    Chicken Musakhkhan

I really love middle eastern food, i've been to Turkey and spent time in Istanbul and fell in love with the freshness, fragrance and flavours. The problem with Middle Eastern in NZ is that it's too westernised, so I never eat it, ridiculously huge servings of Shawarma's and Kebabs packed full of averagely cooked fatty meat, soggy salad and too many sticky sweet sauces. I was so excited to hear about this place and it's authentic dishes and flavours. The actual place is very fast-food looking and not much atmosphere but the food is truly delicious. Smaller servings than your average. The Kooba (meat filled dumplings) with a crusty exterior were excellent and came with a yummy garlic yoghurt dressing, the hummus was thick and and lemony that smooth consistency that's impossible to find. The main events were the Chicken Musakhkhan and the Lamb Shawarma - both were alot smaller than most places but so much more flavour and salad on the side which I really liked. The meat in both were cooked to order and really delicious. The owner was really lovely and recommended we try the typical non-alcoholic beer that was peach and apple flavoured - so so so sweet but seemed to go really well with our food. I highly recommend you try this place ASAP!

A veggie plate, for $18 it's not a cheap eats to me. Tasted ok

I think it's ok. I like the service. Environment is quite simple. Food was not as good as I expected but tasted alright. I give 4 star as it's quite authentic and well prepared I can taste the fresh of the ingredients. But wil I come again maybe not otherwise I will give 5 star. If you want try something interesting come here. But it's not cheap at all although it's rated best cheap food. I spent 18 for a simple veggie meal can only fill one person.

The produce is fresh, the hummus tastes authentic and they have the most amazing garlicky, lemony chickpea salad. It's a fantastic find for vegetarians, with a large range of vegetarian salads to choose from along with the fresh falafel. Meat eaters are well catered for too: none of this processed lamb-on-a-spit crap that the food hall kebab shops serve. And moist, flavourful chicken. The servings are big, the prices are low, and there is a shop at the back where you can stock up on baklava, dolmades and other Middle Eastern delights. There are a few tables available inside, and a couple outside in a small sectioned area overlooking Dominion Rd for those who can't wait to dig into their kebab. Otherwise this is more of a takeaway option.

The vibe when we got there was quiet and intimate but over time the place filled up and it was very lively. Our waitress was pretty attentive - sometimes a little overly attentive but to me that's better than one that's not. :) My wife ordered wine and I ordered beer which came out cold and frothy in a large glass. Perfect The menu is sharing style. We are crumbed artichoke and meatballs. Both delicious. Next was peppered beef, a fragrant pork dish & seasonal greens. All were lovely. Dessert were equally good - vanilla donuts with sauce and a rhubarb crime brûlée. Other menu items from memory covered all general areas - seafood and fresh fish dishes and vegetarian options. Lamb and more. Something for everyone. Overall the new place was a delight and a wonderful local chic style bistro. Great for large or small groups, intimate dining or casual catch ups over food and drink.

The main problem is that it's really expensive. Considering it's located at the heart of Ponsonby rd though, that's hardly a surprise. Their milkshakes are really hot stuff. The aforementioned potato tot things are bloody delicious. Really really into them. I also like their neon sign. Fatimas gets really damn busy, so if you're going to hit them up during the peak period, expect a bit of a wait.

I was never told the status "multiple times" and I don't know who "you guys" is. This place needs a reality check, the food was awful and service was miserable. I don't recommend this establishment to anybody.
