Cynthia the manager is poor at customer service. I ordered over $50 of food directly on Sam's website. Delivery driver who is contracted by Sam's brought me a pizza. The delivery driver said he would make it right and went back to the store and said he would come back with the correct order. The gentleman calls me when he was leaving. After 30 minutes goes by and no delivery. I called the gentleman and no answer. So I looked out side and the cats were eating our food. No knock on the door. I called the man again, no answer. I proceeded to call Sam's and spoke to Cynthia the manager and let her know my frustration of two mistakes and she proceeded to tell me not her fault. Let's just say the call didn't go so well after that. Their website, their contractors, their responsibility to make it right, instead of acting like no fault of her own. Used to love this place. The food is good; however, last time we were there we were charged $1.00 for water...really? We were going to give it a go again because of the food. We brought our own bottles of water; however, a big sign on the door stating no outside drinks or cups stopped us. This sort of petty charges, along with petty rules will kill a business in no time. This place was so good I had to go back a 2nd time and share it with someone. When you walk in it looks like a regular restaurant which is fine because the atmosphere wasn't what I was going for. The employees are super friendly and welcoming. The food will blow your mind. I ordered the combination of fried fish and oysters with extra oysters it all came out so tasty and hot. It went straight grom the grease to the container. (The melted top told the story.) Sam's is a great fish place to eat. They have spicy green beans that I can't eat. Every other side is all fried but the Coleslaw, so can't eat those. They up charge for grilled shrimp and fish, sad! We ordered a large order for a group at work and when we picked up the order we were told "don't ever do that again" as rudely as possible!If we put them out for ordering an order they were willing to take in the first place and that should help their business, then shame on them not us. I finally got over here to try the place out. I've been meaning to ever since I heard about it. The girl that helped me was very nice and checked in with me often to see if I needed anything. The shrimp and oysters were both good and the price was reasonable. The beans and rice had a lot of liquid which fortunately I like but some people might not. The hush puppies were pretty good and I'm not a big fan of hush puppies. The green beans were just your basic canned green beans, maybe with a little extra spice added in. The main reason for not giving them more stars is that the table was pretty sticky. There were rings from drink cups that when I rubbed on them with a wet corner of a napkin they came off, which meant that when the table was wiped the person didn't put much pressure. I saw a girl clean another table and she really just gave it a lick and a promise, not a true sanitizing. She left trash under the table and didn't sweep under the table. It wasn't until I got up to leave that I noticed that the floor under and in front of my table was extremely sticky like someone had spilled a drink. And it sat there long enough to dry. That's probably the stickiness that I felt on the table also. When I picked up the ketchup and the saltshaker they were both very tacky and sticky and gummy. Real germ catchers. The employees were wearing masks but not gloves and I didn't see any sign of any hand sanitizer around. There might have been some and I didn't see it but it wasn't noticeable. We went here on a Friday night on a whim.....we've never been here, nor had we heard of this restaurant. We ordered grilled shrimp on one order and fried shrimp on the other. Everything, I mean everything was cooked to perfection! The fries were hot, crisp and not over salted. The hush puppies were golden brown, crisp and seasoned beautifully. The shrimp was flawless! Huge jumbo shrimp battered and fried perfectly. The grilled shrimp was perfect. We rarely have had a meal that was so spot on. We'll be back!!!!! read more

So i go here several times a year and it always has great food. usually the service is ok, never great but not bad at all but last night it was terrible. our family arrived about 5:30 and we were seated immediately. our waiter got our drink order and took off after them. when he returned he took our order and was gone. We sat there and watched 3 other tables get seated and all 3 received there food so we asked our waiter about ours. He told us that he had just turned it in because we had just arrived. I had told him we had been there for 30 mins, but he refused to hear that. When we got our food from another waiter the beans & rice were cold, and the fish orders were missing the fries. He said he would go get it. We finished half our meal before he returned. When i went to pay our $40 bill they did take $3 off of it which is kind of a small amount concidering all the disruptions. We went this evening for our first time. The guy working the drive thru was so friendly and helpful (I didn't catch his name but he was of Asian descent). We ordered a 4 piece catfish plate with hushpuppies/green beans, 1 catfish and 5 shrimp plate with hush puppies/red beans and rice, and a gumbo with the rice and dinner roll. I am super picky about my catfish (I haven't been impressed by any local places since my favorite place closed down). The catfish is just right! Not too dry and not too salty with lots to taste. The tartar sauce has amazing flavor to add to it. Green beans were very flavorful. Red beans and rice won us over! Hush puppies have a mild flavor and were moist. The fried shrimp were huge and tasted delicious! Per the hubby gumbo was so flavorful and packed a good spicy punch. We will most definitely be returning! read more

I ordered the gizzards meal to go. I noticed a mistake as soon as one of the employees was nice enough to bring it to my car. The gizzards must have gone straight from the oil into the paper lined styrofoam container to melt it like it did. I opened it to breathe. The top was melted from the steam and the container warped inward (took pictures). I removed the gizzards as soon as I got home, because they were lying in a pool of oil. I'm going to cool them in the refrigerator and reheat them on a paper towel later to get the grease out. They taste good, but they needed a little more love and patience at the finish line. Best Dang fried fish in the history of fried fish!! I grew up in Oklahoma where there's a buttload of great catfish restaurants but Sam's is head and shoulders above them all. My husband and I have eaten here only once, the food was delicious. Tonight we wanted to return for more. Sign on the door said they were open until 9:00, though most of the chairs were already on the tables for clean up at 8:15.
