We found this steakhouse through open table. The restaurant is quaint, the food was exceptional, the service was excellent. It so happened that Jarrod, manager sat us at our table. He was engaging, professional and welcoming. Every thing we ordered steak, King Salmon, risotto, lobster Mac and cheese, creamed spinach were delicious as dinner and left overs. Both desserts crème brûlée and chocolate cake were the perfect and paired well with 30 year old tawny port. We travel to Texas quarterly and will definitely make this a stop along the way. For it being my first time at the restaurant, I couldn't have been in better hands with a server other than Jon. Not only was Jon extremely hospitable, he was so knowledgeable over the menu and history of the restaurant and made the experience that much better. He gave great recommendations for each course and drink, and although the food could speak for itself, Jon's service is really what embodied the incredible night. Meh. It was ok. Spinach ravioli was fine. The a5 waygu was almost raw. Dont know how you can ruin a waygu steak, but they did. Asked for medium. But to be fair I don't send food back. I don't trust any kitchen staff to be ok with redoing an order in the middle of a Saturday dinner rush, so I didn't say anything. Cocktails were ok. The creme brûlée was normal run of the mill. None of it was bad, in fact most of it was decently good. The peanut shrimp appetizer was the best thing we had. But for a $250 dinner for 2, SOMETHING about it should have been special. The wait staff was great. The bathrooms were clean. The whole place was nice looking. It was crowded and they kept bringing tables from another room that had no customers dining in it. I have a couple complaints about this restaurant. My waiter told me that you cannot alter a dish I wanted no green peppers in my pasta And he said it was not possible. I ended up ordering the filet Mignon but was surprised to see that the sides cost extra. They did not come with the filet Mignon. I figured if I was paying $50 for filet Mignon it would come with 2 sides. The filet Mignon was amazing I even asked the waiter how they made it. Valentine's Day special 5-course menu. Amazing and obviously meticulously prepared. Service was outstanding, attentive, and professional. Ambiance of this locale is relaxing while upscale. Two staff members helped us get from our car into restaurant. No handicapped accessible places in front or nearby. But they found the ramp around the corner and helped my husband all the way into the restaurant. It was a special meal and very expensive but we both believe it was worth it. My only regret is that I have lactose intolerance and had spoken to a staff member on phone. Even with four tablets and immodium, I still got upset digestion. The food was delicious; I tried to resist, avoided some, but enjoyed the original creations. The dessert "apple" was most unique! read more

Service was just okay, but we all know there is a shortage in the service industry right now so let us give them all a break. First off, this place is adorable. One part of the restaurant is dark and comfy and has that speakeasy vibe for sure. The other part of the restaurant is bright, open, airy and super comfortable. We were seated on the bright side, which for a Sunday brunch was perfect. We were seated in a corner booth area that was made with crushed-like blue velvet seating with fun throw pillows. The TV at the bar appears to only play in black and white so it was weird to watch football that way. At the same time that totally went with the vibe this place has created. Sleek, modern with dark and bright colors that balance the place. The food was fantastic. The pancake board is brilliant. It comes with pancakes and all the fixings you could want: peanut butter, nuttela, chocolate chips, bananas, syrup, fruit, nuts and butter. I could have filled up on that, but I had ordered a belgian waffle with the berry compote. The berries were tart, but gave it a good flavor and made the waffle gooey. If I were ever in Amarillo again, I would definitely re-visit this place. read more

Well what a great surprise! This place is a must visit. We were in town to visit the Paloduro Canyon State Park. It's the weekend after Valentine's and I owe my wife for putting up with me. You need reservations! This place is not large and was packed. We had the crab cakes for an appetizer. They were yummy. I do have to add that I probably had the best old fashioned I have ever had! I had a Cesar Salad, my wife the wedge. She really loved the bacon! My wife went with the fillet and I tried the sea bass. All side are family style and I appreciate they have portion sizes for 2 or 4. My wife said this was the best steak she ever had. Better than Perry's or Ruth Chris. My sea bass was piping hot, yet not over done. It had a lemon crust that made the dish. The wait staff was kind and on point. The food came out quickly, the water glasses were always full, and we were checked upon often enough to ensure we were taken care of. I don't often give out 5 stars. They earned it. read more

Ok, so come here for the food. It's good. We stopped by for brunch on a Sunday and sat on the patio. Weather was perfect so we figured, why not sit outside!? The flies were really bad out there. Our waitress did a good job trying to mitigate it by clearing plates from our table as soon as we were done. I had the waffles with quail. I almost didn't order it because the menu said it came with 2 quail quarters. Two quarters is only half a quail, which would not be very much meat. Luckily I went ahead and ordered it and it was actually 2 halves (one whole quail). It was nicely presented and tasted really good. I finished both the quail and the waffles. I have dined here twice and the menu and service are amazing. The last visit I ordered the charcuterie board and the spaghetti and meatballs. They also have a beautiful cocktail menu. Passing through Amarillo, we found this gem of a steakhouse. The food and service were outstanding. Great crab cakes! Steak was done to perfection. Caesar salad and spinach salad both delicious. Our drinks were well made, and our server provided excellent service, but the food was very underwhelming. For $50+/entrée, I expect the quality to at least match the price, but the flavor and quality of the food were subpar. Stopped by the Metropolitan on Saturday April 5th for dinner and a drink. They were advertising that they would have the Texas Tech/Michigan BB game on the TV. Had some stuffed mushrooms and grilled halibut with a glass of white wine. Was sitting at the bar by myself when a couple sit down next to me. He introduced himself as the owner and when his wife set down he corrected that and said she was the owner. LOL She acknowledged that they were co-owners. Our server, Acadia, was very personable & attentive in checking on our table at the right times. She did a fabulous job for the 7 of us! Every meal I have tried here has been wonderful! The atmosphere is unlike any other restaurant in Amarillo. Today we came for breakfast. The menu is unique, the meal was fresh and cooked perfectly.
