So I went to get service, an oil change at this facility and had a horrible experience. I arrived…read moreat 3:43pm exactly. This is my 2nd oil change that I will be receiving from Mazda. I really needed to use the bathroom and I have been sick with a resp infection, Which I am still battling which resulted in me not having my voice and pain when speaking, so I brought my bf to help me communicate. I am leaving to go use the bathroom and that's when a mechanic wants to get the car keys. My bf tells him we needed an oil change and that I was in the bathroom, the worker was not the one to initiate the convo, nor did he instruct the next steps when I returned, all he asked was, "have you gotten service here before" which I replied yes. It was one time more than 15k miles ago and it was for body work and the sales manager was the one orchestrating and very attentive also another time when there was a recall but nonetheless, instructions given and everything went smoothly. So we go into the building assuming everything is going to be done. Everyone, per usual, keeps there eyes down, and no eye contact, and in their own little worlds, including the workers. The next thing that happens is past 4:30pm, a worker comes up to us and asks are we being serviced, we state yes because that is what we believed, he asks are we waiting for sales we say no we are waiting for an oil change. He shakes his head jokingly and I'm like what happened? And he says you were suppose to speak to the front desk. So from the time we arrived to past 4:30 no one bothered to follow up nor instruct us about this. I've only been for an oil change service 1 time prior, it was at another Mazda branch and usually I am instructed. We walk to the desk and we are told that all the mechanics went home for the day and the desk is closed. This is how customers are treated, ignored, many workers walking back and forth not giving a care in the world no eye contact or sign of respect, ignoring you. I called Mazdas corporate and they were no help at all, stating they can't do anything about it. I Wasted time and gas coming to an appointment I made just to not get the oil change and just sit in their building thinking I'm getting a service I made an appointment for. If I can help it I will not ever go to Mazda for service again. I went to another one which was further and I experienced racism, the first time I got an oil change and that's when I switched to this branch. The only thing I can say is that the sales manager tried to de escalate, but I was so frustrated and felt disrespected I may have acted indifferent to him and I apologize for my behavior however the whole situation was wrong. For the money I pay just for an oil change, literally, I only paid $70, and was waiting less than an hour at an independent owned mechanic my family is very close to that last minute added me into his schedule and guess what? I tipped him $30 and that is still less that what Mazda would have charged me. Also the mechanic showed me that my water reservoir was disconnected & just left on the engine, what if it fell and caused problems while I drove? After seeing that it firmly committed my decision. The mechanic also stated that the people who service cars for dealers are usually students also, I do not know if that is true or not but the way they left my engine (it was so dirty and my car is new only 15k on it, only a second oil change) and the reservoir, it makes me believe he may be right. This was my experience.
