Stopped in for dinner on a road trip and were delighted to find this clean, well-staffed, and welcoming seafood spot tucked into an unassuming shopping center in Amarillo, TX. We ordered the snow crab cluster and Toss-A-Net Drift with Cajun seasoning -- spicier than expected but still flavorful and not overwhelming. Everything was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. Ive been craving crawfish forever. I live im California but took a road trip and this place was on my bucket list. I'm beyond grateful that I stopped here. Got 2 lbs of crawfish the size went above my expectations and the flavor was mind blowing. The catfish were HUGE filets OMG HEAVEN. But the best part was our server JAY WAS THE BEST. He's probably the best server I had in a long time. He was charismatic, the energy he had set our whole experience to top tier. We decided to try out Crackin Crab on Soncy while we were out and about on Saturday. It was a little more expensive than we would normally do for lunch, but not out of line with similar dining. We did The Cast boil: snow crabs, shrimp (1 pound), and scallops with a blend of Crackin sauce and lemon pepper (medium heat). It was great! I could have eaten 20 of those scallops! I went here for Thanksgiving. I'm on a contract and couldn't make it home to see my family. They took wonderful care of me. The food was amazing and Kensi did a great job with recommendations and just chatting with me. I will definitely be back soon. Amazing serving sizes and awesome flavor! Ordered calamari for appetizer - highly recommend that serving as it is light and tasty without being too greasy!!! We moved on to order a pound of crawfish and a "cast" combo of crab legs, shrimp, sausage and scallops....can't forget a potato and a small cob of corn!! Five stars across the board on this one. I didn't even know they were open yet. It was just my luck that after going to Jo-Ann's I decided to drive past and see what their status was. I was shocked to see the open sign so even though I wasn't dressed to go to a restaurant, I couldn't resist going in. There was no wait because they hadn't advertised tonight which turned out to be the first night open, the soft opening night. It was supposed to be family and friends night but they let other people in as long as they had room. My server was Miranda who was excellent. She asked what I wanted to drink and mentioned Pepsi products and then said, or, we have complimentary beer and Micheladas. I latched on that right away and ordered a Michelada and was even given a choice of beer so I got Dos Equis. It was delicious of course. I ordered the Shrimp Basket for my meal, $14.95. it included a choice of sides so I got one potato and one corn. They were very good. The shrimp were excellent, perfect temperature, perfect crispness, wonderful flavor. I enjoyed everything immensely and had no leftovers. Halfway through my meal I got my second Michelada, you could get up to two complimentary drinks. They had hard liquor available but possibly not yet. I was a little unclear on that because it sounded like they were getting their liquor license on Monday. That's pretty fast from what I've heard. I asked my server a couple of questions every time she stopped by and found out that tonight was the first night they were open. I was asking about the per pound market price on a few different items and they all sounded pretty affordable, as low as $12, with the King Crab being the most expensive. The boils had three different items, I believe it was a pound of each for $60 and I assume they were meant to be shared. II know I couldn't eat 3 lb of seafood by myself as much as I love it, lol. You get sides of corn and potato with them also. I definitely want to go back and try the scallops. There were plenty of servers so no staff shortage here and I saw plenty of cooks behind the counter working away at creating all the dishes. I don't think you will be unhappy if you give this place a try. I sure wasn't. The restaurant is in the former Pei Wei location on Soncy I asked my server if the other location was open on Western and I believe she said not yet but she also said that they were totally separate entities, not two branches of the same restaurant. Each one is a separate franchise if I understood her right. She said their location has the full bar but the other location will only have beer and wine available. read more

I've had boils before but one problem I also see is not enough actual flavor, that all changed when I ate at this place, they have a unique style of sauce that packs a punch full of spice and flavor, I will make this a regular stop! Over priced, mediocre service at Soncy location. Scallops ($31/lb) not available even though we were charged for them. Manager substituted the shrimp ($18/lb) when we ordered the Toss a Net "pot" combo with King Crab, scallops and headless shrimp. Unit price was about $60 for the #1 Cast. That has only ONE two-inch piece of corn on the cob, ONE very small potato and ONE piece of sausage that is also about 2.5 inches long. If you are sharing with others then you have to pay extra for additional pieces of corn, potato and sausage. Let me emphasize these are VERY small servings. When I pointed out that the market price of the scallops (which we REALLY wanted) was twice that of the shrimp and suggested to the waiter/mgr that they might consider comping us some corn and potatoes, he got angry and walked off later making a remark that I was upsetting him and being difficult. The crab legs are so small that it's difficult to get any meat out of them and the whole process is extremely messy and difficult so probably not a great place for kids and first dates. The "mild" sauce is spicy enough for most people but I doubt I'll ever go back and I'm sure the irritated impatient waiter will be glad. read more

Do NOT go on Wednesday night at 7:30! There was no warning at the door but it was open mic night and the acts were super vulgar. I'm not a prude but I had my 16 year old daughter with me and the "jokes" were about him hating white women (he was white) and he shined a flashlight at us because we were having our own conversation and trying not to listen to him talking about abortion and sex jokes and getting r*ped saying the f word and the p word multiple times. After 3 minutes I decided to get our order to go as it hadn't come out yet but in the meantime had to sit thru another girl's "jokes" about her husband going down on her and farting on him. To top it off as me and my 16 year old were walking out the girl made fun of us for leaving. The food ended up being really good but the open mic night was ridiculous! Passing through Amarillo a few weeks ago, we tried this small restaurant. Very close to our hotel as well. The food was excellent, as was the only server there that night. I've search sea food places not much luck but stopped by here today with my parents and all I can say the customer service very welcoming wish I caught the gentleman name very polite and professional. A nice place to take the family out. House Oysters is a must try. Snow Crab Boil really good first time here. Where do I start? Visited Thursday March 24th around 6:45pm. They weren't busy. We had five of us. Said they were out of sweet tea? Guess they didn't want to make more. Had to ask twice for my dads Pepsi. Dad ORDERED blue point oysters but were house oysters. We asked to try the Crackin Sauce and after trying, the three of us order our boil with lemon pepper. (States on menu two sauces, cracking sauce and lemon pepper) Husband had two clusters of snow crab in lemon pepper, mom had king crab in lemon pepper And I had shrimp in lemon pepper which I planned on sharing with my 2yr old son. When order came out all of our boils were in crackin sauce. Owner came over to explain the "mix up". Basically they have one sauce not two. They have cracking sauce or cracking sauce with lemon pepper. lemon pepper is not its own sauce (Not stated on menu Nor was that mentioned to us when we requested to try the sauce) Owner went on to say it's a family recipe etc. My son couldnt eat the shrimp because of the spice. My husbands snow crab had hardly any meat. Mom complained about sauce and they remade hers with a butter sauce (wasn't listed on the menu but okay) all of our potatoes were under cooked. The owner literally said put the potato in my hand.... Said she would make a new one. We said no. 10 mins later we were brought another potato after requesting not to be brought one. Heard owner saying comp their meal don't make them pay but when we got our bill nothing was taken off. Our bill was 198.00 and my husband and son left and went to McDonald's while we finished. Server was sweet but poorly trainer. Owner tried to make it right but overall tried too hard and ended up making things worse. I hate leaving bad reviews and never do but this was embarrassing and we won't be back. We will visit Hook N' Reel instead. read more
