him, her tone with me was frequently short, snapped, and disrespectful. When I asked standard questions about adjusting a listing date or inquiring about looking for termite damage on the new home, she quickly became defensive and aggressive. Beyond the interpersonal issues, her professional follow-through was subpar. She failed to stay up to speed with essential paperwork; for example, a termite inspection on the new home was completed, yet she waited two weeks to casually mention it to my fiancé in a phone call. I was never notified, nor was the inspection report provided to me directly until I asked her for it. Another example was her failure to provide basic guidance on preparing for closing as a first-time seller. I had to proactively reach out to her just a couple of days before closing because she hadn't communicated any next steps, only telling me to leave the keys and show up for the signing. Because of this lack of direction, I went ahead and scheduled the power to be shut off. Instead of taking responsibility for the communication gap, she was annoyed and took a rude tone with my fiancé, questioning why I had done it. Had she provided clear, professional instructions from the start, this situation wouldn't have happened. This 'Jekyll and Hyde' dynamic was incredibly upsetting. It became clear that the respect she afforded my partner was never extended to me, likely due to a personal or racial bias. To be fair, the third-party logistics of the process--specifically the staging and photography were good, and I would give those elements 4-5 stars. However, the realtor herself was incredibly disappointing. I honestly regret that she received the commission and fees from our transactions, as her communication and treatment of me fell incredibly short of professional standards. I wish our business and that money had gone to a realtor who values all their clients equally. Therefore, I would NOT recommend her to anyone.
