I had a great experience with Metro Solar. I'd been struggling to figure out a way to drape/shutter/blind the enormous, street level windows we have in our NYC apartment. I wanted privacy but did not want to sacrifice the light streaming into the apartment. I contacted Metro Solar to discuss the idea of a frost film for the windows. They were so helpful: they had a number of recommendations, visited the apartment to see what might work the best, got an estimate to me very quickly and then scheduled the job on a date that worked for me. They not only did the frost-film with a 3/4" clear frame, but suggested a clear security film (making the windows harder to break) to go under the frost. Ordered window film from this company and the installer was so intent on leaving to beat the traffic back to long island that he did not cover the entire window. The owners promised he would come back. When we removed the blinds there was a large gap at the top of the window. The owner, Dick, came out and said they would fix it after many, many phone calls (2 years went by) but they never showed up. Dale (his wife) refused a monetary adjustment and SCREAMED at us on the phone. These people do not even know the words customer service. Stay far, FAR away. read more

My fiance and I had film installed on our enclosed balcony from them and we are very happy with it. The balcony is all glass so we would basically cook out there before we had it installed and it has made a huge difference! I originally had difficulty scheduling a time for them to come out to install film, but I thought the workers did a professional job- they were polite, cleaned up, and there are no bubbles on our windows. It looks great. In fact, I plan to do more windows with the clear film when we can afford it (it is a little pricey). read more

this company is a scam. I ordered the window film from this company a coupe of years ago. they sent a installer that was totally unqualified and not careful. It moved the ladder recklessly despite being told to be careful a few times. It ended up breaking my Chandelier fixtures. I was fed up with unprofessionalism and reckless, and asked for the damage compensation and full refund. They were being very rude and in total denial of the whole incident. I chose MetroSolar for my new apartment window film installation, because they use 3M product and have done numerous installations in leading NYC museums and galleries.
