Unfortunately, I had a popped tire and I had to get my car towed somewhere. I called this tire shop and I asked them specifically if they had one new tire in stock that I was looking for to match my other tires. I was put on hold as the owner looked and he said yes we have the tire. I then confirmed that my car would be towed there. I watched them and noticed that they were trying to put a completely different used tire on my car and trying to charge me $140. I said wait that's not what I asked for. That tire is not new! Wrong brand and used tire two issues there. I asked the owner what was going on and he said I'm sorry I got the two tires confused. I only have this brand which seemed like a lie just to lure me there because he knew that I was in a vulnerable position and could not drive my car anyway due to having a popped tire. He was extremely rude and he said, "well what do you want me to do reinstall the popped tire?" I was completely taken it back by his response. He was so rude and unhelpful. They do bad business here and they hike their prices up if you really need help. It's really sad because you can choose to be a good person and help a person out and be honest, but instead they chose to be dishonest, rude and unhelpful. I had to pay $80 for a messed up used tire in the end that did not match what I was looking for and it was not what I was looking for at all! I left extremely upset. As someone who is from out of state and doesn't have a mechanic in LA I typically just got to the dealership to have my car serviced. However, I caught a flat rushing on my way to work and messed up my rim pretty badly. I was recommended to come here to Mexicali Tires from the staff at Firestone when I realized how much rims costed (lol!!). When I arrived the rep (forgot to ask his name) informed me that he would fix my rim for free and I didn't need a new tire just air! He did an inspection of the car and one of my other tires (not the one I initially went in for) did need to be replaced. So I ended up getting a new tire, a tire rotation and realigned my car all for $60. I tipped $15 on top of the service. (originally I was looking at spending $375+ at firestone) The parking lot is kinda cramped but the staff was very kind and thorough with their work. My tire kept going slowly flat, so I initially went to Pep Boys, but they wouldn't patch it! They said the "nail went in at a weird angle" and wanted me to replace the tire (and all four). Boo. I searched what else was open on a Friday night and Mexicali Tires came up. I called first to make sure they'd take me just 15 min before closing, they said sure and that it would be $20. I pulled up, pointed out the tire, bam, a quick patch for exactly the promised price. There wasn't that much communication, but that can be good and bad- good because they didn't try to upsell me into four tires, bad if you want to be explained to exactly what is happening. If they see that you are desperate, they will charge you an arm and a leg. I had someone slash my tire and they are charging me $80 for a used tire. I go to El Serrano tires usually and they charge me $25 for a used tire sometimes a little bit more I've never paid more than $50 for a used tire $80 the rip off. They are definitely praying on people that really need a new tire for the moment. Not to mention they gave me a shitty tire. read more
