At Orozco's Auto Service we perform a 30 point inspection on every vehicle that comes into the shop, every time it comes into the shop. Many customers are surprised to find out that they have not been told about the true condition of their vehicle and in essence have not been maintaining their vehicles properly. The process we use in the long run will save you money and give you valuable information to help you make comprehensive decisions within your budget over time. Our inspection is done at no cost to the customer and is done by an ASE certified master technician. What you did not mention is that the $2,000 of recommended repairs would have been broken down into categories for you. This is another service that we provide to all our customers. The inspection and estimates are broken down in the following way. We address the main concern or the reason the vehicle was brought in first. In your case it was due for an oil change, but in many cases the problem could be more complicated. The estimate(s) will be made to address the concern and discussed with you. The customer makes their own decision based on the information that we deliver. Imagine if we had done the oil change and not told you that there was for example a coolant hose that needed replaced. You go on your way and two days later you overheat and end up getting towed back in. I bet you would be saying why didn't someone tell me about this! By the way if you did the preventative repair of fixing that hose, the bill would obviously be minor compared to the damage caused by overheating your engine. The second category is safety again if you come for an oil change, but your brakes are malfunctioning you may want to take immediate action. John, you can see that safety and maintenance are the key to extending the life of your vehicle, its systems and components and even you or your family. All safety items are discussed and presented to the customer. Some shops do not inform their customers of anything but the concern, mainly because they are afraid of scaring them with a big bill or they may not have the proper training to check all of the systems of your vehicle. It is true, we are different and that is why we stand out as the most trusted shops in Long Beach. Think of as your full service shop. We offer a 2 year 24,000 mile warranty on our parts and labor all of our equipment is up to date. The tech's that work for us are sent to continual training and hold the ASE certifications. The highest level of training available is a master technician. Back to the inspection process. The next category is maintenance, all the information is documented for you and is measured by industry standards and or scientific testing when applicable. Maintenance can be due as per mileage or we may inform you of a condition status and let you know when something is coming up, so that you can plan ahead for recommended repairs. The final category is optional items. We do a few extras like headlight restoration and a mist service which cleans out the HVAC system of your vehicle (great for allergy sufferers) To address the radial play in your idler arm one must have the vehicle on a hoist releasing the tension on the arm. Many vehicles have a 0 tolerance for what is called radial play. If you took your vehicle to another mechanic and he or she did not find the same play or any of the other recommended repairs, then I believe that you have a technician who is unqualified to work on any vehicle period. Bring your vehicle and the mechanic to our shop and we will show him all the findings and we will film it live and publish the results on the internet for all to see happily!! After two days, we were informed of a more severe problem: a blown head gasket, which would cost around $7,000 to fix. Naturally, this was a shock to us, so my partner and I visited the shop to get more information. We decided against proceeding with the expensive repair and instead instructed Joseph to do the bare minimum to get the Jeep running again. We made it clear that we wanted regular updates and that no additional parts should be installed or removed without our approval. Unfortunately, communication became a significant issue. so I'd like to start by saying when it comes to mechanic shops there's nothing I value more than great customer service and honesty about the work since theirs so many shops out there that can do the same thing and compete on prices. but my experience here has set a new bar for what a great auto service shop should be, the person that kept helping me out was Marvin and he was a really stellar employee to the extent that I can honestly say gave this company a lifetime customer but even when talking to other employees when he wasn't available I got the same quick response and attentiveness I've gone again for a different vehicle since the first time back in July and still excellent service and advice they breakdown the issues very well and yes I feel some people may agree they're on the more expensive end when it comes to repairs but I do feel the service they provide is well worth the headaches and mistakes you may receive finding the cheaper alternative I'm learning that all too well, so my deepest gratitude to this team and keep up the great work. read more

Excellent service performed promptly. The culture of this business is to maintain a vehicle (be proactive) in order to avoid mechanical issues that cost a great deal more than repair. Benjamin Franklin said "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," and Orozco's Auto Service personifies this mentality about taking action when something is manageable. I personally know how much this company embraces management development of it's team as well as ongoing training for their technicians. That's why I switched my business from the manufacturer to Orozco's. Employees that are invested in are happier than those employed by organizations that don't perceive their employees as assets. I purchased a set of new tires from a tire dealer for my '17 Volvo XC60 and the Tire Pressure Monitoring system kept indicating that all four tire were low. I didn't have a Volvo mechanic at the time so I contacted Orozco's Auto Service and scheduled an 8am appointment for Thursday, August 12, 2022. The service mechanics were extremely friendly and very knowledge.able about the tire issue. Everything was taken care of and I was very surprised that someone updated the "Infotainment System" which I couldn't figure out ever since I've had the car. Now I truly appreciate the unique features of my car and the cost of the services was very reasonable. These guys are so respectful and do excellent work. I took my Ranger in last week for oil change and they also did a 30 point inspection... my cost out the door was less than Valvoline and one of the things that needed attention was transmission fluid exchange. I was told for years that it was sealed and couldn't be done. This week these guys did it. Such a huge difference in handling! These guys (and gal) are absolutely no pressure and are self aware regarding repair costs, that I feel like I have time to fix things and not worry about high costs all at once.
