    Cool Colada

My husband and I are in Auckland and the weather has been on and off with the rain. We wanted something warm and light so thought Mediterranean or something similar would be great. Found this place nearby through a search. For food, we ordered the Lentil and Tomato soup and Moorish Eggs. Both were warm and tasty. Both were actually quite filling especially with the bread that it comes with. For drinks, my husband had a Flat White and I had a Cool Colada. I can't speak to the Flat White but he said he liked it. I love my Cool Colada. It was a good mix of juices. I really enjoyed the warm berry topping mixed with the coconut cream. Delicious! We ordered at the bar. Drinks came out first then the food. Timing seems standard. Service was good and actually one of the better ones from my experience here so far. Ambiance is cozy with lots of seating choices to choose from. Feels like a mix between a coffee cafe and lounge. We were on some couches by the window with charging outlets nearby. It was pretty comfortable. There are quite a few folks in here working or playing games as well if anyone is looking to do any of that. Overall great and glad we found a decent place to keep us dry from the rain!

Best food experience in Auckland! Tapas-style done exactly how it should be. A refined, and rich middle eastern spot tucked in a small alley, that explodes with character as you walk in. A merry environment that ensures a good vibe and a strong array of food, made for a singular night out. Unique drinks, leveled-up mediterranean food, and service that allowed for the customer to be in control of their experience, led the night to be better than ever expected. You need to experience the Mezze Bar for yourself to truly get an idea of how good tapas can be.

Teetering between a 3 & 4 star spot, the food pushes this up to a 4. Even though it was a touch overcooked, the fish sandwich was very tasty, and was a great first meal in Auckland. That said our service was a bit weird here, and it was kinda expensive for what it is. Interiors was nice, but not much of a view if that's a priority for you.

Good, service, ambiance--Cafe Mezze Bar has it all! Tucked away in a little alley, hubby and I came here after walking away from Chuffed because they were out of everything we wanted to eat. Worked out better for us! I had the Spanish Quiche and hubs had the Moorish Eggs--both were OUTSTANDING!! This place doesn't show up on yelp when you search "breakfast" but if you're in Auckland and want a fantastic breakfast you don't have to hold in your hands, with gracious friendly service and beautiful ambiance, this is the place for you.

Moorish Eggs. Like Shakshuka, but with Turkish meatballs. Delicious! BEST. BREAKFAST. EVER!

Came here my first day in Auckland and I couldn't have made a better choice. Had the Lamb Tagine and it was epic. Love Tangine, and this one was really, really good. Came back the next morning for breakfast! Had the Moroccan Eggs - think Shakshuka with meatballs. It was delicious and full of flavor. Came back, for the Tagine, at dinner. Just had to have it again. Had coffee with each meal (Cappuccino, Flat White, Cafe con Leche) and without exception every one was excellent. Good food AND coffee?! Sold!

Mezze Bar is a great place to go to for a work function, a casual lunch or for a spot of cake and coffee. They serve predominantly Middle Eastern food, plus a range of vegan/vegetarian tapas and mezze options. Last but not least, yummy cakes and puddings! I came here during the week with two colleagues. I had not been to Mezze Bar before, but my two dining companions raved about the delicious food. They both ordered the Smoked Chicken Salad with toasted almonds, vine tomatoes, red pepper, grilled halloumi cheese, fresh herbs and a balsamic vinaigrette ($19). I ordered the Turkish Lentil and Tomato Soup drizzled with lemon juice and paprika oil and served with hot Turkish pide bread ($12.50). The Turkish Lentil and Tomato Soup was amazing. Perfect balance of spices and the Turkish pide bread on the side was a nice touch. It is also nice to have something warming and delicious in the wintertime! I also tried some of my colleague's Smoked Chicken Salad - the halloumi was to die for and the flavours all worked really well together. Next time, I will definitely be ordering that! The service is friendly and the atmosphere funky and it is a very happening place. I would recommed this place to all, because there will be something for everyone on the menu! Make sure you book!

We had the best brunch ever! The food and drinks were awesome. This is definitely the place to have brunch.

Mezze Bar is an amazing space - on the first floor overlooking Queen Street it's perfectly removed from the hustle but right in the centre of town. In the day time it's filled with wonderful buttery natural light, and in the evening its spacious enough to stay cool (ish). Unfortunately I've had a bit of a mixed bag from Mezze - sometimes it's been absolutely perfect, with an amazing atmosphere, great service, food, and drinks. But then a couple of times I've been and the service has been crap (they forgot my order once), and food forgettable (a lousily cooked brunch). But it certainly deserves another go, and I'll be back again no doubt.

A great brunch! Don't let the "Bar" part of it's name mislead you. This spot had some great food and great service. The Maple French toast is amazing. The Bacon & Eggs sounds simple, but it is packed with flavor and perfectly prepared.

Mezze bar sort of covers all bases. They open at 7 am for breakfast and remain open until late in the evening and can because of a large menu offering. The food for the most part is middle Eastern, items such as fresh hand made Turkish Delight and Egyptian orange cake can be found in the cabinet and there is a large tapas menu. What I do really like about Mezze Bar is they have a separate Vegan menu, it takes the guess work out of it for me. I find the service is always good here, nice atmosphere too. The interiors are confusing but that aside a nice place to hang out and relax no matter what time of the day. I still come here often, though the coffee is a bit hit and miss. The long blacks are too long, or I have become very critical when it comes to caffeine.

