Being out of town, I had my wife stop in and ask them what I needed to know, only to find out they could find no record of my visit just the Friday before. Not only that, but they refused to give her any more information, even though I signed a release when I was in the office. I also learned that Dr. Nichols did not call in my prescriptions like she said she was going to, leaving me without crucial medicine. I called one day to set up an appointment and they never returned my call. That in itself wasn't so unusual, but when I called them back the following business day, they said they had been closed the previous day. The voicemail didn't even mention that. Guys, you need to let your patients know if you aren't open on a week day! People probably need something, possibly kind of urgently (fortunately, that wasn't the case for me.) There seem to be some problems with organization there, although the staff is nice. Most troubling and what I see other complaints about, I got my times confused and missed an appointment recently. While they were nice in the office, I got an unpleasantly worded letter that said if I missed three appointments, I wouldn't be welcome back. I know we should respect the doctor and staff's time and I didn't intend to be late, but I HAD JUST HAD A MAJOR SURGERY. I was on pain meds. I kind of had a lot going on. I've never gotten a letter like that from a health care provider, and it was kind of shocking. Who is running this place?? You are dealing with sick people, lots of elderly people, many people who aren't at their physical and mental best. This Draconian policy is bizarre. Why is it ok to not even SAY on your voicemail that you are closed on a Friday but it's ok to dump a patient for missing an appointment? Dr. Schumacher is 5 stars. The staff is 2.5 stars. Whoever is responsible for these policies is square root of a negative number stars. I really miss Dr. Schumacher's old office......

They try to make sure you don't bother them by belittling you by stating you need to take care of things yourself. Sometimes you need their help with insurance! Asking if they had a coupon for a prescription I needed and had been given me the year before, turned into a fiasco! They need to understand that they are not always right, they are not the last word. When I told Dr. Sitzman my issues with his MA, suddenly I cannot get pre approval on prescriptions or leave them messages. So I guess if you have issues, they will boot you! And they can basically screw up your whole medical provisions. Even the Cologuard test that I took (which is covered entirely by insurance) was not issued properly for billing and I received a bill for $681.00. I cannot get my prescriptions that I need without some kind of confusion on their part understanding what I am trying to say. I have already found a new doctor, but cannot see them until January. So until then I am without a provider. I will keep as healthy as I can till then. I am not going to apologize for stating to them how I felt about the staff. I said it nicely and honestly.

I've always been about taking care of me until I didn't. Being my moms caregiver was extremely hard. She passed on July 9, 2025. Prior to that I had my own health issues and always tried to make my appointment but ended up canceling, missing or rescheduling because of my mom. My doctor for some years left and I ended up with a male doctor who I seen once maybe twice and then I get a letter saying I was basically fired and had to find not a new doctor but go to a whole new Ohio Health for care because I missed and canceled to many appointments. Between my health, my moms emergency calls every other day which was 1 hour away, I had to be there for her. Ohio Health Pickerington never asked about me and what I was going through. My original doctor would and even call to check up on me but she left and I had no notice. So the new team didn't know me and instead kicked me out. I'm still with Ohio Health but a different location. I'll soon be able to have my medications renewed. Its been 2 weeks and they gave me a month but during that time my mom passed and I just didn't remember the deadline to make other arrangements for a new doctor and location. I write this because I had no where else to express how hurt I was to be going through dealing with my mom and then being let go from a whole primary care program. This hurts more then my mom passing. Its was so unexpected and I never had the opportunity to talk and get back on track with caring for me. ​I love Ohio Health but try reaching out more to your patients when they are new. She manages my healthcare needs related to several chronic illnesses. She is realistic when prescribing orders & always diligent about utilizing the most cost effective options for her patients. She is always on right on time for my appointments, I NEVER have to wait for her to come into the room! She is well-organized and efficient during your visit. Her attitude is always upbeat & positive. She has a fantastic personality and is so compassionate and patient in her patient interactions. I needed a CT scan done and my doctor sent me to the Eastside Health Center. They called me to set up the appointment and pre-register me. When I got there I was taken in almost immediately to complete the rest of the paperwork and confirm insurance. Please note: Make sure you tell them you want THEM to bill your insurance company or they will bill you and you have to fight with the insurance company to pay it. After I finished with the paperwork side, Lynn walked me through and was with me the rest of the process. She explained everything so thoroughly, brought me the contrast to drink, put the IV in, and administered the test. She was so kind that even thinking about it now is bringing me to tears. She calmed my nerves and made me as comfortable as it could be. If everyone is as nice as Lynn at Ohio Health, I will definitely make it a point to go to their facilities for tests.
