Not my favorite, not the worst. I ordered the Vegetarian D combo, and was brought the wrong thing twice. It was supposed to be a chalupa, enchilada, and chile relleño, I ended up getting a chile relleño and chalupa on the second try. The chile was good and probably my favorite part of the meal. Someone needs to educate the manager on what a real ID looks like. Came in for my friend's 22nd birthday. Claiming it was fake ID because it was vertical and not horizontal and it did not matter if it said "under 21 until-said date-" Again it was his 22nd birthday and went the year prior with no issues. Service during dinner was horrible. Manager told us he didn't want us to leave but yet the waitress couldn't come back to check on us, couldn't refill non-alcoholic drinks or get the proper amount of utensils, we had to ask another server. The owner must be going through menopause even though he is a man. Not only is he rude but he's downright nasty to customers. Several people have told me they have walked out because of his manners. The food at his downtown restaurant under another name was excellent and so was Mexico lindo when it started. The quality has gone down quite a bit. If you order takeout the order as usually wrong. So I walked in this evening to try out the tacos and a burrito. Need to say that they are so delicious. The taste and authenticity is spot on. I had the Bravo burrito de carnitas. Wow! I love it. I also had the taco dinner. Tacos are delicious and the rice and beans and salsa is too. I met the owner Alvarado. He's the nicest man. He welcomed me with open arms. We came in around 6pm on a Friday and were seated quickly. Same person who seated us took our drink order and brought chips, salsa, and drinks to the table. The salsa was a little warm, but I like it spicy. Lots of flavor. Lots of chunks. My wife ordered the build your own platter with tacos, ground beef, and sour cream on the side. I ordered a steak taco salad. Food arrived in a CRAZY fast way! Hers was delicious, and mine was as well. You'd think there was a lot of liquid in the bottom of the salad due to the meat, but if you break apart the bowl and let it soak up, the plate comes clean! This was my second time here and it did not disappoint, my favorite for Mexican food. They have the best guacamole and it is made fresh table side when you order. This will side crazy but my favorite thing there is the rice, it is creamy and cheesy and the best Mexican rice in town, I don't know how they make it but I could eat it all day! We are just across them and they decided to place a to go order from us and when I went to deliver it to them I had realized I never actually had a chance to try out their food. I went to Mexico Lindo tonight, but probably won't go back due to the overwhelming obnoxious chemical smell permeating throughout the restaurant. I assumed it was an "air freshener" but not certain. A friend of mine said she won't go there either because of the smell; she however thought it might be a cleaning product, Fabuloso. While the food is halfway decent, unless they use natural cleaning products or eliminate that smell, I won't be going back. 3 hours later I still have that smell on my clothes and hair, and a headache to boot. read more

Mexico Lindo is a gem! When returning to the Oshkosh area from the NEW Zoo on 41S, we saw the sign for Mexico Lindo, thought it might help fulfill a request for tacos, checked Yelp, and drove a short distance to its location in a strip mall in Howard. The restaurant was clean, decorated well, had music in the background that contributed to a pleasant ambiance, and a couple TVs for those that must follow sports. Service was excellent and the host and each of the servers polite and helpful. We were immediately greeted, seated, and offered menus. Daiquiris and margaritas were very good. Chips and salsa soon followed. Tortilla chips were fresh and warm, and salsa was among the best we've had since moving to the Midwest from the Southwest. All the entrees were equally fresh, made of high-quality ingredients, well-seasoned, and delicious. Even the Mexican-style rice was flavorful and grains of rice separate and not mushy! Our taco requestor decided to go with a build-your-own taco approach (a.k.a. chicken + steak fajitas + corn tortillas). Others ordered pastor and steak tacos, chicken chimichanga, and a steak King burrito too large to finish. Mexico Lindo was added to multiple favorites lists. We'll be very willing to make the 50+ mile drive when the urge for good Mexican food strikes. read more

I wanted good steak tacos. Not your run of the mill boring barely stuffed crap. This was amazing but expensive. The medium house margarita was like a pitcher. Wow! It had good flavor and was pretty. The table side guacamole was delicious I would get it again just enough lime added and chunks of tomatoes. The real star was the steak tacos. The meat was crispy and paired well with the chopped white onion and cilantro. The green spicy sauce it was served with was sublime. I will say not a fan of the beans to smokey but that rice was yum packed with flavor. We will be back! read more

Price is for sure a deterrent, or should be especially considering consistency. One visit it will be great and then the next is awful. The staff are so fake at being kind. They just want to push the drinks and make your family dinner a party. One gal in particular doesn't do that, but she's so rude I'd rather her be pushing shots.
