We told Emily that we like to try Italian violins and when we arrived at the store, she had already placed all the relevant violins on a tabletop in a private room for us to start testing. The staff were super helpful and knowledgable, and they assisted us in the entire purchase process. The best thing is that they even allowed us to bring the violin home for a week to test and show our teacher. The best thing is that their website had youtube videos of their violin collection that are for sale. So even before we drove to Glendale, we were able to shortlist the instruments that we like to try. That saved us a lot of time. I also had a chance to meet the owner Tom. Overall, my experience was okay, but a few issues prevented it from being a great one. First, one of the items I ordered was out of stock. While I appreciated being refunded for it, it was disappointing that it was unavailable. Additionally, another item listed as new was actually an open-floor model. I do want to thank Diane for reaching out to inform me about this and offering a discount, though I ultimately chose to decline that item. The rest of my items were processed quickly and arrived promptly. However, I was disappointed with the packaging quality. An expensive music box intended as a gift was shipped without any bubble wrap or protective securing--it was simply placed loose in the box alongside a music stand bag. Everyone especially Julia is so helpful. The work done on my violin is just what was needed to make it sing! I was so happy with the result and it was completed ahead of schedule. Absolutely a 5 star experience from start to finish. From after hours emails to sending me my beautiful new (to me) violin in perfect condition and ready to play. I did everything online, as I live on Maui, so have no local shops. So the process can be daunting. But I felt cared for and secure in my purchase. When I received my violin and gorgeous Pedi case, I was almost in tears the whole thing was so beautiful. It was packed professionally and they added in extras, such as a rosin and a cloth and a luggage tag and Metzler pencil. None of that was necessary. And then the sound! I live in Sacramento CA, and I emailed them asking if they could order a Musafia case for me that I could pay through Affirm, and they were able to honor the request. Emily helped me through the process and kept me updated during the waiting period since Musafia cases can often have month long wait lists. I was looking for original music for a piece my daughter is playing for an upcoming competition, it was literally impossible to find! Come to find that it was also out of print. So, I walked back to the violin place after dropping-off my car. I know nothing about these instruments. However, I can sing... Sometimes scratchy. Sometimes in the shower. Sometimes with the radio. After researching for months and dreaming of the perfect musician chair, I finally succumbed to my purchase of the Adjustrite Musican's/cello chair. They had the stool, regular chair, and tall chair available. They did not have the regular chair in stock when I called in around Christmas. They even had a tall chair used by Yo Yo Ma! The only problem with the chair is how hard it is to find a store that actually carries it. The chair felt amazing even though I sat on it for less than a minute. The availability for customizing the front and back height is a game changer. My back is also well supported! I wish I had the chair for my flute days but now I can use it for playing the harp. Although this is a violin shop, and I am not a violinist, I was very happy to see the variety of music stands and music accessories. It's a great play to visit. read more

Absolutely has the coolest most helpful staff. There are some places, stores and venues where I sometimes feel a tad intimidated due to the nature of such locations, I guess due an awful experience a long time ago from a different store with a less than interested staff when asked for information regarding the instrument, it really put me off and kind of put a stigma in my head that most of these kind of stores have staffers who couldn't even see past their nose - a bunch of snobs. Metzler changed all that for me. The staff here from the get go have been nothing but awesome, they will explain and give you alternatives and options for products that you need, they know their instruments well too or will refer to to someone in the store who could probably explain it to you better if need be. I purchased my first Violin a few hundred years ago (joke) , more or less 12 years ago, the instrument just got better with age, the quality is amazing and sounds rich and just lovey - yes I'm a little biased, once you acquire one of these expensive instruments, they somehow become like your other baby. I highly recommend Metzler if you are interested in getting started in playing a musical instrument, they have a knowledgeable friendly staff, offers lessons for all ages and their outfits are of really great quality. read more
