I wanted to take a moment to leave a review for Reparations Club…read more I first heard about Turtle Island: Foods and Traditions of the Indigenous Peoples of North America on NPR and wanted to grab it as a birthday gift for a friend. I'm big on shopping local, so when I saw it was available here, I immediately placed a pickup order. They offered beautiful gift wrapping, with sustainable, eco-friendly packaging, which made the whole experience feel extra thoughtful and special. When I went in to pick it up, I ended up finding Go Tell It on the Mountain by James Baldwin, with an introduction by Roxane Gay, who I absolutely love, so of course I had to grab that too. The ambiance of the store is something else. It feels peaceful, energetic, and inspiring all at once. The music selection really sets the tone, and the staff are genuinely warm and welcoming. I'm a huge believer in shopping local. Every purchase is a small act of resistance against mass consumerism and extractive capitalism. If you have the option, choose local. Support Black-owned businesses. Always

There was a line when I got there and we had to wait to be let in. I was both confused and surprised by that but learned why once I got inside. I was there on a day there happened to be a book signing and meet and greet with author Nedra Glover Tawwab for her newest book, The Balancing Act! That was really cool to witness. I was here on a Saturday afternoon and it was busy! The space is beautiful! I love the art and the colors and the way it's all organized. Staff were incredibly kind and helpful. There were so many books to choose from but I ultimately landed on a title I've been eyeing for a few years: My Sister, The Serial Killer. Really excited to read this book and can't wait to come back!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Open Eye. I have been a dedicated fan of Crystal QVC for a few years now. I've…read morealso visited the shop several times IRL in LA. Madison and her staff are a WEALTH of knowledge, not to mention the fact that they have the absolute best selection of crystals that I have ever seen. If you are a crystal freak, looking for the perfect gift for someone, or simply want to invite a little more magic into your life 10/10 recommend Open Eye.

I first discovered Open Eye Crystals during the pandemic through their Crystal QVC livestreams on…read moreInstagram, and I've been in love ever since. Every order arrives beautifully packaged with thoughtful cards explaining each crystal's properties. You can tell how much care and intention goes into everything Madison and the team do. Madison herself is incredible. She's knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely passionate about sharing not just the crystals, but also how to work with them. The in-store experience is just as special. The energy when you walk in is indescribable. You can feel the energy created by the crystal grid set up in the shop and the daily cleansing they do. And every corner feels elevated and grounded at the same time. The selection is so well curated and I feel like I always find something unique calling to me! Some of my favorite treasures from Open Eye include my spessartine garnet collection, faceted crystal bracelets, tourmaline necklace, giant quartz crystal point, rainbow obsidian Virgin Mary, and my life-changing moldavite. Madison's jeweler recommendations have helped me create beautiful custom pieces that I'll cherish forever. And where else can you find meteorites and fossilized dinosaur pieces in one place? Open Eye Crystals! I also love their workshops. They are such a beautiful way to connect and learn. My most recent favorite was the pendulum workshop, and I left feeling both grounded and inspired with new ways of working with my pendulum and a new custom piece on the way! Open Eye Crystals isn't just a shop. It's a community, a sanctuary, and one of my favorite places in Los Angeles. If you're drawn to crystals, energy work, or intentional living, you have to experience this place.
