    Contacted Smart Tint to convert our existing glass to smart glass on our conference room glass walls, windows and doors. I dealt with Tom Anderson in their sales department who provided excellent customer service. He answered all of my questions, and put me in touch with an Installation team in my area. Our Smart Tint installation came out great, and looks beautiful 4 years later. They manufactured a complete ready to install system, recommended an installer. I would definitely recommend this company and product for your privacy on demand needs. Thank you Smart Tint!

    BEFORE FILM INSTALLATION GLASS IS CLEAR CRYSTAL

    People Listen up: I am a certified tint installer and electrical handyman. i had a customer that paid 7,000 for 3 pieces of film to install in his million dollar home. I worked with many films before. this film is not friendly and is not forgiving you can crease it easily and dust underneath is visible. Installation instructions are not detailed they dont have details that people need. My customer lost every penny and i DO NOT RECOMMEND this film to anyone who is expecting money back or any kind of refund. I called explained the situation that one of the films was not working and 3 pieces were blury not clear they gave me every excuse not to work with me and say its this that.....If you want to save yourself nerves and frustration FLEE this company. I am $7,000 dollars hurt i hope you guys get the idea when you loose this kind of money. They dont have any structure of business and argue for the most issues.

    It is unfortunate that a company is blatantly misleading their potential customers by saying my post was fraudulent and posted by a bot. All SmartTint would have to do is look at their invoices. I have attached a picture of my SmartTints arrival at my home. I paid for 2 shipments since I measured incorrectly the first time. SmartTint or anyone else may contact me at anytime, since I did receive this response. Do you know that when SmartTint stood me up for hours and was a no show, I haven't heard from them? Below is the pic proving that I ordered and received, via shipment, my SmartTint. I am happy that Yelp lets people respond to accusations. I'm not a bot ;)

    $500 goggles arrived with rip in padding.

    ALSO KNOWN AS SMART FILM IN STONY BROOK, NY. I try to be very fair about my reviews. I'm not a hothead. I understand things might go wrong. I used Smart tint to buy custom goggles for $500. The padding on the goggles was ripped, they did not come with the remote control I discussed, instead of a industrial 6 battery pack, it was a cheap 2 battery on a flimsy connection that worked at first and then stopped when the glasses were put in vertical position within 1 minute of using them. After they told me to send the glasses back and I did on my own dime and time, they responded as follows. FROM SMART TINT: Hello David, Do not worry. We stand behind our products. Have a safe and happy 4th. FROM ME: Fair enough, Rob. I just want the unit I expect and I don't mind paying for it. I do plan to order many more if you'll put in the attention to make this right. I'll send it back next week and email you. FROM SMART TINT: The goggles we shipped you worked perfectly and were to spec for what was paid for. We will make you another identical pair and ship out. ME: Please do not redo and reimburse my card. Thank you. SMART TINT: David, It is clear that your custom order was not defective. Custom orders are not refundable. We did offer you a replacement as a courtesy. If you decline the replacement we will simply send you back the existing functioning unit that we did repair. We see now that you were looking to add a remote control feature up an above what you originally ordered. This is not the way to go about getting one. We offer many models and they are all custom.  You received Exactly what you ordered and purchased. The unit is repaired from the mishandling on your end and we covered under warranty. Your welcome FROM ME: Rob, you don't need to be upset. So I'm the one stuck now. I lost money on what I thought I would be getting. So before you send it back out...please tell me how much more I must pay for that, since we can't agree the goggles are advertised as that.

    I had Smart Tint come and install their switchable window tint in my master bath window. They did an amazing job, clean and professional. The tint is an amazing addition to my home. I would recommend them to anyone.

    I am not sure what all the negative reviews are about as I have had a great experience with these guys although I almost did not purchase from them because of all the bad reviews. They took their time walking me through the entire installation process step by step before the film was even cut. You do have to know what you are doing both in proper Low Voltage electrical wiring as well as following their procedures exactly. Once I ordered the film it arrived less than a week later and was packaged extremely professionally. The film was cut to the exact measurements that I requested. My only negative comment is that the LV wires could have been a bit longer but that was a minor nuisance. You have to make sure that no dirt or debris of any kind is on the glass or film before starting and the TAKE YOUR TIME installing the film on the glass slowly working out any air pockets. For installing the film we used 3 people and worked the film per recommendations. I wired this to their exact specifications and the film came out perfectly, you cannot even tell its on the window at all. The provided trim bar hid all of the wires and nothing at all is visible except the glass. I am going to try and post a couple of pics with this review of my project. I am really pleased with how this came out and will follow this review up at year 1 and year 2 to update on how it is holding up.