This place is awesome! The food is indeed top-notch. Came in on a slow Sunday evening and got terrific service while winding our way through a healthy chunk of the tapas menu. My personal favourite was the feta drizzled with lemon juice and chilli - had incredible flavour for such a simple dish! The pan-sizzled garlic and chilli prawns were also fantastic. The meat in the kofte kebab had great flavour, and don't worry about ordering any dip, because it is served on a very generous platter of hummus and tahini. Also partook of the roast carrots, the garlic mushrooms & chorizo, and the roast paprika potato chunks. Not a bad, nor even mediocre, dish in the whole lot! The service was also great. The staff was very friendly, and we had lengthy conversations with not only our waitress but also the bartender and one of the chefs that came out specifically to meet us. Could not be more pleased with this place, and I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit. (Now the only challenge is to pace myself on the tapas so next time I can try one of the tempting offerings from their impressive dessert display!)

I was never told the status "multiple times" and I don't know who "you guys" is. This place needs a reality check, the food was awful and service was miserable. If you're feeling adventurous give the 'Catch of the day' a go to have fish or if you are a fan of mango and avocado, opt for the 'Pacific Pita'. To be honest most of the time I choose the Fatima's favourite with Lamb and no cheese. Its my favourite and I can't get enough of the combo of the tomato relish, aioli and chilli together. This place is great as they cook their meat to order and use fresh ingredients, giving you a nice hot pita or charwarma. So far all the proteins have been cooked to the right degree. Ive had a chawarma once, its better if you don't have a huge appetite as they are smaller but the bap bun is a nice difference from most eateries. If you are eating with someone share a side of the koftas. Who doesn't love little balls of fried potato. Served with their sweet chilli aioli it's so unhealthy but soo good. It was a fantastic lunch, thanks to the lovely food, cocktails, ambience and service. Bodrum Market is run by one of my favourite hospitality companies - Nazar Group. Founded by Alex Isik and Nigar Ivgen, they own restaurants all over Auckland, including Feriza's, Miss Istanbul, Ottoman Mezze Lounge, NOA Chargrill + Burger, Devon on the Wharf, Mozaik Caffe, Deco Eatery, Casablanca and Bodrum Kitchen. All of their restaurants bring a slice of the Mediterranean to the table - featuring Turkish, Greek, Moroccan and Middle Eastern dishes... so we were really excited to check it out! Walking in, we absolutely loved the interior of Bodrum Market, which is inspired by Istanbul's Grand Bazaar and the streets of Bodrum City. While I have not yet been to Istanbul (it is on the list!), I immediately felt transported to an exotic city! We were seated in one of their booths, which overlooks the dining area and bar. If you dine at Bodrum Market, you must order a cocktail! We tried three which were all refreshing and delicious. My top picks are the Bombay Masala Talkies - Gin infused with masala tea, butterfly pea flower syrup, lemon juice and Mediterranean tonic water; the Sultan Treat with Russian vodka, rose petal water, fresh pomegranate, lime juice and pomegranate molasses; and the Aam Pana Cooler with Tequila, orange liqueur, raw mango puree, roasted cumin powder, lemon juice and lemonade. (Seriously, typing this now makes my mouth water!!!) And now for the most important part, the food! Bodrum Market is offering diners an authentic experience by serving four different cuisines - Indian, Italian, Turkish and Latin American Asado, just like the traditional food markets of the Mediterranean. Their aim is to showcase unique flavours from each of their teams' homelands. We were lucky enough to get a sneak peak through their kitchen and admired their Wood-Fired Pizza Oven, Asado Grill and Doner Kebab machine. There are many options on the menu to suit a range of palates, and I recommend sharing if possible so you can try a few dishes. We trusted the team to bring us a few of their favourites from each of the four cuisines to try, including Olives and Feta with almonds and dates, Chicken Lollipops with chili sauce, Grilled Octopus with new potatoes, paprika butter, garlic aioli and parsley, Beef Short Ribs with Chimichurri sauce and Prosciutto Pizza with fresh rocket, cherry tomatoes, mozzarella and Parmesan. We loved that everything was super fresh, flavourful and tasty, plus every dish was full of colour. Our favourites were the Beef Short Rib - lathered in a beautiful Chimichurri sauce and the meat was melting off the bone! The Chicken Lollipops were also a highlight, and we surprisingly enjoyed the Grilled Octopus... must admit those tentacles freaked us out a bit! For dessert, we tried their Loukoumades - light and fluffy Greek honey puffs, drizzled in chocolate sauce and served with pink fairy floss, ice cream and pistachios. You will definitely want to save room for this dessert! For a further sweet treat, head outside to the entrance of Bodrum Market to admire the displays of Baklava, Chocolate Baklava and Turkish Delight - definitely recommend buying a few pieces for the ride home. Thank you Bodrum Market for a FAB dining experience - we cannot wait to come back! x
