The tech showed me the nail I ran over haha. :o) He patched the tire and sent me on my way *quickly* which was nice because every tire place in the area had a wait time on the order of hours. They weren't wearing masks (Fall 2020). Kinda weak sauce. When it was time to pay, they realized their card reader wasn't working when they ran my card. I had to walk to the Farmers and Merchants bank down the street. If you're unfamiliar with the area, it's...not a nice walk. Annoying.. but not a huge deal. No frills! Normally when I get a tire replaced or fixed, they fill up the other tires for me and give me a sense of how long I should expect them to last. It's probably an attempt at an upsell, but it's helpful. They were generally nice, efficient, and cost-effective. I would go back if I ran over something sharp again. read more

It's not a glamourous shop, but Mexi's Auto works quick and doesn't charge much. They can help you with most things, but if you don't ask questions then you might not get all the attention you need. I came in a few times to get my tires fixed up. The first time I came in was to replace a flat. Had them swap it out with whatever they had in stock, a used tire that wasn't more than 30 bucks. Normally you should go for a matching pair. It was just a temporary fix though, so I didn't think much of it. I came back to replace the "temp" tire and the other one opposite it. Got a good deal at 35 apiece on these. But I noticed that soon after my car wasn't running as smoothly as before. Rattling and shaking at higher speeds. Went to another place for an estimate, and ends up I needed to get my alignment fixed, as well as get the tires balanced. Now they didn't look at it, and I didn't think to ask. And I'm sure they'd have taken care of it had I brought it back. I just wish I got it taken care of in the first place. So if you are in a pinch, this is a great spot to get a quick fix. But you get what you pay for, so be sure to get all your problems taken care of or else you will pay for it later. read more

These guys were super nice and always very helpful, knowledgable, and cost effective. However, after taking my car here I got a flat tire and was in for a big surprise when I went to change it out. I have a lifted truck with big, expensive tires and rims, I also had the same tire and rim set up for my spare which is attached under the truck. When I went to change the spare it was gone a had been replaced with a small, cheap, almost unusable spare tire. I have no way of proving these guys stole it, but they were THE ONLY mechanics I took my car to from the last time I needed to use a spare. Also, I was sent to this shop by an employee of the Jiffy Lube near PCH and 7th. This employee had obviously seen underneath my car...I'll let you connect the dots yourself. read more

A friend of mine told me to take my car here to get the break release fixed and new radiator put in. Pep Boyz was quoting me unreal prices around $400 bucks! Mexi Auto did everything and even fixed my idle for a grand total $120( bought the parts they needed for around $80, so total cost was around $200! That was over 5 months ago and the car is running better than when I took it there. After that I took my wifes car in to get a radiator replaced, did not even bother considering Pep Boys. Cost me $100 bucks parts and labor. I tried to find the part, but told them a it would take couple days. One of very helpful mechanics asked,"how much did they quote me for the part?". He then matched the price and got in done in less 2hrs! Today, my engine light came on and I took it down there to have Mexi Auto run a diagnostics check. Tony told me it was more than likely the catalytic converter. Was not really excited to hear that, but he told me put better quality gas in and see how it works out for a week. If the engine light comes on again, bring it back. He quoted $75 bucks to replace the catalytic converter. This did not cost me a dime! This the the type of neighborhood mechanic that you can trust to get the job down right the first time. Went in for low tire pressure turns out I had a something lodged in my tire. They patched it up super quick! After driving for a bit the sign wouldn't come off so I went back and they added air to the other tires and said to come back if it still came on which unfortunately I had to because the damn thing wouldn't stop saying low T.P. the manager at that point checked my car to see if it was something in my cars system, but he said it was all fine and that if after driving it a couple miles more at different speeds it still wouldn't come off then to take it to Honda since it's a new car and was still under warranty. They kept my truck for 3 weeks after the first week they said it's already fixed, they charge me $80.00 but when I check my truck they didn't do anything on it. Then I return my truck to their shop 10 minutes later. They said they forgot something (to steal a part on my truck) and they will check it again. And they keep it for 2 more weeks. They stole an MSD distributor on my truck and they put a cheap ($50.00) one on it. And they show me a broken one which is black plastic, mine was aluminum high performance. I know my distributor cos I took it out like 10 times but I didn't have the tool to turn the oil pump shaft to adjust the timing. that's why I sent it to this shop to get fixed. The problem on my truck was the timing, it was advance, they only have to adjust it. Now my truck's problem got worst, it's very slow, no power, it backfires, sometimes it won't start. And high gas consumption. And they charge a $150.00 for stealing my $400.00 high performance distributor. I didn't want to bring it back coz this time they might steal the engine. The mechanics are thieves and dishonest. So disappointed on that shop. read more

I was a loyal customer here I would bring in my car for repairs and services all the time. Until they broke a couple of things on my car. I was a little upset that these inconveniences happen. So thinking they were gonna fix it I said fine. I paid the bill of the original repair. Then they said they wouldn't fix the part they broke which was mydashboard.They burnt and shorted a couple of my wires under my dash too.