    We wanted the big window above the tub in the master bathroom to have a cool window tint so that when we soaked we could turn it on and the glass be clear to watch the snow and frosty when we didn't want to see out. Our contractor purchased this tint from Smart tint and put it on the window. The frosty looked great! But when you turned it on to be clear, it wasn't. It was still about 50% when you looked at it straight on and if you were in the tub it looked completely frosted at an angle. Our contractor called the company and they said this was "industry standard". He complained that their website was totally misleading since all the photos and videos showed a clear window when it was on. There was even a bathroom photo implying that it should work as we wanted it too. They would not stand behind their product. Told him to peel it off and sell it to someone else. Wouldn't refund the money either. $1000 down the drain. Run! Don't purchase from them.

    This company is a scam, they will take your cc, not ship the product then refuse to call you back.

    Smart Tint was paid in full, and now they won't answer calls or emails. We've given them thousands of dollars with nothing to show for it.

    Terrible experience. Sent the wrong parts, wrong wiring locations, promised to overnight ship. Then sent standard shipping.

    Just wow! Stay away from this company!!!…read more We scheduled an in home consultation. They sent over a salesperson named Dave. He shows up 30 minutes late. I show him the rooms that we need to hang window treatments in. We start discussing options, colors, and how they were mounted. My wife came into the room and said she wasn't sure she wanted the kindle of blinds that he was proposing for the baby's nursery, and said that she wanted to see an option for rollers. At that point, he said he would be right back. Then I received a text from him where he informed me that he wasn't interested in the job. Then called my wife a bitch. Texts included with this post. If this is the kind of person who this company is going to send to your house, they don't deserve your business. Imagine someone calling you or your wife a bitch because she/you wanted to see a different option. I have no words.

I contacted Dave via text on December 4th, 2024, for a defective blind. I sent him a photo, and he agreed to replace it no problem. At which point, he never mentioned any service fee for the new blind. After not hearing from Dave for over 2 months, I contacted him on February 28th, 2025. I received no response. Finally, on March 27th, he finally replied to my text. He admitted that he forgot to order the replacement blind. Today, he texted me that the blind is in and he can come to install it tomorrow. He further tells me that there is a $75 service fee. When I questioned why he didn't tell me that upfront, he became irate and told me, "People do not work for free," and to lose his number. I have no issue paying a service fee. The problem is his complete lack of respect for a customer's time and his failure to disclose the fee initially. Dave's lack of respect speaks volumes about how much he values his customers.

My…read morewife and I requested two skylight shades to be installed/ordered as this is well out of my scope of handyman expertise. The owner Joy originally sent her son to measure/give a written estimate and we shortly after arranged to drop off a deposit and have items ordered. Late evening the day before our scheduled drop off, we were called stating that they were increasing the price as the son had provided a bad quote. After arriving to the store and questioning this we were also told while they were happy to take the deposit that they were no longer sure they could do the job and would have to send a more senior person back to evaluate. When they came back, almost a week later, the actual installer had to remeasure, as the owner's son had measured improperly as well, but said the job was of course doable. At that time the team seemed apologetic for the inconvenience and told us that if we trusted them they would make it right. As such, we decided as we had already invested the time to give the deposit and we were told they would be ready 4 weeks later for install. 2 weeks after, my wife called for an update and we were informed the shades shipped and due in the next day or two, but that since it was their busy season would not be able to schedule install until several weeks later (~5 week since ordering). 1 week prior to install we get a message saying they have to push back the date of install because the blinds weren't actually in/never even shipped. When talking to her son, he blamed a long term employee that "doesn't know how to use the computer" and when talking to Joy the owner, she states the person who originally told us everything was in while admittedly incompetent had worked their forever and allows it cause she is a loyal person. She then verbally berated me over the phone for making them upset! Do yourself a favor and go to a real store. These folks lie, continually change their story and misled us, particularly after taking our money. This experience has been nothing but a headache and a waste of our time.
